Rebellion is $40 without the discount. If you get Trinity for $20 (you'd have to wait on a sale on that, unless some brick & mortar stores sell it for $20), then you'll get Rebellion for $30, for $50 total.. so in that case you'd pay $10 more than Rebellion alone, but you'd get all the current Sins content to mess around with and learn.
Why do you think that, annatar? The cost savings and time benefit along with the connectivity would (to me) seem self evident.
I work in a health system with about ~80 combined hospitals and clinics, and we actually support another mobile device for ordering/tracking medications on patients. The device is little more than a glorified PDA/armband scanner with some custom software to order/track meds, and runs about $1600 per unit. Something like this would easily cost a
As great as this is, it won't see widespread use for a long time. On top of the cost-per-unit, trying to train every nurse/provider (many of whom are not very tech-savvy) how to operate one of those is not the easiest thing to do.
Rebellion will have everything. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to wait until the end of the year or not. If you get Trinity, you will be able to get $10 off Rebellion. Or you can preorder Rebellion, but it won't be out until close to the end of the year or later, though the beta for it will start earlier (and preordering will give you access). The choice is yours :)
I think the Tactics thing is on the char sheet for each person.
What I did not like most on combat in DAO was how the combatants were running around each other like crazy chicken. You tried to form a protective line of warriors, but the enemies just jogged between them and all whacked your mage.
You will run into the same issue in DA2. The good thing is, you get Taunt very early on so with good positioning you can keep things off your mage. Like Xia said, tactics were pretty important
Yes, Rebellion has all the content.
If you thought DA:O combat was chaotic (I disagree on that, but..), then DA2's combat would be more so. They made everything faster, and at least in the beginning it seems that you face a lot more enemies at once in general. I started on Nightmare difficulty (highest possible) and had several tough fights already that required several reloads. I've only gotten as far as the demo took us (minus stuff with Isabella, that was a continuity break), but the Ogre fight was pretty tactical as

Nice thread hijack :P
Hopefully we'll be able to change the camera distances in a ".ini" file somewhere.
Alas, the only .ini I was able to find doesn't have any more options than the configuration utility itself. It's possible more will be created when the game is first run, we'll have to see I guess.
In DA:O every environment had to be "sliced off" at the top to achieve the iso view. They said that was limiting what they could do with the environments so they ditched it in
Not really.. I've got a pair of GTX 285s in SLI and there's not been a single game that even forced me to turn SLI on :P Will see how it looks, I'm more concerned about the particle effects (spells) than textures atm. The demo's fire effects were rather lacking when compared to DA:O :P
Well, the max speed reduction is only I think 5-6 km/s or so, not too big of a deal. The way these maps are, it's very rare for any heavy tank to actually reach max speed, there are always hills to climb and very few maps have slopes down or level field long enough to accelerate to the max :P The mantlet was supposed to be improved in this last patch, but they decided to do it on the Maus first to see the impact.. so I dunno. Hopefully!
I was getting worried that the DA2 preload is a only a bit more than half than DA:O (5gb down from 9). At least this texture pack will bring it up to a respectable amount :P Good find, thanks! I'll have to download it at home tonight so I don't waste time tomorrow instead of playing. Even though I don't have a DX11 card, should still see an improvement I imagine.
It sounds like the UI may have been pushed to a Mass Effect 2 style - Minimalized with skills perhaps appearing with a menu that you can get to when you pause the game with a hotkey? I wasn't even thinking about it coming out. I haven't even bought it. I was a Dragon Age Collector Edition purchaser, but i didn't buy Awakening or anything beyond that first one. The game was decent and I didn't trust the DLC's. But then
Well, there is a "demo", but it won't show you much in terms of content. You get the tutorial and the first mission, so you can see how it plays but it's incredibly limited. It's odd that they don't have a free 7-day or something trial, it's pretty common for the older MMOs to start offering those. http://www.startrekonline.com/demo
I got work :( But I'm on call today and if it gets bad overnight (which is very rare, but possible), then I'd have an excuse to stay home tomorrow :P
I thought I saw an Annatar11 on my team one match but I was afraid I was thinking of the wrong person D:
Nope, if you saw an Annatar11 then that's me :)
Sadly, the current version is the release version according to the devs. (Or not, they've been throwing around lots of new info as time goes on. But this patch took forever and a day and release is in a couple weeks now.) Love-Hate game. A bad match can leave you cursing th
Some will undoubtedly be craptastic, but AFAIK they have a similar thing for City of Heroes and it's worked well. In any MMO the amount of content is limited. STO suffers especially because unlike traditional MMOs there aren't any "raids" where it takes months of repeated running to get your awesome gear set. There's just no way they can put out enough content by themselves, even though they've added a lot since launch. It's a win-win for everyone to release a mission maker. Lots of people lo
Raven, I agree with both #1 and #2 in the OP, but I'll add one more thing I didn't like: the combat control scheme. Having locked camera that follows your character, combined with the same one-click RMB to move and attack is bad. Accidentally right clicking on empty ground when a creature moves out of the way can cause your whole camera to spin around and then you have to figure out where the heck everyone went to try and go back to the fight. Also, the demo visuals did not impress me at all.
Yes, because SD has just as much money to throw at it as Valve does. Feel free to post a list of "a lot of games" that were updated, though.
No, actually, it's the store's fault for selling you a used game that's been registered before. But yeah, your best bet is to return it and buy it from Impulse.
Well, the main problem is you pay someone to play your LoL account and get you to high ELO ranking. Then you play a game and completely screw over your team because you're terrible and should be nowhere near that ELO. If it only affected the player doing it I could care less, but in team games when you screw over your team because you suck and just paid someone to get you there.. :/
It should, however, include all of the Entrenchment and Diplo content.
