well...i've never come across the Sapains, though i do know that when a new minor race appears in the game, they start off with all technologies that are currently available to all the other races. Also some of the minor races have inherent abilities too. They sound like a milder version of the Dread Lords, which IMO is kinda cool.
Dys is right in saying that they did drop some FF extensions, and that yes, they are using IE7 now...however, I do have the latest IE7 and the medals don't appear on that; actually, my privacy report says they are getting blocked. I tried lowering my settings and still nothing. yeah, its a lot of fun...almost lost this last cycle using Ms. Howe here (with Obama as her VP choice); the Strauss (my own Republican creation, an Ultra Religious Right figure)-Bush team kept getting "Hollywood Friend" support, it was killing me. I ended up winning in the Electoral College but lost the popular vote by 1%, and that's without winning Ohio, Florida, or Texas. well....I opened the voting for the VC position about a week ago and no one has voted yet....i mean, really...the candidates aren't THAT bad guys :-D
meanwhile, i think ive let this percolate long enough. seems we've had a pretty strong response in keeping the MVL going :-) I'm waiting to hear back from DA, but from what I've been told there's a good chance the Villainy is about to go on sabbatical (not officially retired of course, we may need it at a later date) So...I think the consensus is to go with some minor changes; esp adding new features. Dystopic definitely had some good ones. <p

from what i read in the "Future of Galactic Civilizations" thread; it seems that they are enabling at least some form of multiplayer; since I'm sure there will be at least some form of ranking or leader board; it should be easy enough to set up "factions" or "empires" as such; they will just be different than the current incarnation found for GC II. More a loose confederation of players than a singular unit.
so ppl know, if the designs use mods such as Kryo's Hull mod, they will NOT work in MV games.
