I usually queue up only a copuple of building for each planet. Maybe alternate between factories and markets at first with a lab thrown in. Queueing up only like 4 or 5 of the 10 (for example) usable tiles somewhat forces me to reveiew what im doing on that planet later., when i see the "nothing" in the queue on the GNN screen. Picking all the improvements for all of your tiles won't have a bad effect on your economy as long as you have things build in the right order, ie, som

cool graphics though. can i borrow those for my kids' science projects? The question here is about "fair use," a copyright principle that's under steady attack by those pernicious enemies of progress, the MPAA, RIAA, and SPA. For a moderately brief discussion of how messy this question is these days, see this page at EFF. never mind thats ok, i'll stick with a volcano. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=
Even without the morale racial bonuses, you can get a higher morale by building the entertainment type buildings.. You will get a morale boost too, when you just research the right yellow techs. And of course if yuou can find a nice morale resource to mine you'll be ok.
About your idea, I had a post somewhere about additional ship componets / modules. I think it was in one of these "what do you want?" threads. Anyway i wont repeat it all here but i was thinking specifically of things like: A)maneuvering thrusters = evade shots B)targeting computer = can take out a critical enemy component (so their defence or weapons are lessened for the remainder of the battle) C)astromentic droids = repair individulal ships after a battle. D)Command B
And why cant i see each of my colonists to scale. whats wrong with this?!?!? cool graphics though. can i borrow those for my kids' science projects?
First, welcome to GalCiv2 and your post wasnt all that long, so go for it if you have something to say. To answer you question, i don't think there is a spell check. but you can edit your post as long as it hasnt been viewed yet.
I had to pull my Enigma device oiut to read that one.
I was wondrering what political parties people use. Mostly i was curious to see if everyone basically used the same ones and if there were some that never get used. I basically used Industrialist all the time. But in my curreny game i decided to give the War party a chance. Havent had the chance to see it in action yet. I figure most people will use industrialists, technologists and the one that gives an economic boost. But what about the others. Who uses them? And do you
Too funny. good point(s). Don't ya just love all the posts with "i'm not a developer BUT..."? And, yes i probably have at least one of those in the "what do yuou want" thread. with thats all said can we NOW talk about tactical combat for space carries and their planet-destroying rays? Just Kidding... out the daggers away please. Btw that car you descibed sounds like a Hyundai falling off a cliff.
Wow, thanks for that info. Also, planets with PQ less than a base of PQ6 don't seem to ever benefit from the +PQ racial ability, i.e. when they grow to a larger PQ where a 10% benefit might mean a tile increase, they do not get an extra tile. I guess thats due to rounding of the PQ bonus at the time you colonize it. It would be good if the formula would include something that gave yopu a minimum of +1 tile regardless of the rounding. I mean tha
Ok this may be a bit far out but its an original idea, (i think). what about a new twist on trading, AUCTIONS. Say i want a little cash, or techs or whatever. i put up one of my ships, planets , starbases, other techs for auction and it goes to the highest bidder. The bids can be ANYTHING you normally see on the trade screen, including declarations of war i guess. I'm thinking it would work more with unique items, like ships and starbases and planets. Doing it with techs ould just be l
In other words, you can't do what you want. The alternative ifs what MittiKahn said, when a ship is completed, you launch it away from the enemy and have it run away. After you have a few run to the same place you create a fleet that can hopefully beat back the invasion. With this tactic you have to hope that your ships are fast enough to get away and that the enemy doent have so many ships that there is no safe place. One more thing that might work, if you have good diplomacy and a l
Why not just make it real simple. You attack a star base as before, but instead of it being destroyed it "surrenders" at 1 hitpoint. The attacker can the opt to finish the destruction or take control. (The player may not want to have to own the starbase if its say, an influense base). This may be where those new repair modules will come in handy. If the satrbase is damaged in any way i guess would be up to the devs. It would have to be well thought out and i havent done that.
I've heard this many time before but I have not experienced the AI trading techs too much. I find that when i go to trade they all pretty much have some the same and some different. I never turn it off. Here are some basic tips: If you're having trouble getting a decent deal, first remember that some techs are highly valued, like weapons and mining. The AI will tell you something like "we worked hard to get that...". Getting those yellow diplomacy techs helps a lot too
How so? Beacuse of the cost of constuctors?
The only type of game that should be strictly solo play are as follows: Solitaire Those mystery puzzle games like Myst THATS IT? thats funny. I would never really play a multiplayer game. Mostly because my time to play is limited and my oponent would probably get a message every day that its not his/her turn yet. lol. But even with peopel who would play more often I think it would just take long and be frustrating, especially if o
I only play to the end too because of metaverse posting. I dont really go for higher scores but i do like having the record of my wins (and someday losses). But I havent gone for the military victory yet. My current game i plan to, just so i can eventually have one of each type of victory. I usually let it end with a political victory. One of the things I liked about this game was that you wren't forced to turn on your allies to get a victory. My last game i did "force" an influency vi
I got this one a while ago. It is just because of the influence base and not the ships. I guess its better than having him say "move it or we'll move it for you". i wonder if his daughter is cute.
thats good to know. now i just will have to remember which planet had the bonus.
OHHHhhhhh i get it. Thats pretty cool. good way to get people to try everyone once. Theyt should add a medal for winning each of the 4 different victories.
Can someone tell me how the Racial Victory medal is earned. I though it was winning with the maximum number of major races in the game but i did win with 9 AI players and got nothing.
The "time to upgrade" is the number of weeks the miner will have to stay on the asteroid before you get the effects from the mine (5 weeks is the first one). Its not like a star base that you'll see it done on that move. After you have mined you'll need the other techs that Alexander mentioned. If you don't have the additional mining techs, your miner will be dormant unless you move it to another asteroid. They move very slowly, so as Iztok said, its best to have one per cluster. Later it will t
Yea I've thought that replacing a building with an upgrade of similar type should take less time. Building an Industrial sector on a blank tile takes the same amount of time as upgrading, say, a manufacturing center. So when you research the new technology its better to go to each planet and have it build any new ones you want first, it'll take less time to get them all upgraded in the long run.
Can someone tell me why i would build a Galactic Resort. For a wonder it doesnt seem to have the greatest effect. I just build a regular happy-place building on my planets. the description says its just for that planet but maybe thats wrong, does it effect your whole civilization? Also, i asked this in anbother thread buut i cant find it now. (stop laughing at me, lol) Was it an intensional change that we can now trade trade-goods with multiple AI's? Until i updated for my current gam
- Influence starbases are mainly there to built it near other planets so that you can convert their government into yours. Can't your spies do this?? For example, after reaching advanced level of espionage, you can place your agents on approval and inflence buildings. Depending on how many agents you place, it would require less time for revolt and conversion. You are actually converting the people of the planet, showing them how good your people got it.
