Well, you have to look at the conversation as a whole. "So, how have you been" may well be followed an hour later by "Relax, I do this with my boyfriend all the time. What so you think I'm going to do, run out of the elevator and leave you handcuffed to the railing with your pants down?" "So, what now?" is probably one of the most inherently dangerous questions that a girl can ask. Believe me, any answer that includes the words "toe" and "peanut butter" will invite a dire consequence (E

I'll be happy to post a link to the reasonably clean version when it is done. To tide you over, here is the entire quote:
So*, what have we here? The great Alan Bradley finally lowers himself to returning the poor Atlarian girl's calls? Oh, that's right, I forgot! YOU were too busy (Censored-ing)my SISTER, weren't you! Did SHE fake all her (Censored) for you too? Huh? Did you two make any of those "I swear, baby, nobody will ever see it" videos? Like the one of US that I just got

Well, I can't find it anywhere. I ran across a mention of it in some obscure place while I was surfing for xml-based modding knowledge last year. I think I'll make my own version, but it won't be suitable for posting. I have a particularly good quote in mind for "Low Relations". Something to do with Alan Bradley's "Little Problem"..............

Has anyone heard of a DA mod where the Altarian leader's conversations were altered to be seductive/suggestive/nagging/jealous/etc? I think the categories varied based on the diplomatic relations, and it only worked if the player was Terran. I believe the author claimed that the behavior was modeled after his ex-wife, if that is any help.

Well, my problem was compounded by the fact that I had to send out ships from the new planets with 1/4 to 1/2 loads. I just couldn't get the growth rate to keep up with the colony ship production. I like the Super Breeder idea, though. I'll be willing to bet that the strategy could be made to work by using the SB super ability, and only using some of the new planets for ship production. Thanks, Sole Soul! I'll go give it a try.
.......forum has a few trolls in in it, as I am sure this forum does as well
That would be me. Grumph. As a welcoming present, I will save you from a hideous strategic gameplay error. I have recently been trying to up my "land-grab" skills, and came up with the following fatally-flawed hypothesis(Twilight of The Arnor, Immense Galaxy, Abundant Everything). Don't do this: Build 2 factories on each of the first two planets, then research the abili

I'm just trying to goad someone from StarDock into posting something. Anything. Now, it is obvious to Me that I was hinting that StarDock should either do what they promised to do, or provide some type of statement that communicates their intent to give us an update on their current schedule to keep us informed on any future plans to do what they promised to do in the first place. I apologize if I failed to effectively communicate that subtile intent in a sufficiently obvious manner.

I think it’s time for a little Old Fart Wisdom. In my 22 years in the consulting industry, I have never seen a customer-relations situation handled in quite this manner. Sure, I’ve seen this type of situation arise before, I’ve even Caused this type of situation. I’ve never seen anyone handle it with such a……non-standard……approach. As an example, it is not uncommon for us to provide our Clients with 30%, 60%, and 90% review copies of our deliverables. Sometimes, in out haste, we may for

That's good to know. I hope he means an average of 1 per turn (ie 3 planets that each produce a ship every 3 turns). I think I can pull that off, but I will have to work very hard on surviving the consequences that are brought on by getting too many colonies too fast. Its all practice and "feel", I think. With your tip in mind, I am now off to TA-land get about 6 hours of both. Thanks for the info!!!! ps Thats TA, not T&A. No dancing girls until I get the walkthrough finished.........

Very good points! Since my last post, I discovered that I can manually set the AI of my "subjects" to Incredible and leave the other AI players at Normal. This boosts the game difficulty, but I get to see the AI (Terrans/Thalans in this case) perform at a pretty high level. I probably should have also mentioned that I am stopping after 1 to 2 years and starting new games to observe. Another option I discovered: I can set everything on Masochistic, ctrl x to set the game in ful

The Drath are definately more effective in TA. They don't generally survive very long, but they sure can cause more trouble than they could in DA. They are "out" of the high difficulty games until I get the hang of Masochistic. What I am going to do with the Walkthrough for now is: A study of the AI playing style, which will be educational for me as well as the reader. I will set the difficulty at Normal to put the AI at the same disadvantage that I will suffer at a high difficulty sett

That is a great critique!!! I especially appreciate the strategic suggestions. For some reason, I have never really gotten the hang of playing with planets full of factories. I also have not experimented with settings above Tough. If I hope to ever be competitive in the metaverse, I will have to learn to play more ambitiously. I usually go for Ethics (neutral or evil) near the end of 2229, so that part did not end up in this installment. The 100% economic bonus definately makes Evil ali

The link below (no ads, cookies, etc.) is a walkthrough that I would eventually like to submit to the Wonderful Magical Mr. Drengin for inclusion in his TA For Dummies site. For now, I would like some feedback on the general format and content. My strategy is not, by any means, the End All and Be All of Korx strategies, but it works on a consistent basis. This takes the player through the first 2 years, and shows the new player some of the basic features. I use 1440 x 900, and my scre

I typically go for: Map: Gigantic or immense. I like to play against 9 major races. Habitable planets: Occasional or common. Number of Planets: Common Stars/Anomolies/Asteroids: Abundant Scattered star density. Minor races: 8 w/Tech Stealing off. Tech Speed: I set it on Very Slow most of the time. I have not developed a preference for Tech Trading, Blind Exploration, or Mega Events yet. Here's what I generally do

I would also like to be able to toggle the bonus tiles. I am still trying to develop strategies involving different initial settings, and the random bonus tiles make it harder to evaluate the results.

Go to the folder C:\......My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and delete the .customracexml file. If it is for DA, the folder will be named GC2DarkAvatar. For DL, it is called GalCiv2.

I am new to the metaverse experience, and have some questions after trying an experimental TA Tournament game. Here's what I did: 1) Created character, no problem. 2) Started TA, logged in, started a game on normal difficulty. I saved the game, disconnected, and played with it for a while. After establishing that I couldn't achieve a score greater than 11, 200, I started another one at "tough" to see if the scoring increased with the difficulty. 3) I uploaded the event

I have not played any Metaverse games yet, but I enjoy an occasional foray into Korathdom at home. I also like to buy spore ships from the Korath when I am playing as other races.

Here are two minor suggestions: The Xinathium Hull Plating does not seem to be as useful now that there are HP modules. Perhaps some other improvement can be substituted. I would not mind seeing a military production or loyalty-boosting trade good. It would be nice if the Korx could regain some or all of their -20 loyalty points. My suggestion: Mercenary Academy: +5 Freighter Command +5 A loyalty-boosting trade good.
