THIS is the Facebook page of Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian guy identified as the shooter responsible for the death of the children in the Utoya island and also thought to be responsible for the bombing in Oslo today (reports suggest that he was seen

Eye-candy also matters, eh? Winstep focus was always on adding functionality first then eye-candy... Kind of lost sight of the eye-candy part for a while, though, but, with a ton of functionality already there, the last couple of years have been very much focused on adding eye candy too... No other dock for Windows has the kind of mouse over (and other) effects Nexus currently features, for instance, and Nexus was the first to add real time icon reflections. Lots more eye-candy relate

I'll do an open beta on it as soon as I have something 'edible'. :) Don't build up your expectations too much, though, my idea is to start (and perhaps end) with something simple: Categories with GUI settings, but with previews being done by the applications themselves (e.g.; you change the settings on the builder, click the Preview button and the builder sends a command to the running Winstep Applications which in turn show the results). Perhaps implement some

Nexus Ultimate (NOT the free version of Nexus) supports multiple level sub-docks, which, functionality wise, are pretty much the same thing, or even better because you can put non-file system stuff into them. Eye-candy wise, sub-docks are not as 'flashy' as Stacks, which is why a native version of Stacks is on the to-do list for Nexus Ultimate. This said, there is something called 'Cris'n'Softs' stand alone Stacks which you can use with the free version of Nexu
It seems that it is indeed only available to subscribers only, became available only once I extended my subscription.
Probably the easiest way is to actually go to the Themes page on the Winstep web site and then click one of the big sliding theme screenshots - that will bring you straight to that theme's page here at Wincustomize, and from there you can just click 'Winstep' at the top to access the Winstep gallery.
How easy is it to skin (skin editor program vs .ini files and notepad?) and can I convert my objectdock backgrounds to work with this?
You don't need to convert anything - Nexus is compatible with skins for *all* 3rd party docks. As for skinning, because of the above, you can use whatever skinning format you chose (RocketDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, etc...) to skin Nexus... Currently Winstep is working on it's

Sigh. 500 Internal Server Error? Try again, please, it comes and goes. The site has been acting a bit flaky for the past 3 days, the Basiclink guys are already on it. Hope the nice animated icons SWF demo file I did has nothing to do with the server crashing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did... trouble seems to have started after I added that to the site.

Well, unfortunately the 'bad vibes' here scared them off. Personally I'm sad to see their now gray, empty, avatars. Even though I never talked to them until now, their crazy 'typical French' interaction here amused me no end, and it was also a breath of fresh air on this forums.

Ah, and for the 'There is no reason to have a french version of windowblindes avaible, since they make up a small % of our members' comment, that is pretty much a chicken and egg situation. Does 200 million French speakers in the world sound like a small percentage? Perhaps the percentage of French WB users would be MUCH larger if there was actually a French version of WB available to start with. Just saying. :-P

Jafo, I can read French pretty well, although I have a hard time writing it, and I can tell you right now that those guys were in NO WAY 'hijacking the forum with a bunch of childish BS'. On the contrary, they were very nice, talking about helping each other and were being pretty ok about WB not having a French language pack. I do find the 'highjacking' comment pretty insulting, however. Seems to me like someone got pissed off because he couldn't understand what th
The only thing I've found to be reliable is Winstep and I'm waiting on the skinning tools for that before I have a go at it.
Thanks. I still have such a HUGE list of really cool things to add that making the Theme Builder (skinning options previously were part of the GUI) kind of took a back seat. But now with lots of renewed interest in Winstep applications I fully realize I need to make the damn thing or WebGi

The forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest. Back then everything in Windows looked the same and you couldn't change much (if anything). Then these little skinning applications known only to a small elite started popping up (eFx, Chrome, WindowBlinds) and, because everything looked the same, *anything* that looked even slightly different was received with 'wows and ahhhhs'. And the more different, the better, skinners were pushing the envelope of what could be done. People wou
