@Loup: since the colonists declared the "United States of America" in 1776, but the Revolutionary War did not end in a formal peace agreement until 1783, then yes, that would count as the first war between the US and GB. The second being the War of 1812 (and as a side note, the Overture of 1812 is NOT an American song, or even about anything American; its actually about the Russian defeat of an invading Napoleon army) and for the record, the capital of Nepal is Ka

well i would be remeding it too, if someone would get off their lazy furry behind and write me that straetgy "guide" that i asked for; but i think they are too busy playing with their toys [e digicons][/e]
yknow, we're only like unh, 20K pts behind 8th place I believe
once the round is over, JS will have to tell me what he did. Its hard without those psionic beams [e digicons];P[/e] , i actually couldn't just spend my way into oblivion

I think it was the limits on activation that frustrated players. I mean, heck, I know that I was forced to download GalCiv II and WindowBlinds twice last week alone (PC crash, and hadn't backed up those files as they are "not irreplaceable"), so even though I had, in my mind at least, a legitimate excuse, by EAs standards I would have already used up two of my "freebies" though I have issue with the runup in companies and this whole "intellectual property" BS that has been the f
Colonization (old version). Still fun to play, but I'm looking forward to the new version this week.
i wish i could play "Colonization" (old version) but it doesn't run on Vista :-( I'm sure there's a workaround, but I'm not tech literate enough to know how otherwise, more GCII, trying to get my MVL game done (darn you Dystopic on these settings!)
see, now THATS what I like about GC....if you really are willing to think outside the box, there are some very interesting ways to conquer the galaxy; though I'll admit I'm partial to the Krynn's culture flips
download the Impulse utility from Stardock (which can be found at Stardock.com) and it will list all your registrations and let you redownload.
as a random aside, do you know that i've now been on every team (and captain at some point of two of them) except for the Bladerunners just interesting
assuming your sliders are at 1/49/50 (the most efficient use of production and research); then yes at 8 worlds you would have 1 prod, 1 research, and 6 econ. Generally, for me, i have one-two factories on all worlds to keep build times manageable. On research worlds, I will usually buy the first lab and then use Focus to do the building, no factories. Yes, they majorly upped the maintenance costs; also they lowered your starting treasury. They did up the
thanks Loup, i meant when your treasury hits those milestones, your income will drop. I believe there's another drop again later, but I don't know at what treasury amount that it is at. Lowering Maintenance: Efficieny, efficiency, efficiency. Really, in any game in any version of GCII (DL, DA, or TA) its always "The Economy, stupid!" From day one that should always be your priority, because if you can get that to flow, everything else
my guess: maintenance costs; they are pretty hefty in TA; esp for some of the high-end structures and the big military ships. other possible culprits: 4yrs in, i doubt population is a problem, I would hope by this point your planets are maxed out (either 13 or 18b) Graft: your income takes a very small hit at the 10,000 mark, and a noticeable hit at the 20,000 mark due to "graft"; its easily mistaken/missed by some players not paying attention leases: tho
well i love the new settings myself; i think they are pretty cool good job to JS and Dys now if only the iconians would stop blowing up my ascension starbases [e digicons]>:([/e]
added a few senators today [e digicons][/e]
sadly not always, though i seem to recall that Cari has improved the MV to guard against this; but getting caught using a Hex editor on a MV game will not maybe, but definitely result in your banning from posting games to the MV not the least of which, IMHO, i don't know why someone needs to use such a tool; there's enough "valid" cheats (at least by adding the cheat parameter) that will assure victory; does one really need to manipulate the planets that badly?

i know that im not purchasing Spore/RA3/or any other EA game; actually outside of Civ IV, I havent bought any game other than Stardock titles for the past two years; I don't personally pirate games, but hell if i can't say that I don't agree with people. My computer crashed twice last week, and while my important files were backed-up, I was glad to know that even though I lost all my saves for my SD games, I could just hop on Impulse and have em right back within about 5 minutes.
if you go to forums.stardock.com, you'll be able to access your full account information and be able to change your avatars
Congratulations to MetaLeaguer for joining the ranks of the Senate; and Hyperion is within 9,000 pts As a reminder to OG members; 100,000 cumulative points or 25 total games will earn you a Senatorship position
lol, its ok; i HAVE done stupid stuff before [e digicons][/e] , but i am hitting the Apply Changes button; the rest of the Theme will appear normally, but the taskbar will not. What is SHOULD look like: What it DOES look like
Indeed, let it be known that Olympian Gods are merciful and welcoming, let even one of the Titans join our midst. I call for a celebration to take place.
I am using WB 6.20.088 on my PC, which uses Vista (32) I am using the "Leo" theme, though the same issue has happened with all themes. The taskbar will not become transparent even though I've moved the slider. I can't seem to find any other reason for the prevention. Just wondering if I'm missing something here, or is there an actual 'issue' thanks! -Silver-
please note that editing a save game file, or using a hexeditor, is strictly forbidden for Metaverse games
yeah the size is missing; but it doesn't really affect anything. Just tells us that you're playing on Immense maps. And now you know the rest of the story.
