Thanks. I'm still playing 1.61 i think so the fiddling hasnt effected (affected?) me. I like to have enough plantets to work with but not so many that it takes forever to invade them all. I think i actuallly have been playing on common stars and planets with abundant habitable. Also i have been using tight clusters so that i could use starbases to boost production and have a bunch of planets in the radius. I think i'll try scattered next.

I have a question about how the unique race improvments will work: Are the difference between races just graphiocal in some instances, like with production structures. That is, will a drengin slave pit give the same production points as a basic factory (or wht ever it equivelent will be) or what ever kind of production building another race will use? Will the evil black market be the same as a good market place that just looks different?
Hopefully those won't take too long...I don't know how many more images a can leak before I get in trouble
Well theres only one way to find out,,, love the new improvement graphics btw. thanks for the leaks.

Ok this is probvably a question for people who have played a lot of games. I'm never really sure what to use as my settings for the number of suns and planets at the beginning of a game. So i'm asking about the differences in the combinations of what you set your galaxy to. Question: What is the difference in the number of planets between Abundant stars with only common planets AND common starts with abundant planets? I figure that the "colonizable" planets just makes more of the pla

I guess being hated is the downside. You cant simply get all the bonuses when you colonize a planet and then still have everyone like you. As it is, evil is overpowered compared to good and arguably neutral. I know we all have different play styles but to go eveil really is to go military conquest. Other than the MCC the evil structures and bonus weapons are all greaed toward going to war. Well, i guess the slave center could be used to build parade floats, err i mean constructors.
AFAIK it does. However you can freely (without "they don't trust us" penality) attack anyone who gave YOU his treaty.
so if i GET a treaty from, say, a minor race, i can attack it and not get the negative dipolmacy? Same with majors? I was holding off trying to get any treaties causei was planning to invade and didnt want to not be able to trade later. The penalty you get, does it hurt your relations with opther races or do you just not get very good tr

The only starbases i always build are economic ones. I try to have at least one fully upgraded one covering all of my planets. I do this for the bonus to production in all 3 areas. So careful placement that covers the most planets at once is important. Its great toi have like two 34% starbases covering your tech capital. If i manage to have trade route i will add the modules for that too. I have built military bases but find that its a lot of work and money to get one that will

Since too much influence gets your opponents upset, is the Reasturant of Eterity nor worth getting? AND Does anyone know for sure? That is, the - militaristic tag, is that the AI IS milatatiostic and I'm not, that the AI thinks that I'm too militaristic OR that the AI doesn't think I'm militaristic enough for them to like me? And do higher difficulty levles mean the AI is more aggressive?

35 Replies 16,366 Views

Well, this sounds great assuming the AI surrenders to YOU. How will it be when the AI surrenders to another AI? And it would be too destabilizing as FireBender said. Imaging plaing with 9 opponets and eventually having like all the bouses of six or eight of them. Even after 3 i would think that you'd be virtually unbeatable. Even more so then you usually are with all the additional captial buildings. I do think thet the tresury should not disappear altogether.

Ok so can someone tell me where to draw the line beteween being "militaristic" and having a small military? I mean eithway it'll cause someone or everyone to not like you. Does the difficulty level of the game make the AI more aggressive? One other question; does the negetive impact from attacking someone you have a treaty with include minor races?

35 Replies 16,366 Views

Well i guess you can say its ALL a bunch of if-then staements in a way, but with each "then" comes another long list of "if's". And its not always the same, sometimes the AI will ask for peace and sometimes they will stick around yuntil they are dead and other times they'll surrender. SO theres more to it then just figuring out how the AI will respond to every "if". The variables are too many to ever do that. NBow do humans respond to if-then statement too. In a way we do. If i d
Race: The average race used for submissions. Only appears if you have submitted a DL game, also only DL races are used for averaging.
Is this true? Do you need to play DL to get a favorite race emblem? Does the difficulty meter discriminate between DL and DA or does it weigh them equally? Going back to Skippio's post. I think it would be too tediuous to get a victory of each type for each race. I guess it woiuld be ok, but those medals wpould be rare.<br

I think the reason thgat custom races dont get the same number of points to use is that the built-in races have some abilities that make then unique but dont really help them too much. At least a human player making a custom race would never waste points on them. Like the Yor with their 100% loyaly. If a human ahd the full number of point to use, the custom races would be quite powerful.

Can someone tell me if this is truely the case, tha t a counter espionage center with its 40% morale boost will utilize a moral bonus tile if thats where its placed? And if so, will a stock exchange use an influence bonus tile if its build on one?

I too see AI transports escorted, not too well but at least they try. My games dont seem to last long enough for the AI 's to get better ships for escort duty or have enough ships to spare for it. One day i'll move beyond large galaxies and then maybe i'll see it. In fact im usually very bad at escorting them. But i dont really build/launch until the area is secure and i havea few ships in the area. Especially to take out the ship the AI builds just as mmy transport gets there. One reas
Its a great thing to put on a mystic spring.
See, i didn't realize that the bonus would apply to ANY structure with a morale boost. Are you sure of this? Does this mean also, that a stock exchange will get the bonus from a 100% influense bonus tile? I usually ignore those. I use spies early, at a low level you can see the destination of AI ships. I like to place them on AI captials that i find, enemy or not. The best use of spies i think is placeing them on far

Yea i've heard about that one. I guess on a very big map you'd almost have to reload from your last save or take months to play out the game. I don't seem to really get any of the Mega Mega events, just little ones like a temporary bump in everyone's economy and the new asteroid field, and stuff like that.

3 Replies 2,799 Views

I know some people like to post to complian about the harshness of some megaevents. I'm writting just to share one that i havent seen before. I wonder if anyone else has gotten this one. Its a disease, BUT it doesnt kill your population like the usual event does, this one leaves your population useless, it takes away all of your racial abilities and i believe all those from starbase mines. It was pretty cool, my income was like -3000, my moral was 1% (not a typo) on almost all of my pla

Does the Jagged Edge count as a major race when determining if you win a military victory? Anyway, to answer some questions about "reality", I guess they take over the planets from the ground but not in a military fassion , hence the large population (probably the same as before they defected). So they spead decent or maybe they are a religious cult and on the appointed day they announce that the planets they were successful on are defecting to join them.

Quick question: Do Dread Lord games count in the metaverse the same way that Dark Avatar ones do? Do they count towards mecal the same way? Thanks.
