you can rush buy the first factory to get somethinmg going while you're at 50% production. You can also adjust the sliders until you see something other than "never". Its common to see the "never" when you only have the first colonization tech. If you cant get a good deal trading with the AI, try researching the diplomacy techs. and building the trade goods / buildings that help with trading.

This may sound odd, but you may need to actually cut and paste the number that SDC gives you. Even if its the exact same number.
Was it an intensional change in the latest update that we can now use trade goods to trade multiple times? It used to be that once you gave it to someone you couldnt do it with someone else.
I don't think hangers would really add anything to the game except more coolness. But It would be nice if you could fleet ships with a base so the bases weapons would be more meaningful early on. Terror Stars fall into the smae category as carriers... not something the devs wanted in the game.
And your suggestion for playing Battle of the gods works, making an editor even less useful.
I'm just confused on whats wrong with the ship build we have, what a separate one would have and why we would need it.
I would like to be able to see a planet's wereabaouts when i am either in the civilization manager screen (where all of your planets are listed) or when Im viewing a planet. just like a blip on the minimap. with 50 plantes or so i get lost on which ones are where, especially the ones that keep flipping. so when im trying to decide who dbuilds what, it would be nice to be able to see, on the same screen the general location of the planet. I mifght get a message that a planet just joined
BAHHHH your foiling my plans!!! ok i do see your point. i guess cause i usually have a small fleet at the bases (usually obsolete tinies or smalls) and i can see if there are ships present by the number of ships in the fleet still visible when the starbase is shown. I guess I just need to get used to this since its my first game with the updates.
Can't GC be played in a regular Windows screen so that you can see the bottom Windows bar? I play full screen but i thought you could play the other way too. That way you can see the clock already on your screen. Having the Devs do this seems like a waste to me.
I hate to complain (and this isnt really a complaint) at all about what is an improvemnet to the game, but (thers always a but), as much as i like the icon for stacked ships I just wish that it was set up that if the ships are at a star base then the starbase will be what is Always shown. I see a couple of ships and i keep losing where all my starbases are. I actually have 2 economy starbases next to eachother because i forgot the first one was there until i went to move the ships that were on t
Mars is a good money maker. A farm, happy building and six stock exchanges.
Each Constructor is more than just the module, but also the engine, and other parts. So creating a ship with - 1 engine, - 1 life support, and - 2 construction modules, would cost less than 2 ships with - 1 engine, - 1 life support, and - 1 construction module each. You don't pay for the engines on the basic constructor and you can feel free to leave off any life support. Basically it would cost less becaus
I think if it were just a mulitiplayer pack then they shouldn't add anuthing new. That would alienate those who couldn't or wouldn't play mulitplayer. Now they could make it for both but i never really saw enough interest in these forums to make them change their minds (if they EVER would on this topic). They had reasons for not wanting to do multiplayer and i agreed with them. For that kind of programing effort Id rather the game as a whole get deeper and more complex. anyway
What difficulty and research rate does it take to have a game take that long? OK i can see a 10 or even 15 year game with many plantes to invade on the larger sized maps.
I would love to have more diplomatic options. Alliances can be more than just a way to win the game or for help if you get attacked, or what happens most they get you into a war. Maybe in the trade screen you can have a list of future techs" where you agree to research something next and you ask the AI to do the same and when you both have researched your assigned tech you automatically trade with eachother. For instance i'll pick phasors II and then on the AI (who is my ally) side of t
So if you want to be able to build one constructor that will do the work of 5, it should take 5 times as liong to build and cost 5 times the money. So you're losing out on the effects of the starbase while you wait. Instead of having, say 14%production from an economy starbase you're gomnna have none while you wait long enough to get the full 34% (assuming you have the techs). it wouldnt make sence. What IS the adavantage to having constructors able to add multiple modules? As it stan
him, hisself and he.
They made it a PQ 4 planet that can become a PQ 10 with a lot of TLC... as opposed to a standard PQ 4 that eventually develops into a 13 or 16, or a PQ 3 that becomes a 15 or 18. (DA values.) Do low PQ planets ALWAYS wind up with the same ultimate PQ? or is this just throwing out numbers?
im gonna start using that as well. too bad i cant do it to the minors. I agree that its makes it easier but its not necessarily cheese, its a tactic. Maybe if the defender had the chance to nulify it would be better. so instead of placing a spy ion an economic capital it may be better to just kill a farm. may even register as a lower prority to the AI but still kill its economy.
Cool, what would the result be if you tried the same thing witrh a spy on a "fell good" building? will they revolt and drop the population?
Well if you want to nit-pick assuming the people you did business with are your own citizens i guess you'd have to pay them. Basically i just think that a true win would be if you have no debt. It would be too easy to start long lease deals knowing that you game will end sooner.
The addition of the leasing options is great. I just have one suggestion (this time). in order to achieve ANY victory ALL debts must be paid off. If you do not have enough in your treasury you must keep playing, possibly lowering (or maybe even highering) your score. I thought of this when i had to pay 2500 to be neutral (i took just ONE evil choice and they stick me with the bill...). anyway i didnt have the money and i was told id be paying 10 bc per week for 250 weeks. it occured to
Ok i must say that i enjoyed the little pun in the thread subject. Just wanted you to know your hard work did not go unnoticed.
that would be something different. it just means that if your socail is like 20 and your military is like 20 you dont get an extra 40 towrads research if you are not builing anything. in that case you will just not be spending that money at all on those 2 things.
Theres no question about the value of the mining starbases. The all help tremendously. As far as the other kinds, I'll use military and influense on occaion, a lot less than i used to. I might use a military starbase if i border the Drengin or something and i can get its circle into their territory pretty easily. Also, dont forget about the spped modules plus for you and negative for them. having you ships cut through and get an extra parce on their way to the front is good. I'll use an influens
