n such high esteem should be based on the blood of the innocent. shouldn't be based on the blood... damn typos get me every time! And thanks for the link Dystopic... the book looks very interesting and I will definitely have to check it out.

I believe I speak for everybody when I give you the middle finger salute. Yes, you have spoken for me! And what's this? Holy S*@T Batman... it's Wheeloffire! Wow, welcome back buddy.
because nobody's been anything but civil to you, Trust me, my urge to be anything but is growing... I can't believe this is still going on. Enough already Kinjiru... enough. To Brad, kudos on your response!
Okay, first I make sure I have enough leather cuffs/bracelets as well as some decently made ball gags, cheap ones won't do here... oh, you meant dominate in the game... my bad...
What I meant was that people in the 10th percentile can now afford things the 90th percentile from a generation a go could only afford, for example going three times a year on a holliday (perhaps this is only possible in Europe with the vast amount of leisure time we have compared to the US). Maybe my family was just lucky but I don't know... I remember my grandparents having it waaaaay better off financially than my parents. And my parents have it waa
I am "happy as hell" today because the sky is blue and the sun is shining. It is a beautiful 80 degrees and I am on the downslope of my workday. I am "happy as hell" today because the robin that chose to build her nest on my ledge outside the kitchen window has laid an egg. One lonely little guy which will hopefully hatch and be healthy. The loss of using the window is a minor one at this point since it is a nice diversion, especially when doing the dishes and even more so when the cat dec
Capitalism is cool I've never heard it referred to as being 'cool'. There's a new one for me.
I accept it was accidental. I accept that this situation is very possibly one that was never foreseen or considered. But now that it's come up, I hope that SD will make adjustments so those of us who find a good portion of what was on JoeUser this morning to be nothing more than negative hate speech can avoid that and instead be redirected to a neutral page of choice while we wait for the normal site to return. Why is this such an issue to you, still? Y
Sorry if that response seemed harsh but it is how I feel. I am far from what anyone would ever consider a 'bleeding heart' but I still know how to show compassion. It is up to those of us who are 'stronger' to take care of those who can't do it for themselves. To the first one who throws the old "survival of the fittest" out there... shame on you.
To the originator of this thread, I suggest you give your own money to help the poor. Do not take any of mine through taxes. Don't make me pay for your bleeding heart. Ahhh, the voice of reason amongst us. This mentality is why we backslide as a society vs. moving forward. To those who think this way... despite my preachings I would have you know that in a given situation, if the roles were reversed and I could watch you squirm as you lose all you hold
I think that the poor will always be exploited, we will never have that utopian society everyone wants. But it's not about having a Utopian society, it is about what is fair, even though everyone says "life isn't fair", it should still be so. We've evolved far enough, I hope, that things like fairness in life can be possible. Hell, even the definition of 'poor' is quite loaded anymore. What would one consider to be poor? How much, or little, money do yo
But what the hell, America was first by minus, well probably 2000 years. congratulations, America is late and deluded again. I do have to 'apologize' for the sometimes seemingly ignorant comments of my 'fellow countrymen' as these are the views of the minority (I HOPE) among us. It is unfortunate that the 'majority' sits back and says nothing, stuck in the grind that is called 'middle class'. All we can do is tread water and try to stay afloat as ou
Regardless, it is quite unsettling to log on to your FAVORITE game forum only to find yourself staring at the JoeUser home page... especially with all of the political topics listed, someone such as myself could see this as a 'greater conspiracy' to thwart my efforts of 'thwarting Kryo' regarding political 'd
Yes, I would suggest buying the game. I enjoyed Civ III and find Civ IV to be even better. But if you didn't like III then...
Well I am grumpy as hell over these gas prices. To see that the bulk of this increase is due to certain refineries needing maintenance (don't they already factor these things in or does the money just go into the CEO's pocket on that one too?). Now 'analysts' are saying that we may not have enough fuel for the summer driving season because of the shortages at the refineries. But the fuel futures for June show the price to be around 2.21 a gallon... but we 'won't see this price' at the pump beca
"Help, help! I'm being opressed!" You better watch yourself there Oz... you might lose your 'Young Republicans' membership if they hear you talking like that.
Bring out your dead,, ding ding, Shove em on the cart, I just love when someone uses a Monty Python reference to get a point across!
You guys always post some fascinating reads and I love it! Since the general 'gist' of page seven seems to be focusing on some sort of 'utopian' society/idea I will throw in some random nonsense on this fine Saturday morning. The Barter System: I would love to see us go back to this 'old world' way of living, if not totally, at least to some degree. It's the old 'neighbor helping neighbor'
Your apollogy is accepted, but what I want to see is an actual effort to be friendly. Aw come on GreatEmperor, give him some slack. Not all of us 'naturally' play nice, not saying that you aren't nice Marcus , therefore we can't expect every online personality we come across to be happy-go-lucky. It takes some 'chutzpah' to post an apology and actually 'mean' it,
not everyone wants to compete. some people just want to live. some people want to pursue things, or pursue things in ways, that aren't compatible with business. but business colonizes all things. My feeling exactly! Well put sir, well put.
Since no one seems to be happy today I will shamelessly bump this one... I am happy as hell today because it is Friday. Even though my pay sucks it is also payday so I am happy about the little bit of cash in my pocket. I am happy as hell that the drive in is playing Spidey 3 with Ghost Rider (old Marvel nut here, but I DON'T like Nicolas Cage as the Ghost Rider... ). I am happy as hell
Oh, almost forgot advertising/marketing. These guys try to find new ways to sway public opinion daily, and they pay quite a few 'think tanks' to do their research as well as having in house departments devoted to this. Politicians!!! They constantly rely on their advisers, advisers who usually have some sort of degree in psychology.
those who work in what fields? Where did you get this from? I am interested, but sceptical. Ahhh, I can see how my 'vague' terms would entice curiosity (yet another 'mind control' experiment?). Seriously, I owe you guys that much and since I failed on getting proof for Oz a weekend or two ago (can't remember proof for what as we had so many 'discussions' but I'm sure someone will remind me, ahem). Being at work makes 'research' difficult. <img s
Always accepted Marcus! Although I do believe that 'most' of us who 'tussle' with you from time to time have thicker hides than to take things personally so no sweat... at least from me.
