Yeah, I don't play with unlocked alliances for that reason. The AI backstabs too much imo. Some people like it, some don't. If I play with unlocked teams, I never leave my planets undefended if they are near someone I have a ceasefire with.

Rock/paper/sissors is poor game design. A good design is where you make all ships unique and useful in their own way so the player actually wants to make their army/fleet/whatever diverse not because one of their units won't be able to kill another, but can kill this other one the enemy has, but because they want to use each unit to achieve a different goal. I agree that cruisers are underused, but I rarely get more than 10 cap ships by the end of the game, and they aren't even in the

Yeah, the game doesn't have enough neutral, un-static-defensible grav wells as it is by endgame, don't take away the only ones left.

Yeah, I prefer a more realistic approach as well. When I read in the gameplay section of the original site that you could use gravity to slingshot your ships, I was hooked. Then they took it out. But it's still fun. I have seen on some occasions that ships will rotate on their axis in combat, but not usually, and it usually does create a problem, especially with the overshooting problem.

You mean you could get 29 fps max not min. If you could only get 29 fps min, you wouldn't want to drop the quality. More is better when it comes to fps, makes it run smoother.

I take it you guys have never used the marza's missile barrage ability then. If you saw that in action, you would see how valuable they are. You also probably have never used the dunov's shield restore, or else you would see the usefulness in that. And @ dai: The whole point of my post was to explain that the devs aren't using current ship classifications to merit combat ability. I understand that a modern day dreadnought (which I don't think exists, carriers trump most othe

The ships have very little weight, weight is a measure of the pull of gravity, therefore ships in space are going to have very little weight until they get close enough to a planet for the pull of gravity to mean something. They can however, have much mass, which is a measurement of the amount of matter present in an object.

No ground combat in this game, already stated by the devs. And I like the level of control over strikecraft, you can order them around when you need to, but otherwise they prioritize (usually correctly, although there are still some issues with this) their own targets.

The carrier in sins is not a traditional carrier. It is a battleship designed to support strike craft, not an aircraft carrier. And the dreadnought has the raze planet ability, and that does a hell of a lot more damage than siege frigates, you just can't use it all that often. You'll see the dev team has taken many liberties with commonly used naval ship classifications, some of which don't match modern day classifications at all. And the reason why all the cap ships are

Thank you lordkosc. Funny thing though, although the US is a playable side in the game, you can't select the US as your home country in the sign up?

I was thinking about this today, towards endgame, there is almost no neutral territory in between factions. Every planet is colonized in a system and excluding the sun which noone fights in (haven't figured out why the AI is so afraid of fighting in the star's gravwell) you are either in friendly territory or enemy territory (which is usually heavily fortified on one side). Why not make more uncolonizable gravwells other than the star, I dunno, black holes or something (unrealistic f

But the planet types are different. Terran has higher pop cap, thus higher taxes, ice has more crystal nodes (not metal though), volcanic gives you more fleet logistic points, and I think desert has more orbital logistics points? Not sure what the benefit of asteroids are though.

To turn yourself clockwise, you would need one thruster in the front left firing at the same time one in the back left was firing at the same thrust, thus cancelling out any lateral momentum, but each thruster would push the opposing end in the opposite direction. Hope that was in english for you guys.

Actually, I think the AI uses "bomb" in place of "attack" (don't think I've ever heard the AI tell me to "attack" a planet, just bomb). And since uninhabited planets tend to have pirates, what the AI wants you to do is help them get rid of the pirates.

Sprite games were the stuff (don't want the devs yelling at me). I miss the days when games were sprite driven. 3D is cool and all, but sometimes old school is better.

Massive Games says Hey guys, come try it. Unlike some people here, I don't have unlimited HD space to download everything I want. Therfore, before I uninstall something then reinstall it, I want to know what

I don't mean to be a nagger or annoying, but could someone please answer my question? The concept looks pretty cool, and I would like to know how it's going to play.
