A: BioWare has always listened very closely to its fans and we made this decision to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience to them. To all the fans including our ma
Why is that copy protection thing turning people away?
To me its the way they do the "every 10 day check". I would like to play my legal game when ever i want, on what ever machine in what ever way i want to. There is no guaranty that they wont take additional information which you dont know about. When will this crazy "copy protection that dont work anyways (and they already know it)" stop? that is why i dont feel safe to buy the games, as my stuff on my PC is privat,
Well now they say StarDock is just lucky and that is why they are selling their games. That makes a lot of sense
can you give a link to that? cant seem to find it on the bioware forum, if that was the place they said it :) btw, take a look at the bioware FAQ post count, it got a total of 532, thats 500 more posts then yesterday

updated the OP with info from the FAQ. What a sad day to see something like this (:( I gotta wonder, im quiet sure companys aint stupid, so why use so much cash and time on a copy protection that wont work anyways *confused* To me it sounds like they want something else with this "every 10 day re-check" they are not telling the costumers.
Am I missing something? Where in that link does it say anything about Spore having that copy protection? It seems exclusively for bioshock.
on page 2 he says:
Yes, EA is ready for us and getting ready for Spore, which will use the same system.
Thank god for Stardock is around that knows and understands the people :D

let me quote from [link="http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=628375&forum=125"]Source[/link]
Mass Effect uses SecuROM and requires an online activation for the first time that you play it. Each copy of Mass Effect comes with a CD Key which is used for this activation and for registration here at the BioWare Community. Mass Effect does not require the DVD to be in the drive in order to play, it is only for installation. After the first activatio

from the sound of it, it sounds like a corrupt install. Did you try to reinstall the game? try a few times and im sure it will work eventually :)

Im looking forward to Spore as well :D I do wonder if its legal to make a creature in that editor and then import it into another game
2. Vocal public beta testers were able to convince us to change features that would have been better left untouched. For example, the beta allowed the AI to take over for dropped players in multiplayer. However, beta testers complained that with the save/restore option, players could just restart the game and having an AI player get involved interfered with the experience. As a result, the feature of allowing computer players to pick up after dropped players was removed
I agree with Annatar11 and Multianna (what is it with that "anna" thing ?! does it mean something special ?) on one major point :
The true anna is the Multi anna :p
very competitive Sins online MP is pulling the game towards the fast and furious RTS polar extreme.
Yeah, its sad it have turned out to be more of a RTS then a RTS4X. The idea was really unique :SNIFF!: I just hope for the expansion it will change, but i doubt it..

To be honest Multi, I don't think there's much in the betas that's better than release.
Thats a matter of opinion :) I had such a passion for this game since the very beginning and i enjoyed every single beta until we reached final. I would called beta 4 the classic part of Sins, since it had me in touch with so much of everything, and would have made me play it for years to come. Ive tried so many times playing both the single and multi player, and i jus

I agree it could use some changes but the idea that you got fleet points per planet was actually a good idea. But the hole problematic with beta 4 to final is the "in touch" with things. The cap ships as we talked about. The planets are not as important anymore. The super weapons makes in no degree the gaming experience better. Gaming speed as well. If i had the choice between: $60 for beta 4 $40 for final i would pay the $60, thats how good i s
It's 90%, leaving 10% behind
i would rather wait the extra time then to leave 10% behind. To avoid this i have to do some really awkward and unwanted micro.
Yep, the ship limit back then was really
Yeah, the fleet supply system was great.
On the other hand, though, they added more militia around planets, so now it's possible to get a level 3-4 capital after clearing just 3 or 4 planets, so it doesn't take too long to get that feel back.
By the time it reaches that level, you will have a large fleet with maybe another cap ship. So the uniqueness of it is lost.
Psst, you know you can autopin planets so that everything your scouts visit gets pinned? Or did they make it so that only the ones you own
