Just tried, no dice. It is taking longer to get the error message, though.
Well my joy was very short-lived. You can access the MV page from these forums now, but trying to post new game results creates a ""The metaverse server returned an unrecognized response. Please try connecting again later" message. Trying to start a new game results in the same message as well.
This means they have made progress! The box-o-wires has to be plugged in to return the unrecognized response!

Strange what one thinks of at 3:30 am: Stardock just released UE to retail in February. DL and DA are also still in retail. Imagine what all these new customers must think when they come here. The metaverse does not work, ToA has major bugs, we're up in arms, and we have yet to see even one recent statement from Brad about any of this. Because of the retail release, stardock can't just abandon the metaverse, either. At least not without an even worse consequence to their reput

I saw that! Very alarming, indeed. When the IT guys where I work use the word "uncooperative", it usually means that a critical component in the Box-O-Wires has become a glob of smoldering, fused metal. This is usually followed my the revelation that someone took the backup system offline for maintenance right before the meltdown. When our IT guys use the word "maintenance", they really mean that they are having one of their marathon p2p weekends, and needed to use some equipment from the ser

As a matter of fact, I do have a connection issue. The GalCiv2 Metaverse server is still down! When are you going to fix it?
1) Making new avatars. 2) Minor tinkering at the TwP Forum 3) Determining that 700k is the most I'll ever squeeze out of the one MV game I have going. 4) Thinking about trying a DL game. I'll start it as soon as the MV comes back up, and can finish it next time the MV goes down. From what I've read, it looks like a DL game can take a long, long time to complete on suicidal.
In lieu of an actual MV score: This Immense Galaxy experiment worked better than the last one. This galaxy size produces better scores, but also uses more memory. I noticed a significant slowdown from years 4-7 compared to the same timeframe in the Gigantic Galaxy. Now I will go load my 2228 savegame and try to produce another 300k. I doubt I can due to the way the game was set up, but it is
The only real threat to the Metaverse is if people becoming overly demanding and critical and that causes SD to conclude that the Metverse is more trouble than it's worth. Frankly I *really* don't want SD to come to that conclusion. It's good that people show their support for the Metaverse to be fixed, in fact the more the merrier, but at the same time it's important to not show the frustration that goes along with it.
Sign of things to come folks. You have to look a long way down Stardock's list of Importance to find GC2 . And wait till Elemental is released........ I was just reading the Demi#*$& forum, and it appears that their servers just self-destructed. All of them. I'm starting to wonder whether our server really had an "accident", or whether someone at stardock just "borrowed" it for DebacleGod.

Hey, Cl. I wanted to thank you for hiring our new barmaid, Helga! She is a treasure-trove of fascinating information!
