I love Risk always have but I got the Lord of the Rings risk a few years ago and that blew away the normal risk. Plus it can be faster depending if you play with the Fellowship or not. Very fun game. Now if only they make a computer game of that.

I would rather have residential structures be built automatically as your city grows in population, or an automatic upgrade feature where your buildings grow as needed to support population growth. (I hope the anti-automation police find this acceptable)
As long as it is optional. I like to micromanage my TBS game.

(which I believe was space bar) making it true turn-based. Very few people did this, because it was kinda annoying (you say "go here and attack" and that command doesn't really change
Everyone that I know that played the Baulder Gate series set th
My worry is that when companies that are known for the traditional TBS type games start to create a hybrid it speaks to other companies completely giving up on the traditional turnbased system (especially if Elemental turns out to be a huge hit - which I believe it will). Elemental is turn based on the strategic map, as was Gal Civ. Gal Civ's battles were all auto-resolve. I don't understand how this is a dramatic departur

I know its only a matter of opinion, but your saying you would prefer something like this in a fantasy setting: Over this?:
<span style="font-size: 7.5pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana; mso-fareast

I set parameters instead of making up a story ahead of time that players must follow. Instead, I create a world that ascribes to certain rules, use the dice as a "random" element to determine geographical and geological ranges during the world's creation, and then cut the players loose to discover thei
Quoting Bellack, reply 30 I personally hope they will not hold tech back to a medieval level. I would like to see some civilitions delelope high tech/low magic while others have High Magic/low tech. I'd really rather Not see guns and tanks and planes in this game. Maybe for a total conversion mod or something, but not in the base game.
We will just have to agree to disag
I have to admit this is probably the aspect of the game I am most skeptical about. I've always considered a sharp divide between fantasy and technology settings and I believe one of the hallmarks of fantasy is that it is stuck in a technological time warp (typically medieval times). Another cause for concern for me is the fact that the research mechanic tends to be one of the least interesting aspects of a strategy game, as players tend
You probably just need to know wht folder you need to save the XML into. For some reason this has not been documented anywhere.Honestly I can't believe the lack of documentation on how to use the editors and where under the file structure to save and find files, it makes what look like pretty feature rich editors frustrating and useless.
I have to agree here. I was very excited about the Editors excpecially the ship editor. However once I attempted to use them I was lost.

Using the Ship Editor how do I attach a ship style to a certain race. Or create new ships styles for new races. And are there any instruction on how to work the editorsb for TOA.

Posted my first game in the TA tournament but I see no score under my account. I played "Between a Rock and a Hard Place" and at the end it asked if I wanted my score posted. I said yes. Well that was yesterday and when I go into TA Tournament and log in. My score says zero. How long does it take games to post?

I am almost finished with my first tournment game in TA I have never used Metaverse before so I'm sure I'm missing something. After the game is finished how do you post the score in the tournment section? The senario that I played was Between a rock and a Hard place."
But we WANT to be able to play as the Dread Lords............
I have to agree here. It should be an option to play the Dread lords as well as the other minor races if we set the senario up that way. And I would love to see them as a player race anyway.
Hello,Without doubt I'll be ordering TA. However, one of the features that interests me the most is "AI designed ships." I don't enjoy designing my own ships and this addition will increase my enjoyment of GC 2 greatly.Any beta feedback on "AI designed ships?"Thank you!
I tried it and it's ok but I don't use it. I like to design my own ships. Infact that is the best part of the game IMO.

I also noticed that the Colony module says it holds 500m colonist but it really only holds 250m colonist. Now it would be nice if it actully held 500 but what ever it does hold please fix the description. Thanks. Oh and the troop transport pods do hold what the description says they hold.
