I asked the same thing once about the galactic resort, i though i had missed something. I could see if it had a lower moral rate if it also had like an influense factor. Kinda like the political capital. I wonder if the big changes coming in TA will have some bulilds taken out of the game. I know it was said that a lot of buildings will have dual purposes. thats cool. Another place where buildings arent used a lot by human player i think is the planet defence buildings. There

Sorry but I think it takes long enough to get your economy going. I imagine that playing at higher difficulty levels where the AI gets economic bonuses is where to go if you thinks its too easy now. I would have been doomed in siome games if not for some cash filled anomolies.
The same question holds for stealsing tech when invading. I guess maybe in that case you can just be granted an evquilelent amout of RP to use towards your own tech tree. So instaed of stealing a tech for a slave pit you may get all or a portion of a production tech on your own tech tree.
Its not only beneficial to choose the evil path when the choices pop up, but the buildings you get as evil almost make you invincible, at least at the middle difficulties. I mean who needs free upgrades to starbases when you can double your income. The NLC is nice too but with the better weapons and slave center giving you ships faster you will be able to just steal techs as you conquor faster, and free, with the no cost invasion center (or whatever its called). i think the good-neutra
I just had a recent thread that asked about the AI creating its own custom opponets, so even their superability would be a mystery to the player. It seemed to well liked. But now i was wondering if something like that were done, could the AI also be able to choose the tech tree it wants to have?
If you look at each of your planets you see on top shields, beekers and hammers. the number of beekers is your RP for that planet, if you add up all of your planets you get your total RP and your capacity to get those techs. Now when you actually play its not necessary to know what your total RP is, I just look on the tech tree screen and see how long each tech will take and choose what i want next based on time and how valuable a tech is to get earlier. BTW the same holds true
Instead of autosurvey remaining on, or in addition to that, could the game have that news report robot tell you that theres a rumor on the trade routes that an anomoy has been sighted, or that the sensors on one of your outposts has found a new anomoly. Since its random, won't it be fun to go rushing to an anomoly to get one of those 1 bc "lucky day" or what a waste og time" ones. Maybe the AI will actually race to build the galactic guide book, then they won't have to worrry a
Its that building that makes each new colony cost you money when you first colonize. It causes you to have to plan your economy against this cost when you have no income. Don't appologize for any question. No one here ever judges. The are all very helpful. I play i win and i still have questions. If you have a specific problem you should post it and maybe you can get the ball rolling on your games so you can do better.
You don't NEED to build them all over, but the more you have the better it is, especially if you max out your trade routes. It also depends on how likely it is that you'll go to war. The AI loves to target starbases of all kinds. But you may find that one your planets start getting industrial sectors, they will be able to get a constructor ourt every 3 or 4 turns. I do like to have all of my planets covered by at least one fully upgraded (with production modules) starbase. It h
So what? like a BIG fire extinguisher module? Anyway about the questions of the TS ability to move and defend, I think the main use of this weapon will be near the end of a game / war where you normally have to send transport after transport to finish off an alredady dead enemy. This way you can just take out a system and be done. Make shure you sent the game for tight clusters.
I read where another player first invaded the planet, built on it and them gifted it back. Maybe you can try that.
Maybe, also a race that mirrors yours, whatever bonuses you take, it takes. So the better you make yours, the better you opponent will be. Like aphantom race or something. ok maybe now im pushing it.
manuevering thrusters component that make enemy shots "miss".
In the thread for the realease of TA, someone had seemed disapponted that a new race wasnt on the table and a response to it suggestet there there were already enough. Anyway, instead of a whole new race, could the game be set up for a new AI generated custom race? That is a race where you dont know a thing aboput them that is created completely by the AI, including its superability. Which may even be used by another race in the same game. If you set your opponents to random you may or
I just dont see why separate colors can't be found. How about pink? Or like a forest green? If there were only 2 grays it would still be better. What about the idea above of having them be a neutral color until you meet the race?
I would get the planetary invasion techs too. I usually set my slider to like 80% for research and i getthe whole tree in like 3 turns. Like the previous post said, you want to be able to protect yourself. Btw you can ferry people with colony ships too. You dont HAVE to have transporsts doing it. Chances are you already have a variety of sizes and speed for your colony ships.
If you lose your home planet, another planet will become your capital. It never happened to me so i don't know how the planet is chosen. I also don't know if your civilization takes some sort of moral hit, etc. get the higher PQ's first. its ok if an AI grabs Mars or the other lower planets near you. As long as there arent very many of them the will usually eventually flip to you. Or will provided an easy target in the future. The order doesnt matter. The comouter does calculat
Thanks guys
Can some of these be changed permanently by the next update, ie. 1.7? I think a lot of people have trouble distinguishing the "gray" civs. It takes a little effort to know if you have the Krynn, Korx or Iconian civs around. Also, and this just occured to me, can the game be changed so that we can see out opponents, (blind exploration OFF) BUT still not know who they are until we meet? Like we will see shaded blotches for each AI and when we meet them their blotch turns their color.
Ok this question is about the growth of population on planets based on the planet's moral. I know that at 100% the growth doubles. But at other rates, what is the growth? I guess i was wondering if there were and specific thresholds where your growth rate changes. Should i care if my moral is 60% or 70%? Does it matter as long as im above 50% and less than 100%? Thanks.
Its a holiday in the USA where, ironically, no one works.
I don't think you can place a spy on the colony building, just like you can't place on the starprts. I have placed spies on an AI held Returant of Eternity and saw no change in the influence line on the minimap, evan after a turn. I also doidn't see a change in the IP number associtaed with the AI's planets, so i don't think it did anything. I think a test of the universal translator will be easy. Try a trade and see what money the AI will give. Then try the same with a pry on
If it wren't for the humor what would be the purpose of even reading the descriptions? I haven't read most of them but eventually i will take the time to. I'm usually too anxious to continue playing. I love the one when Lord Verda is telling you abvout the party his daughter was at and sarcastically mentions that its yours. "cheese eating surrender monkeys" havent seen that in the game but it was first coined by grounds keeper willy on the simpsons i believe. Its a great line.<
Its gambling in a way, but you can chage the numbers to be more in your favor by chooseing the appropriate invasion tactic, (when you invade that is). Also, by researching up the entire invasion tactic tree, and of course getting the Ur-quan training building.
And for your informwation, all starbases add to your range, not just the influence ones.
