And as the devs said whenever this was brought up, this could be used to purposely gimp your opponents and then use the points in craptastics abilities like.....Loyalty :0
Now who would do a thing like that? [e digicons]:-"[/e] Of course I agree completely but besides that, you could use the built in points that arn't too useful to build a super race. What's wrong with that you ask? I mean thats the point of wanting to takle some point penalties. Well, buil

Keep an eye on which AI's have the cure and when they will get it. If its going to be a long time you have time to build up, otherwise you may want to pick at least one race to expand onto, (the Drath since they caused your problems). lol Until they have a cure their abilities will be at zero, that means zero soldiering-zero morale etc. You can invade any planet using informations warefare and lose virtuallty no soldiers or more likely end with more than you started with.
I can't tell you how many times I've been hit by a random event that pissed me off to no end. Pirates are one of the worst. Influence increase can suck. And of course there's the good old "The war has expanded."
Thiks one isn't a mega event. It can still happen with mega's turned off. Its just a random event thats not all that random. I believe it get triggered when you attack too many minors. It happens againsy that AI sometimes too.
Waaaa [e digicons]:([/e] that these changes won't be on DA.[e digicons]8O[/e]
Another reason is that the AI won't switch the current Tech being researched like a human would. If the plague is the one wityh lost abilities, it could take the AI a long time to get it. I had thos event once and the AI eventually did go for it but it was listed as 52 weeks to research. The ships arn't supposed to disappear from what I remember. MAybe on your nex turn when those ships need orders the game will center on them and you will know where they are, or they may come back.</p
COOL ! I have a way to go before I finish my game. I'm good for about a game a month too.
I don't think so. I think the bonus tiles are built into the map when it is created. The only luck is outside of the game, meaning if you are lucky enough to find them.
The reason those races are being paid to attack you is the Drath, its part of their superability. First off, as the Yor take advantage of their superability limiting emeny ships to 3 pc/turn. Build some military starbases and get the minus speed mudule on them. Your enemies will be limited to just 1 space per turn!!! I know, hard to get them built and keep then when you are already at war. At this point in your game I don't think having good relations is possible anymore, you
i thought they showed up in the ship list?
ummmm what ship list is that? Have i been missing something in DA all this time?
OK I know this is so late in the game BUT... would it be possible to have a list of your starbases similar to the planetary screen? Left column shows its name, then type, then just the number of available modules that are non attack / defence followed by the attack and defence for the base. I alwasy build a bunch of economy starbases but tend to lose track of them; both where they are and which are fully loaded. (The icon view will show a ship insead of the starbases if th
Will the ships be available npo matter what race you play or what ships style you pick when starting up a game?
FRom the colony screen you could not tell the game WHERE to build those structures.
BTW sorry if that 4.0 correction came out as rude.
I didn't think it was rude at all. So no problem. But now that you mention it.... [e digicons][/e]
The 4x was a requirement for the skull and crossbones to appear though, so it's not a rule of thumb...its a rule period.
Thank You for the correction Loup, guess i never realized that i had 4x whenever i saw the skull and creoss bones.
I really hate to ask this BUUUUT, what exactly is a swindle again? Is that when you keep adding AI planets to the trade screen and it actually turn green?
2)I'll echo others who've said that some way to make minor civs more than just targets would be nice. If they could become essentially affiliated to a civ, with reulting tech and economic bonuses, it would provide an alternative to just conquering them. Particularly given they are immune to influence, they end up rather left out in a peaceful game.

3)Minor races that become vassals or allies with limits on what they can or cannot do without your assistance.[/quot
It is by design that influences reset when a game is first loaded. I'm not sure if I understand why but I think it was to help the game load faster. The true influence will appear after you first tuen as you said. You didn't say if the problem was with one planet or all opposing planets. Here are some possible reasons you are not getting flips: - If you have the MCC (mind control center) built it will make flipping planets very difficult if not impossible. -It cou
Is the the epitomy of ironic?
If I payed more attention I could just clear it each turn. But I need to use it so seldomly that it gets ignored.

Its not about making it real, or about taking fun out of it, but about the strategy part of the game, where the pllayer has to consider things carefully. I got the idea when thinking about SSI's Allied General and how you would have to send your planes to a hex adjacent to opne of your airfields when fuel was running low or when they ran out of ammo, or they would crash. It prevented you from just leaving your planes in key locations the whole game.
Yes you can check spy status in the espionage window and that what i do when i see some spy activity in the GNN. However, this is becausei HAVE to do it this way or i loss the GNN screen before i was done with it. The difference is, as you noted, spies negated. That can be big because of trying to remember where you wanted that spy. Youi may have to click a few planets before you found the one that had the spy, or even if you know the planet name, you have to pan looking for it. Inthe GNN sce
I think you understood the OP better than I did Loup. In DA it DOES bring you right to that planet when you close the planet list screen. I was refering to the list that pops up between turns showing you what was built that turn. It lets you go to the planet to adjust the queue and ship build but you have no way of knowing where that particualr planet is. If you close the screen to see you can't get that screen back up and will have to rely on the little icons on the screen's right side.
I think a great addition to this game or a future GC3 game would be the notion that ships in space can't sit indefinitely. That is, over time they will need food, fuel etc., I'm not suggesting a new level of micromanagement with keeping track of food on a ship, but that eventually any ship will have to return to a friendly planet or star base. The basis for the return could be anything, I simply suggested food and fuel. The time a ship can go without going to a planet or star base perbably sh
I think I asked for that a long time ago. I'd like to see that too. Many times i just jot the planet name on a piece of paper to get back to after I'm done with the GNN screen. OR if we could get back to that screen after hitting done so that we could chech things out before deciding what to build next. I know we still have the notifications on the right, but if the haven't been cleared in some time... well you know what thats like trying to get to the latest. On a related note, could
