I've never had to deal with the Korath before. Are they the only ones who get spore ships? I thought they were until i noticed that there is a template for a terran spore ship. I guess you can trade the tech from them? So if you are the Korath and you use a spore ship, do you then need to send a colony ship to the planet? Can someone else claim it before you do? If it becomes a Korath-only planet, is that for the entire remainder of the game? BTW,,, love the idea of chasers.

I know it doesnt make sence to have no damage from a failed invasion but I still think it should be left alone. Not only are there better things for the devs to fix / add to the game, but I think of it from my point of view. So far everone has discussed this from the point of view of the human attacking an AI. But, but if I get invaded and I've taken the time to have a huge soldering adavantage, I'd hate to still lose my improvements or worse, PQ of the planet. Imagine getting attacked and winni
I had a Lord of the Rings game for my C64. It had a map of middle earth and shield that represented armies and some main characters. Yoiu had to get the ring to mount doom avoiding all the black shields and fighting when you couldnt. It too FOREVER to do. That was years and years before the movies, wish i had finished it now.
Yea because the mudule will reduce speed of -1 and then -2 so that means an enemy ship wont move at all. I gotta pay attention next time. its just SO RARE to have an enemy in my teritory... just kidding.
Can anyone use a spore ship? I tought only the Korath had the ability. Unless they give you the tech that is. Where is the tech for getting a spore ship anyway?
I don't think someone not doing the modding is necessarily lazy. I, for one wouldnt know the first thing about it but i do have some ideas that could improve the game. The Devs may be busy but they do ask for our ideas. And if you're a metaverse player you would want the changes to be a permanent part of the game. BA had his detailed and theres nothing wrong with that. I like some of the ideas. If i may just add something about the alignments. I too think they need to be changed. Like
Its the same one that gives you the galagtic guide book Nad thanks for the answers.
Heres a quick question: The 10% research bonus yu get for the nano recorders; is that for the planets its built on or for your entire civilization? heres another, has anyone ever confirmed that using the Yor (max enemy speed = 3)and putting both of the -1 speed reduction modules on you military star bases actually makes all other races speed 1pc/week while in the influence of both the Yor's race and the military star base? Do those modules refer to "enemies" only or to all oth
Ok my turn now. Hope all this isnt too much all at once. I guess you can see that everyone has a slightly different way of playing. I buy my first factory and colony ship. my secong building is a market. third is either another factory another market or a lab. I never go for any tech thats going to take more than 5 weeks or so. At leastat the beginning when you pretrty much want all of them. You may get impulse drive and see the next speed tech will take like 12 week
As a note, you don't have to fill the transport on the planet that builds it. Just with colony ships, you can choose the number of people that will board the ship. You can then go to another panet and fill the rest. I think you only actually NEED one person to get on to launch. What will happen is that your transport will land on your own planet and you'll have to relaunch, this time fill it to capacity since the inital number of people were temporarilly added to that planet's populatio
Also, you may want to spend a little time researching up the whole branch of the tree there. The techs arn't that expenseive, time wise and they will give you additional invasion tactics. But more importantly, you will get greater soldering points which you will need since you pretty much will be vastly outnumbered. The planets you invade will have like 4 billion people (usually, but may be as high as 12 on the campain) on them and your basic transport holds 1 billion (1000 is what the screen wi
Normally i wouldnt waste the points but I'm p[laying the campain and I'm starting the third mission where i have to place 4 agents on a planet. So since thats all i really have to do i thought that if the points got me agents faster it would end the mision faster. If it just means im allowed to spend more than the 25% it may not be worth it since ill be in the red for probably most of the mission. Anyone else know for sure?
Ok the subject pretty much says it all. I was wonderoing what the espionage bonus actually does. I'm talking about the bonuses the we can pick at the begining of a game or between the missions on the campain mode. Does it get you spies sooner or just get you to higher levels of infoprmation faster? Thanks
still no luck
I'm just trying to keep my carbon-monoxide production down to a minimum. LOL Back top the game if I may. I don't think we need to have global warming, its seems that should be kept to the Civilization series. But This idea did give me one for one of those pesky Megaevents. Not so much global warming but something that causes all farms to die. Populations would decrease etc.Maybe you'd need the alreday-in-the-game second barren world tech to be able to rebuild them. It could be
I didn't even know he was banned. I guess because i've been staying clear of the political / religious topics. I had had enough of them. ES had rubbed me the wrtong way just one or twice but never enough for me to dislike him. In fact, i just thought he didnt like me. But then later posts were helpful. I'm sorry he got banned but it seems the decision is final.
Didn't you see Total Recall?
Well in the mean time i figured now would be a good opportunity to try out the Campain game.
I just posted for the same problem. But sice it just happened recently i dont knoiw if i'd be able to get future games saved to the Metaverse.
Last night i finished a game of DA, it asked me if i wanted to save it to the metaverse and i said yes. But then it told me my serial number did not match that in the database or something. It asked me if i wanted to try again and i hit "yes" same result. There was a 12 in parenthesis at the begining of the message if that has any significance. Anyway about 2 weeks ago (after i started the game in question) i had to do some fixing on my computer to get rid of some viruses. Due to this i
That happened to me just once. I did what you did, saved and started the game up again. But then it was fine for me, never happened again. Sorry, I don't know why it happened. But I haven't lkaoded any patches so thats not the problem.
Your approach is fine. I play the same way. Social buliding and research. maybe a bascic ship in orbit. So i too get some civs declaring war on me, but as i usually have a greater economy and better planetary production, i can quickly get better ships against them and soon they're saying it was a mistake to attack me. And i get a bunch of new planets out of it. one of the things i do first when a war is declared is research right up the tech tree to get the maximum soldering. you can se
getting back to the game for a moment, i think the issue isnt being able to detect entry into your space or your area of influence, its being able to stop entry without blowing up the ships and going to war. It was suggested here and in some ideas on the "what you want next" thread that some method be developed to stop unwanted entry. This would apply to a human player entering AI space as well. There are other issues that would have to be ironed out, like what ablout freighters and oth
I notice a lot of ideas do deal with the addition to the tech tree. While the plague event was ok, i don't think this should be the result of other Megaevents. It really just becomes an exercise, for a turn or two you switch your research to this new tech, maybe even adjuat the sliders and you're done. i guess the problem i have with it is the inability of the AI to react as efficiently as a human player. So any event dealing with a must-have new tech will be a plus for a human. The one time i d
Must be a really nice tree. lol Can you imagine trying to constantly supply fuel for ships and food and the rest, each being two weeks away from the other (i'm not calculation how many such outposts would be needed). Besides, not knowing if there even are other beings in space, i doubt we'd start patroling for nothing.
