While not wanting to behoove anyone's foreskin, I agree with the post as a whole. Those threads are quite rare in the GalCiv forums and I'm glad if that. I've also noticed that the regular GalCiv crowd tends to stay clear of them for the most part when they do pop up. Kryo is absoluetly right in that they invariably cause problems. I believe they get started just for that purpose. And sry about the childish pun of my own. I told myself not to type it, but it wound up on my screen some
It's a bird... It's a plane... It's a frog... A FROG ??!!
You can quick-buy economic and research structures (as well as any structures) too.
Seems we have a bug.
Maybe it can be named after me... like a new disease. Call it ... Yars Revenge. lol Anyway, thank you Sole Soul. At least I know I'm not nuts. Wonder if its always been there and no one noticed. Nice to know that you can probably sell it to every AI and know that they won't benefit. [e digicons]}:)[/e] . Now I'll wonder about all of the other trade goods. Like I said, this was my first game that I didn't
I stopped using morale structures. By end game I'll have planets with a full 13 billion population and morale in the 60's tax rate can still be at or near 79% (at 80% things get bad). Having your approval in the 90's isn't doing anything special for your empire. In fact, once a planet hits its maximum population, morale can stay at 22% as long as you can still win elections that is. However, there are some occassional planets that have abnormally low morale levels that may get a boost fr
Speaking for DA Depending on the size of the galaxy, late game i usually have all PQ 10 or less nothing but stock exchanges and a farm and maybe a single research building. A typical planet for me has no morale buildings, unless i have a farm on a bonus tile, then i MIGHT build one. I build one farm and a starport, the rest will be half factories and half stock exchanges with maybe one lab for every planet. If the plant will have more than 4 industrial sectors then I'll b

No I'm still on 1.80g. Thanks Sole Soul
Cypher, I wouldn't worry too much about the game or forums. Look what happens when a good thread gets started; you've gotten a lot of responses already. The reason for the slow down is that there are fewer NEW players, so the questions that get asked are fewer and farther between. Most of the older players are still around but just don't have as much to talk about. Yes, there are a few guys that we don't see anymore or just not enough but I still see a lot of the guys that answered all of my
I am playing DA so Its a base speed of 1. I'm the Thalans btw. So heres the problem. I have all threshold speed techs and i KNOW that i traded the Terrans for the Gravity Accelerators. They beat me to it and on the next turn I made sure I got it, for the sole purpose of getting to a speed of 5 w/o engines. All of my un-engined ships have a speed of 4. I think that I'm just not getting the benefits from the Gravity Accelerators. Since I have never not gotten them before I don't
Playing with stars in "tight clusters" can simulate choke points. You get large areas of blank space, so you have a better chance of knowing from where an invasion may come. Thats my really short answer.
"I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords." - Kent Brockman, The Simpsons
LMAO- i remember that one.
I find that the AI will put a lot of energy into going after star bases, especially resource bases. I once had a superior AI military destroyed when it came after a star base defended by one of my only fleets. One by one the enemy fleets attacked and were killed. I was able to replace my losses (1 ship at a time) faster than they could attack. Soon they had nothing left to attack with. I gave my monitor the finger and invaded that AI.
When our morale drops below 21% from over population, 10% of the population will vanish each week... problem solved.
I think the econ bonus is not listed on purpose. That bonus is only operative when that government is in use, but the influence and diplomacy bonuses are operative regardless.
Ah yes, of course.
The color for each planets' approval does not coincide with the above modifiers. You can use the over all color as Willythemailboy said. But the colors you see on you planet list are different for each planet and don't give an idication of how the vote will go. I just go by the number and not the color. To win the elections for Republic through Federation you just need a vote total that is greater than any other party. As Willy said, the color of your approval rating will help determi
Heres a question... without any engines or military starbases, what is the fastest that a ship can be made to go? You get the initial base speed, a +1 for engine techs and then a +1 for gravity accelerators. I thought this would come to 5 but in my game its at 4. The reason I'm asking is that I got the Megaevent that limits ship speed to 5. The map is only large so I figured its still playable. I thought that I could get my ships to the maximum speed without adding
We all know that as we colonize more, the more our initial treasury takes a hit. Since the game does not grant more started cash for larger maps or for greater planet numbers I wondered about how those of you who play maps bigger than large deal with the colony rush. I know one way is to build no structures. But Do you ever stoip colonizing ever with available planets just to keep from going broke? My other question is, how does the AI handle it. I'm guessing that it doesn't know
I was trying to change the pic on my profile... is it called an Avatar? [e digicons]:S[/e] Anyway. it says that its too big. What can i do to get it smaller? I tried to trim it in "paint" but that didn't help. How does everyone else get full pics? I was gonna give the Yar's Revenge dude a rest for a while. I gotta go play that game sometime. anyway, any help will be appreciated.
I still have never seen a Ranger... I want one
I assume that this has / had no bearing on MV games that were already begun. Correct?
Now here is an OLD post about this topic. https://forums.galciv2.com/99723 . Looking at reply #5 it seems that its not related to Star Control. I only ever played the Genesis verions of the game.
