It's all a preference thing...whatever you feel comfortable with. Do you back up your files/data regularly? How long have you been using your ME system, and how much of your drive is filled up? You would definitely need to back up all your data files (at least) and other important files, but that's recommended even for an upgrade. Plus, for a clean install, you would need to choose between FAT and NTFS file system (I chose NTFS). I did a clean install because I didn't want any of the "bugs" from

Ok, i have a couple more questions... DO any of you kno how this installation of XP to a comp previously using ME works? Do u know any ppl who have done it? I do...I upgraded from ME to XP two years ago. I had never done anything like that (on my own) but am so glad I did! Agree with Jafo...it's best to just do a clean install and start fresh. I

Keep looking...I have an old gateway myself, and one of the disks says Microsoft Works, but there's a list on the right side of the disk that says Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1. Not sure how old your system is, or if you have the same version of Word (I've since upgraded), but it should be located on the same disk as MS Works. Hope that helps.

No problems here. The ITO at work gave me a disk with the network version of SP2 (I don't have a network) to use, he said there were less issues reported with that version. I forgot to turn off WB before the install, but luckily no problems with that.

but I've been in love with WB since Alexandrie's LightBlue. That was the skin that made me a WB-man. Same here...I still love LightBlue even though it's several years old. It's what got me interested in WB.
