Sorry for the late reply, been busy with the v10.9 release of the Winstep Nexus dock and Winstep Xtreme. That's were you are wrong, they will pirate anything that costs money (even only $1) if they can get away with it. The only way you can stop them is by making the process of finding a pirated copy that actually works more has
Download of the free version at Download.com is blocked by Eset's Smart Security (and probably NOD32 too) as 'probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan'. False positive, no doubt, so you might want to let Eset know about it so they can fix it on their next virus definitions update. A good resource to see if other AV suites are flagging a false positive is http://www.virustotal.com Been bitten by my fair share of false positive
I like Heal too... Hmmm. Wonder if it would be better if the effect kept playing while you mouse over the icon, like Flare does.
I love Squish too. And flare.
I think he knows. I identified myself with 'As a software developer...' hehe. And talking about being hurt by pirates, there is a certain Russian idiot I would like to put my hands on. Make him feel my pain. [e digicons]>:([/e] If you're reading this - and you know who you are - I have your IP address, you hear?!! lol [e digicons];P[/e]
Jafo, indeed, w hatever reasons anybody comes up with, they are really just racionalizations/excuses to something everyone knows deep down to be 'wrong'. But Mercestes attitude is a healthy one: he realizes and admits that software pirates are, in reallity, shooting themselves in the foot, as, for piracy to exist, there must be something to pirate, and for that, software developers need to be able to make a living on what they do. Heheh. Out of curiosity, from 1 to 10, how would you guys rate the new animations in terms of preference and coolness? Squish: Spin: Sonic Boom: Heal: Fire: Magic: Flare: Wind: Water:

I'll be making Winstep Xtreme v10.9 and Nexus Ultimate v10.9 available through the Winstep Update Manager late Monday or so, but you won't see it listed on the Winstep web site until Cnet updates their listings with the new version, which might take a few days.

Nah, don't worry about it. I knew this was going to be confusing because the pre-scheduled Cnet exclusive forced me to release Nexus first. My own fault for slacking out and not finishing everything on time. [e digicons][/e]
Winstep Xtreme v10.9 will be officially released next week. Nexus v10.9 was ready (and the Cnet Download.com exclusive was already scheduled for Friday) but Winstep Xtreme still needed some work on features that are specific to it. Usually all versions are released at the same time, but unfortunately this was not possible now because of the Cnet exclusive. So you can just wait a little while longer and get the official update next week (the Winstep Update Manage
By the way, Nexus is currently featured on the front page of Cnet's Download.com . [e digicons]|-)[/e]
And you can colorize all the animated particle effects, which means you actually have a TON of variations.
You can use Cris'n'Soft stand alone Stacks. Native Stacks support unfortunately had to be pushed back for the next release - and it will NOT be a feature of the free version of the Nexus dock anyway, only Nexus Ultimate, which already has sub-docks ('dock categories').
Winstep version numbers are based on Year.Month, and this release was supposed to have come out in August (10.8), which was when that preview video was made. Unfortunately some last minute features (plus having to wait for the Cnet Download.com exclusive that is currently going on) delayed the release by a month.
Winstep has released Nexus v10.9 (and Nexus Ultimate v10.9). The Winstep Nexus Dock is a FREE professional dock for Windows. The v10.9 release features a system tray on the dock, Windows 7 "superbar" abilities (even on XP) with Aeropeek (Vista/7
Hi guys. Sorry but the Start Menu glitch is another one that is just not going to be fixed This is a glitch in Windows itself that makes that right area of the panel not draw when its location is anywhere but where it expects to be. (Well technically this isn't a glitch in windows, just an odd inflexibility!) Will keep looking for hacks to work around in, but otherwise, sorry
I can confirm the same thing under Windows 7 with Winstep
A bit late, but for the benefit of others, there's a FAQ post on how to apply to the beta forums here . You need to be a registered Winstep user to have access, of course (which you now are).
