There is apparently a bug in the game with the bonus you get to speed when trading for the Gravity Accelerators. On this thread: https://forums.galciv2.com/335137 Sole Soul ran a test and confirmed that the bonus wasn't granted. I would be curious too if any bonuses are given when you get trade goods from other races. Or if the AI has gotten them from me. This last part is easy enough

I just love getting those free ships. I do not know why this happens, again its seems somewhat random after some criteria is met maybe. It sounds odd that the Korx would give their best, if not only ship. Especially since, if you tried to buy it from them, it would cost you a lot. I once had the Terrans give we ships on 3 consecutive turns. The last being even after the was i was fighting was over.
economic capital first (which of course lacks a starport) to have it establish a trade route from there afterwards.
I understand this isn't the question of the post, but you seem to have a misconception here about your economic capital which is pretty common. The planet you have your economic capital on certainly doesn't have to have a starport, but to say "of course it lacks one" makes me wonder what you think about the planet this is on. Unlike the resea

I've never read about any definitve information on AI surrenders. All that MAC said sounds reasonable, but I don't know if the AI does all that comparing. My guess is that there are certain parameters for a surrender and then theres a die roll to see if that AI actually does surrender. Now how they choose who to surrender to is another mystery entirely. It just seems random. The korx would sell you the Ranger based on your offer, your relations and your diplomacy, I don't think it would
when your empire is expanding fast in the middle of the game due to conquering planets it's also good to have aphrodisiac which increases popgrowth by 50%,
DOH !! [e digicons]X|[/e] I missed that one. You only need to start worring about higher populations when you get above, say 11 billion. Depends of course on what you are trying to set taxes on and what kind of morale boosts you have. But generally with
I got this after picking off the Drath legion very early in the game once. The Altarians, Iconians, and Torians all ganged up on me. Of course, they were on the other side of the galaxy, so they did a lot of wheel spinning, but not much actual attacking.
This sounds like the Drath using their superability. Except that you say it happened after they were gone.

In short, the best way to increase population faster is to have high morale. AT 100% you get double the growth rate, at 75% its something like 1.5 x normal rate and at 41% its normal. Below 41% morale theres no growth and below 21% you lose population. This rate is per planet. The Torian superability gives a much higher growth rate for 100% approval. But you'd have to stay at that level. Keep an eye on those thresholds. Remeber that the growth rate is based partly on the current popul

If you couquor a few minors you can get the non-mega event where its says "...the war is expanding". and everyone jumps on you. I don't know how many minors it takes and how much time you need between them. And why it doesn't happen for killing off majors. I have seen it happen TO AI players. Anyway I'm not sure if this is what you got. I used to play Civ 2 and in that game I'd always get messages from the other civs that made no sence. Like telling me I start t

I think home sale prices around here have dropped off a lot. But thta is mosyly due to an oversaturation of new home over that last 15 years or so. What were corn fields are now 100 unit single family home developments. Being near the PA / NJ border, there was a real draw for people from NJ to come to the Lehigh Valley. HOme prices went up but were still a lot less that the same houses would be in NJ and the commute to the higher paying jobs as far away as NYC is worth it to many people.

I can't see having any game without constructors. At the very least you'd want / need to get the resouces mined. But even without the resources I still build starbases in every game. Usually its just economic starbases for the +24 bonus to production and research. I like to play with tight clusters so that i can get the most planets inside of a economic starbase's ring. When its safe in the area I'll have at least one starbase at each cluster in my empire; occassionally 2. Not every s

I play mostly on large maps and I just don't get into using them. I guess i should. Generally when a ship is constructed i just send it to a point sopmewhere near where I'd want it. When a few ships start to converge I'll adjust the end point of their trips and make a fleet. SOmetimes I'll just pick a point in a general direction but not too far of a trip and then pick a new destination when that ship prompts me for movement.

Part of your tiredness and over sleeping could be just from your age. When i was your age I slept 12 hours at a time when i could. I think with all that your body is going through it naturally wants more rest. I think the first response was dead on too, that your body wants what it keeps getting. Eating habits and sleeping habits seem to have this in common. Another thing you might consider is that you have sleep apnea. This is when you actually stop brething while you sleep. Your bod

LMAO referencing Monk. The mistake should have been found that day. Why this couple had time to do what they did is beyond me. I guess they hoped the bank would never know what happened. If they only repoted $3800 in income from him but she says they get lottsa big checks, big enough that they didn't even notice $175,000-ish... well i think the IRS might want in on this too. btw... where is bloomburg PA? I'm in they Lehigh Valley. Should I call you Pisan?

From response 2644.
I've been playing some Civ4 again lately. Sometimes I play with my own made-up victory condition, which I call "jihad". I try to get as much of the world's population to have my state religion. If it is Adama what would that do to Apollo's nature? That would be interesting. BTW the show was cooler when Apollo was his name and not his nickname. So who could it be? Hmmm CAn't really be Starbuck since she was used for whatever experiment on New Caprica BUT the other cylons didn't know who the other 5 were. I thought that the machine did work and he didn't tell anyone. However we find out later that a lot more people are really cylons and they were tested with negative res

Now if adama is the last cylon i'll puke. the show stopped making sence a long time ago, but that would be a bit much, bad enough that Colonal Tigh is one. Maybe everyone is EXCEPT for Adama. I mean isf the cylons were originally looking to kill all humans and only had a change of heart / mind after some time, then why have the sleepers sleeping for so long? The humans only escaped Caprica by luck, with the cylons that were in the fleet and especially on the Galactica the chase could ha
