Jim, pretty sure you know this already, but the GUI using the built-in Dark Mode does not get skinned by WB, for that to happen you need to set it to ' Standard User Interface ' . That is by design.

After reading that I would say the same, Winstep is working as intended. :)
Well, the white in those Winstep dialogs should be brown like in the File Explorer window at the left, and I don't know why it isn't. Sent a PM to Neil, maybe he will be able to shed some light on this. :)

Also, applied the Echo theme (apparently the only theme shipping with WB where the window background color is not pure white) and the dialog windows in Xtreme assumed the new (correct) background color. So, no idea why it isn't working there?
Err... I don't get it. I installed WB on a Windows 10 VM, selected a different style, clicked on Change System Colours and changed System Colour: Window to yellow (because all the default styles that ship with WB apparently use the same white background color), run Xtreme and it worked, even the Item Properties dialog is properly showing yellow as the background color. Unless some WB themes do not rely on changing the system colors...? What WB theme i
Anyway, going to install WB on a Windows 10 VM to get to the bottom of this. :)
Same as Ross
Hankers, and does that apply to Preferences as a whole or just to that particular dialog? As you can see from the screenshots I posted above, it was working fine at some point. :)
Also, a preview of new features in the next release: Due to popular request, icons can now be centered or right justified in Shelves (tabbed docks). Icons in docks, Shelves, etc, can now be colorized using one of three different methods (Tint, Hue or Tone). Tint is the most useful method for icon colorization, unless the icons are b

Ross, is the white background color in that Item Properties dialog right for the WB skin you're using? Or should it be some other color?

Yeah, guess I should have written 'To change the icon of an existing item in the dock ... you drop an .ICO , .PNG or .TIF file directly into it'. If you drop an .exe it will simply add that application to the dock. And if you drop a document file (.txt, .doc, .jpg, etc...) into an existing item, it will try to open that document in the application you dropped the file into. It's smart like that. :)
Happy birthday! :)

Just open the folder with your favorite icons in Explorer and drag the new PNG/ICO file directly over the i

I have another unreleased theme that Winstep commissioned from Vstyler some years ago, but it is still 100% in PSD format only. Here is what I am going to try to do: instead of putting it together by editing the configuration files directly (or asking WebGizmos to help me with that) I am going to use this as an opportunity to keep developing the Winstep Theme Builder, so I can use that to put the theme together. Good opportunity to eat my own dog food and also motivate me to finish th
I actually meant well (all you did was ask, and I see nothing wrong with that) and the intention was not to put you on the spot, but that is exactly what ended up happening. So my apologies once again.
Ok, in Don's defense, he only asked, and when I said I didn't like the idea of it being a paid WB skin much, he did say that he would be totally ok with someone else doing it if they could do it faster than him. This said, I do agree 100% with your reasoning. When Don asked if he could make a Master skin out of it, I immediately felt uncomfortable with the idea but I couldn't pinpoint exactly why. So I told him it just didn't feel right in this case, mainly because Winstep, despite ha

I said yes and sent him the original PSD files, so you will have to ask him. However, since it won't be a Master skin, he will only be able to work on it in-between his other skins. If you guys would prefer a faster release vs. being a free WB skin, then please feel free to say so. Personally, as
I'm tempted to include the new Office theme with the themes that ship with Xtreme/Ultimate, but mainly because it's (I think, not sure if you agree so please let me know) a more 'sober' theme than the rest, better suited for people who don't like 'bling' all that much and just want more of a 'production' environment. This said, I would probably match it with a different wallpaper. If anyone wants to try the NextSTART sub-theme, go to the Office theme folder, open the Office.ws
Just uploaded the new Winstep Office theme to Wincustomize. :)

That way, if someone prefers Office with a sub-theme, all they need to do is change the ThemeHasSubtheme entry from False to True in the NextSTART configuration file.
