Actually, I think that would be Windows not running more than 2 gigs. Whatever do you mean? My system specs clearly register the 3GB of RAM, plus FreeRAM doesn't display anything less than 2GB until 'after' it uses about 700 mb... so my system is definitely running with 3GB, minus the couple hundred megs it 'always' uses for system apps. My wife will often make funny comments about the game. She has absolutely no idea of what a computer game is and is otherwise pretty much computer illiterate. Quite the opposite in my case. Nothing helpful here but I'm still not sure WTF is going on with ship combat. I can't seem to get a grasp on 'what it takes' as any ships I build sooner or later become cannon fodder to a superior force. Then I redesign and get by, but only temporarily. There doesn't seem to be a method to the madness with this, but it still seems that the combat system has some 'quirks' to put it mildly. Just my observation.
