The tech tree screen tells you what additional techs yopu need to get a ship, even one you created in a previous game. I THINK, if you click on an engine tech or a weapon tech it'll say the name of a ship and what other techs are needed and how many.

alas, i just can't stop adding to this thread: a button on the ship building screen to allow me to make my ship symetrical after only adding parts to one side. being able to actually see an AI's tech tree. being able to review the tech tree during trade negotiations for those of us who can't remeber off hand which techs come after another. or maybe just have a number next to the tech telling what order it come in on that branch. military ship having a radius w
the previous answers were correct but i'd like to maybe add a little: 1- Getting an alliance requires "close" realations. Gifts might get you to "friendly" but thats it. The best way was mentioned as having a great military, but you also should have trade routes with the potenetial ally, no past agressions, treaties too. On the Relations screen you will see +'s and -'s that tell you how your realationship is being figured. Of course you have to make sure the AI has the "alliance" tech
I used to use a code to remeber what the ship had, similar to many other peopel. But I've found that i generally only have like one or two medium sized hull ships in a game and like one large hull desigh. So i just give them regular names like Striker, Bane or Invader. If i upgrade the design i just add a 2 at the end.
As long as the event really doesnt turn sandbox mode into a campain game, where we'd have to resaerch this, and then go here and then build something else etc. Lets not make it too compliacted either.
I do have to disagree that combat is simply a matter of economics. You can have a great economy, but without the technology your ships will be outgunned, without factories you can't produce ships. I can agruee that combat is simply a matter of who has the best technology. The next guy might say its all about military production, who can build the fastest. Its ALL these things, your empire must be balanced somewhat. As far as tactical combat, as mswaim stated, this topic is old and well
A wedding between a Drengin Price and a Torian Princess. Forms an everlasting alliance. can you imagine what the kids would look like? smell like?
some really good and needed fixes / tweeks. can't wait to download. >>>NEW: More differentiation between alien races on what technologies they research. does this mean that the Ai's "personality" will be a factor intheir researching? + FIX: Made Build Menu update after a project is decomissioned. 1 per planet improvements like Orbital Terraformers will now show up in the build list again if you remove them from the queue or destroy an
wow thats cool. thanks. and i never tried to build over one, i just assumed you could demolish it like any other improvement. you can't?
In my current game I just conquored a planet that has that minimization achievement building, the kind that each civ can have only one of. The thing is i already had one. My question is, for those types of buildings, is having 2 helping me at all or should i just build over one? Of course i realize that the technology, manufactiuring and economic capitals DO help sinbce they effect just the planet they're on. But say i wind up with 2 slave centers... will i get even more military produ
This is a turned based game as opposed to a real time strategy game. It is the kind of game that will be saved and continued. Of course the way it is for most of us, we'd prefer to sit and play for as long as it takes but we have jobs to go to eventually. On small maps i guess you could play in a single sitting but I know where your question is comming from. So I'd say its a game that takes multiple sittings to finish when played at typical settings.
more of a minor event, but say one of your ship captains goes rogue and you have to detroy him before he gets you into a war. could also happen to an AI, where you have a ship(s) coming after you but no one to really strike back at besides that ship.
i think the proper term is: un-de-non-fleet them. if you have nothing constructive to say, add nonsence.
So its like building another farm?
Thnks, but i still don't see what building one does for me. What does having more food DO? Faster population increase? So how would that differ from the fertility clinic? And why would the Yor, robots, have a fertility clinic?
I just don't think mega events should affect only one or two civs. Like weakest become strongest and vice versa, either militarily, socially or intellectually. As far as the idea for rebel planets being easy to take back; perhaps the event causes all shipd originally built on that world to join them and if each civ lost more than just one or two, attacking to get the planet back might get you into a war you don't want. The new civ would have all the techs already researched by all the
Can someone tell me what these food distribution centers are good for. I havent built one yet. Does it just increase the pop cap again? I already don't research the last farm tech to keep planets from over populating.
I tried to read these all but i only get an hour for lunch. Some that i've seen that i like: 1) the one where the whole galaxy gets mixed up (i do have to say that I mentuioned this on the thread for what we'd like to see in a futrure expansion.. ok i'm done patting myslf on the back) 2) Where planets rebel and form a new civ. But it should affect all civs, so Each civ loses say one or two planets and all those form a single new civ. 3) I think this one is b
I like Galactic Geezers. Because it borrows from the name of the game and thepost that start it all was for baing geezers. And well, because i mentioned it there too. could we have a poll to skip the naming poll???
I'm looking forward to going to my kids' houses, eating their snacks, and soiling their furniture! I have such big plans for them... Hey OZ, don't forget waking them up at 4 Am for a drink of water. Or screaming for help, making Them dash to your aid because a fuzz looked like a bug. BTW i would definitely join a Galactic Geezer empire.
Well I got my first game posted. woo hoo.
Yea bugs, This is the worst first-person shooter I've ever played.
i liked BOTH jokes. French bread surrendeding.. lol ok here's one i have laying araound: Story with a Moral Once upon a time, and far far away lived a beautiful Queen with voluptuous breasts. Nick the Dragon slayer knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them. One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, who was the King's chief doctor. Horatio the Physician exclaimed that he cou

I thiunk its too earluy to say that its going to be boring though, besides i got a precurser library and im keeping this game!!! i didnt realize the drath were good, they were a little nasty the first time we talked. said something about staying out of trheir way.
I'm 37, and of all the many hours i spent in an arcade i have to say i stunk at asteroids, defender AND double dragon. My #1 games were Star Wars and Spy Hunter (once went 2 hours sraight on a quarter, got me where i am today, haha). I remeber when i first saw breakout in a store and thought it was the greatest thing. i lso remeber the first time i saw pac-man, i was amazed. My wife things games are completely for kids, doesnt understand them at all. I tell her reality TV is as much a w
