More of a bug, but I finished a quest and didn't get the reward. It was a level 3 quest involving defeating spiders and being awarded a magical tunic of some sort. Needless to say I didn't get the tunic. There have been several quests where the rewards aren't always awarded.

Couple of bugs. I'll post from another thread that seems to have died. [quote] I got an OOM myself. Sent the err file to support. Vista 32 machine. A few other things that are currently broken 1) Faction Creator colors (since 1.06) 2) Names on cities get messy. Eventually the name labels on my cities show up as other civs city titles. Eventually the name labels on my cities show up as other civs city titles. This includes name, color, and combat rating number. The whole name bar is replaced. (since 1.00) There are a few other things, but I will have to play to remember what they were. I'll add them as I find the

I've been waiting for that "end all be all" space game. Sins of a Solar Empire is probably my overall favorite but really crave something more on the RPG/FPS scale. DarkStarOne comes close, but is far too linear. The space combat in Starwars Galaxies was quite enjoyable for me when I was in a lone fighter. Eve Online has a fair amount of depth, but the combat and general controlling is not my cup of tea. I'd also like something that isn't limited to space. I want to play my character (and shi

I'm not. I'm quite glad it came out when it did. Those with the loudest voices against its "condition at release" were those who pirated the game and couldn't get the release patch. They got a buggy prerelease version and were upset about it. Anyway, i can see from a customer standpoint of where they were unfamiliar with Stardock as a company and they got a game that was in the shape of 1.05. But the majority of early release players are those that know Stardock from reputatio

It should almost be self regulating like in the civilization games. If there is not enough food, resources, monetary support, etc, then sure, no more build slots. I guess the build limit does add some strategy to things, but most of the time I have some cities that are fully maxed out with unique buildings while others are requiring more build slots to build the last 20 buildings. I haven't quite figured out where the difference between them lies, but I'm just going to wait and see what they

There are ways to "tweak" the city limit in game. When your city is close to things like farms or ore mines, those become "part of the city". Building around these things so they dont connect will save you building space. Or, if you already have something in your city, simply destroy it, build what you need to build and rebuild the thing you destroyed. I've destroyed many farms this way. Anyway, I haven't found I've had really any problems since I've done that. Except for the hybrid cities (o

[quote]Magic resistance could be only produced by champions with magic capability. Then the army's resistance would be the amount of magic power that the champion has divided by the number of soldiers in the company. This would do several things. It would make champions more worthwhile. It would make Imbuing champions worthwhile. It would limit the size of armies so that they dont grow super large. It would also make magic as epic as it should be for this sort of game.

Adding to my previous post, Imbuing magic should be element based. So you would have to imbue a champion several different times in order for them to have all of the spells available. Each time would increase their essense and decrease the sovs, but to sacrifice say 12-20 essense per unit would balance out the strength of magic.

It was said the achievements are multiplayer only at this point. I think they will be activated with the multiplayer component this week.

I have to ask. When you started a new game, did you make sure it was set to large? I know it's an obvious question, but gotta ask. Also, are you sure you weren't only on 1 island? The large generated map I played was absolutely huge. Far bigger than the biggest uncustomized map in Civ4. As I mentioned earlier, the civs were spawned around the same side of the map, but the area where 4 of the civs occupied were only about 25% of the total map (and each civ had roughly 4-5 cities each).

Well the large maps really aren't that small. Its more that the civilizations all seem to be bunched together on one end of them. My most recent game (over 1000 turns) is a large map. I've explored the boundaries and the map is absolutely huge. But all of the civs seem to be clustered at one end. It'd be nice if they were more evenly spaced for the size of the map, but starting locations are pregenerated and randomized. I think the game generates a total of 10 spots (or something) and places

I seem to be experiencing a bug where it says I have +50 gildar per turn, but I am losing about 15 gildar per turn instead. Also, do champions cost gildar per turn? I thought they were a one time cost initial cost, but as to my experience, I had a growing stable economy until I started recruiting champions on a fairly large scale (plus all of my offspring champions as well). Now the gildar is as I mentioned in the first sentence. It is like the game isn't showing me what it's spending money o

I've been in between. The game crashes fairly frequently, especially toward end game. But I've been emailing the crash logs to support and browse the forums for a bit before going back into the game. The game needs a bit of smoothing out, balancing, and generally stabilizing, but Stardock is known for getting its products working beautifully over time. I went into this game knowing full well what to expect as far as a release product goes. I also went into the game knowing almost noth

What might help with making the value to Imbuing your champion with magic would be if every level increase automatically adds 0.25 essense or something to that champion. Keeping the option to add a full skill point to essense if the player chooses to increase that, but still giving the benefit of essense increase even if the champion is given strength as their attribute at that level. 0.25 wouldn't be game breaking either as I rarely get champions above level 10. Thats potentially around 2 fu

Ahh cool. I was confused because on a game I was playing yesterday (pre 1.05) I would choose an orange (unlikely) and the next turn the same tech would show back up. I think it was like Refined Housing or some such sort. Anyway, I figured either I wasn't "getting" it or it was reoccuring (or possiblity bugged). Anyway, at least I know what to look for now :) Thanks!

Because this a "research" thread, I'll ask this here. I am slightly confused on how research works. Say I click on Military and there is a list of "possiblities". Once that research finishes, I am given all of the green ones (that dont say likely/unlikely) plus a couple that say likely/unlikely. Now as I understand it, I can choose any of the greens that will guarantee I get that particular research. What I am confused on is the likely/unlikely ones. I've noticed that they dont always
