It appears to still be possible to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free.
I can confirm this because that is exactly what I just did. I used a Win7 Pro serial I had here to activate Windows 10, so you CAN still do it.

Going to have the pleasure to experience this first hand, now that I moved my main developing environment to a new Windows 10 machine (I hanged on to 7 for as long as I could). If you don't hear from me ever again, you already know what happened. [e digicons]:P[/e]

Yes, but you have to know their AppID. That doesn't get you their icon though, which is actually a separate PNG image (among many variations of the same image) which you probably can't get to anyway because the folder where UWP apps normally reside is off limits even to users running with admin rights. In the end, it's possible but just way too much hassle (and doesn't solve the problem of showing running applications). Because Winstep applications are fully Windows 10 compati

At the top of my mind, here are the problems with any dock not specifically updated for Windows 10: 1. You can NOT add shortcuts to UWP apps to the dock, unless you point to an existing shortcut (.lnk) file instead of the app itself. This is because UWP apps are not Win32 executables. 2. If you are using the dock to show running applications, UWP apps will appear as two blank entries in the dock, even when closed and cannot be properly manipulated. This happens becaus
According to CrystalDiskMark the SSD is doing 280 MB per second read, 260 MB per second write. I believe it's plugged into a SATA 2 port, this board is too old to do SATA 3.
Well, that's probably your problem right there. SATA 2 can only reach a theoretical maximum of 300 MB/s, while SATA 3 can reach up to 600 MB/s. On a SATA 3 port the 256GB Mushkin Source SSD would/should be able to reach 560 MB/s sequential read and 515

Errr... have you already tried benchmarking the thing from within Windows? Just download and run CrystalDiskMark or AS SSD Benchmark, then compare your results to others out there. Also, what gen SATA port is the SSD connected to? Is it SATA Gen III (6Gb/s)?
I have never had that problem on Windows 7, I do not remember if I had experienced it with windows 10. I suspect it is like any software, some play nice on some systems but not everyone's.
The problem is that Microsoft with their UWP apps threw out the rule book of how to detect applications that are running and what it means for an application to be closed (UWP apps are never really closed, they remain suspended once you open

Just to clarify for anyone reading this that might get the wrong idea: Nexus Ultimate does not 'expire', this is NOT rental nor subscription software. What DOES expire is the 1 year period of free updates. After that year, if you want to get more updates you need to renew the update subscription for another year for a fraction of the price you originally paid for the application. You DO NOT have to do this unless there are updates you want which are already outside your update subscri

Known issue in v18.12: The Disable final boing effect setting in Dock Properties -> Behavior tab -> Auto-Hide Settings is not doing anything. Instead you must use the same setting in the Sub-Docks dialog in the same tab (assuming you are running Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme). Had no idea until now how many people actually used that setting lol

But as soon as v18.12 is officially released... BAM. Sometimes I wonder if they do this on purpose lol

Thanks for the referral, AzDude. :) Just to point something out: RocketDock is really a great dock but is not compatible with Windows 10 UWP apps either (not to mention it hasn't been in active development for years). At this point it seems that Nexus is the only dock 100% compatible with UWP apps (and Windows 10), and also the only dock still in active development.

I think the issue is not so much the executable itself (it appears as 'clean' in both the cloud and client definitions of Windows Defender) but related to the Fast Boot option in
