As DrJBHL pointed out, Nexus Ultimate has something called a Shelf (tabbed dock). What distinguishes the Shelf from other tabbed docks is that, besides tabs to store shortcuts to files, it also features 'special tabs'. These special tabs can display (and give you quick access to) the contents of virtual folders such as your Desktop, My Computer, Control Panel, Recent Documents, Running Tasks, System Tray, Themes, etc... You ca

You know, I would *really* like to see Brad actually *discuss* something on this forums. The trend I've noticed lately is that he makes a single post about 'whatever', everybody jumps in with different opinions, and not a peep from him is heard again until the next totally unrelated post. Sorry Brad, but that's not the Brad I know for 10 years. Will you please come back down to earth? Seriously, we need you here. :-)

I'm not, which is why I didn't know the answer to that question. But Winstep users who don't have a subscription at Wincustomize and who download Winstep themes from here are - which is why I asked.

Well, Nexus is compatible with skins for ObjectDock v1.x skins (as well as most other docks). Not sure about v2.x skins, though. As for only native Winstep skins appearing in the themes tab, that's because only native Winstep themes have bitmaps for the Shelf (tabbed dock) so only those are listed when the default 'Winstep Themes' filter is selected. To see all dock skins (including the 3rd party skins) you need to a.) change the combo box at the top left of the Th

Thanks, I would appreciate that. 50 MB (or whatever the number really is) forever for that IP address, right? i.e.; Not something that resets to zero after a few days without downloads?

But I want it fixed NOW! Errr... Just kidding. [e digicons][/e] I do have one question though, Hankers (yes, a shame I have to ask this question being a part of this community since the beginning, but that is exactly the problem, I've never run into this issue): what exactly are the download limits for guest users (i.e.; users who don't have a subscription at WC or who are not currently Stardock customers)?
If ObjectDock stuff can be used with Nexus then why did Nexus stop displaying skins after I added a background from ObjectDock. I remember reading in another thread some time ago that you can't include the ini file.
Eh? You completely lost me there, sorry. Exactly what do you mean by 'stopped displaying skins'? Also, what version are you using (check the top right corner of the About tab in Preferences)?

You guys using Nexus might like to know I've changed them in the next release to something much better looking that goes well (or should) with all themes.

Even the one in Winstep tells me an inaccurate number of emails.
No disrespect, but perhaps you don't fully understand how email checkers work then. From the Winstep Xtreme FAQ: The Email Checker is not a full blown email client. The Email Checker simply asks the server how many messages are pending retrieval, and, if there are any, that's w

I've been using IE for years, even though I have both Firefox and Chrome installed here and always up-to-date. IE 9 *is* ugly. It's also much faster than IE 8, but it's butt ugly. I think it's the first time in all these years that I am having a hard time adapting to a new IE version, and I am currently forcing myself to stick with it (the just released FF 4.0 looks great by comparison). First it's those tabs at the top. On a bla

The following is a blog post from a fellow developer that lives in Japan. It really puts what happened there into perspective, and I bet you'll learn a thing or two about Japan in the process: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2011/03/13/some-perspective-on-the-japan-earthquake/
Has to do with the length of the shelf, Jim. If I stretch it, that disappears (if I'm reading your thoughts correctly).
Yep. The complex background pattern (and the subtle reflections) on the Shelf background made it very difficult to get the skinning settings right. Sorry for not having replied already, Jim, been terribly busy with the new release.
Are there docks for the dock?
Nexus features 'sub-docks', which can be nested into an infinite number of levels. This allows you to categorize applications in the dock (i.e.; create program groups). The icons for the sub-docks don't have to be all the same like in Doc's screenshot, by the way, you can customize them just like you would any other dock icon: by dropping a PNG, ICO or TIF image into them.
