So are we going to be able to create custom ships for our custom races with the ship editor that I see (but not implamented yet) in the Editors section of the game. And if so will thes ships only show up for that race.
I think Alpha Centauri was the most developed TBS in terms of an immersive story/setting. Even just the hundreds of voiceover quotes from the faction leaders could be quite mesmerizing. I didnt like the gameplay as much as some other TBS games though. Sentient species taste better...
Wait a minute, Alpha Centauri was TBS I thought it was RTS. In fact that is the reason I never tried it was because I thought it was an RTS game.
There is one thing I would like when we have a finished version and that is a way to print out Tech tree of each race.I find I cant remember which race has what tech and where that tech is on the tech tree !This would be of great help to me and I'm sure others.I especially like playing different races and I play with tech trading off !For me it keeps the races individual and different.
I agree with this. And if we create new tech I would like them to be printed as well. T
Well personaly I would love for Gal2 to also be multi-player without giving up anything in the game. And I see no reason what so ever for this not to be done. Those who are against multi-player seem to think that you will have to take away from the game to make this happen and if the devs go with lazy programming they may be right, but I don't believe it has to be that way. I don't mind waiting for my turn in a multiplayer game if the game has depth and is fun. And I think that if the devs were
How would you do that?
I have a question, How do you create a race for a certain race where that ship design will only show for that race. I have 3 custom Human type races that I make ships for in the game and save the Templates as I play but all these templates show up no matter which human race I play or play against. The races I created are Star Treks UFP, Stargate Command, and The Earth Forces in Babylon 5. And they all including the Terrans show all the ship designs that I created in game
I'm very eagerly awaiting this game, and hope it will be as addictive as MoM and GC2. I am dubious about the idea of the magic-based fantasy TBS game being a pre-quel to GC though. It's a very tricky propostion to reconcile these two wildy different realites. Some fantasy/sci-fi writers have succeeded, but most have fallen short in my opinion.Definitely TBS is the way to go...I second GW Swicord's faugh about RTS! Sentient species taste better...
Magic could very w
In another thread where NotMoM2 is a side point, Kryo said "it looks like it'll be a GC prequel set on ancient Altaria (but that's just what I've gathered based on public comments..." A Galciv prequel would be nice but it should be foccused on the Arnor and Dreadlords and it should be a RTS.
I agree with you until you said it should be a click-fest um I mean RTS. The last thing we need is yet another mind numbing RTS game. Please, please, please stay Tun-Based or do a com
Is the Personality Tab in TOA active yet? When I create a custom race the tab is grayed out.
I have a question about the Personality Tab when making a Custom race in Twilight of Arnor, is it active? When I go to the tab, it is grayed out. Without this I cannot make a Good or Evil race.
Ok I have checked the Metaverse Q&A type post but they don't answer a simple question that I have. What excatly is Metaverse? Now I now how to access it from my game and all but if GAL2 is not a multi-player game then how do you compete with one another as I seen talked about on the forums. Now I been playing GAL2 gold ed. since November and I'm now playing the beta of the new expansion (which is awsome by the way) and I have been tempted to going into the metaverse. <P
I actually don't know the answer to your question but I do have to congratulate you on setting the record for the longest post title on these forums.
Well thank you. I would like to thank all the little people in my life that contrubuted to this record. :) Well I wanted to make sure I worded the question right.
Guys, Blizzcon is awful. Its main purpose is to glorify themselves over other developers. As if they weren't snide enough. Like I said before, the main reason people go there is because PC Gamer likes Blizzard games (all of which are over rated) You could take a Crysis player, a Battlefield 2142 junkie, or GalCiv2 player , send them to Blizzcon, and they'll come out Warcraft geeks and Starcraft (shudders) losers. It's stupid. My advice, play games that are actually fun.Anyone read my
Ok first off WOW did not make anyone do anything. 2nd almost anything can become addictive if you let it. Now I know in our brave new world we are no longer responsible for our own actions and that it is always someone or something else’s fault that we do the things we do. But I don't subscribe to this point of view nor do I believe in Political Correctness. Does that make me a rebel or a racist (I'm sure that since I disagree with the concept someone somewhere will try to use the race card even
I have both games too and I think GalCivII is the better game. SoSE impresses with its scale of universe and the huge fleets. It makes a lot of fun in the Multiplayer. But if you have a working strategy most of the games are nearly the same (especially in the Singleplayer). Vinraith is right, SoSE feels more RTS-like as 4x-like. GalCivII has much more depth in the 4x-area "eXplore". There are more different ways of playing and I love to design my own ships. So, if you don't like to play m
Is Sins like Homeworld? I loved the HW series it and the Total War series are the only RTS games to date that I liked. I usally hate RTS.
Question about the event that says a minor race stole all the tech from one of the major races and is willing to give it to you for a price. Perferrabley a planet. My question is what is this all about. I would go to the minor race to trade with and they have no new tech then the last time I check with them (I check often with the minor races.) So is this event just a bug. I have seen this on both the DA and the new expansion (the one in beta can't remeber the name off
To me the game is more important than any back story. So this does not bother me so much. Besides every game we play is it's own story.
I thought you could set the victory conditions before playing the game. I only assume this because I play with all victory condidtions enabled
Ok I'll try that thanks.
I have another question, once I upgrade a ship design in the Ship Managment section (and I have this ship already in use on the map) why does the upgrade screen that comes not show the ship that you want to upgrade. It shows all others of the same class(ship size.) now maybe I'm doing something wrong and if so please educate me :)
Ok so there is an over all strategic TBS portion of the game (GalCiv 2). Then when you’re in battle you go to the RTS section of the game (Homeworld?) Well if this is the case then it does sound like the single player version of Total War but in space. If this is the case then I just may have to get htis game.
Well I normally hate RTS games with 2 noted exceptions, The Homeworld series and the Total War series (granted total war is both a TBS (solo unfortunately) and RTS.) All others that I've tried have been nothing but boring clickfest with little time for civilization development. I now usually avoid them like the plague unless they have a TBS element with them. So is Sins of a Solar Empire another boring clickfest or is there a TBS element to it? What game does it mostly resemble in play style?
I work in window mode for my programs all the time but I can't play a game in window mode. Don't you find this distracting?
TBS games should move at a slower pace. If they are too fast then you have a RTS game and IMHO RTS games suck. For my instant Gratification fix I play shooters like COD4 and BF2 or I play MMO's like DDO (currently) and AoC (in the future)
