Well with all the ideas that have been put forth, I'd hate to have to wait 3 more years for an updated game. I too, like the sound of the UP idea, i once suggested that civs be able to see the subject before the vote comes out and they can use the trade screen to try to get allys (only allys) to vote their way. And an elected president choses which subject gets voted on. But, To answer your question I thimk the continues release of expansions is ok. I like to tyhink the svaings are pass

I imagined it to be two pages. One, a list with a wonder / trade good listed and the planet and owner next to it. Then a separte list for each civ on the foreign relations screens, maybe a new tab. and a list with one colum showing one-of-a-kind improvments and the planet itrs on next to that. And a simlar one on our own colony list.

I would like and be most happy for a future update / expansion of this game to have a way of finding stuff. ok let me be a bit more specific, i would like to be able to do a search or even pull up a screen under foreign relations somewhere so that i can locate all one-of-a-kind structures. That is all wonders, a table that tells me what planets they are on. And all the various types of capitals for each civ. This information is not classified, but double clicking each planet looking for

is friendly before or after warm?... giving stuff can get you upto the last realationship before CLOSE, but it will not get you close. Close is what you need to form an alliance. There are a few old posts on this, but vasically, you need to have a strong military. thats top. besides that having trade routes and treaties helps, mostly you should check under foreign relations. Under the picture of the AI player there is a list with + and -. these will tell you whats causing your current relatio

Going back a few posts.... watch the time it takes to research certain techs. theres no rush to get the yellow tiles for a while and those techs take a while. Look for ones that help with your economy and production. If you dont have a survey ship it MAY be because you're playing the campain. I never play it so i dont know what it has. Butm, in the new game (sandbox) mode you should have a miner, colony ship and a flagship=(surveyor) no matter who you start as.

Thats odd, I dont think i've even had the AI players form an alliance. to cause strife, i guess you'll have to get a civ thats not in the alliance to declare war.

In all, i think the system is balanced. Missles are better but take longer to research. And i dont know what the money cost comparison is, I'll check it out next time i play, but im guessing that its also balanced. True, its not perfect but its ok by me. I do usually like missles because i think you can get to an attack of 2 first. But in games whre its all over by year 5, the faster you can get stronger/smaller weapons online the better. Of course this is on medium difficulty which is

Yea,,, I HATE when that happens. Carriers would probably only be useful if someday the devs added stuff like, crew fatigue and moral for ships in space. Where they would need to be docked to keep their full battle strength or have to return to a friendly planet / starbase for a turn every so often. With the new modules, especially the speed one, it seems that the effect will be the same as having carriers, even if they dont look like carriers.

And why do you have the super weapon at a certain point in the particular branch of the tech tree? I suppose it's nice to have a primary target at a later point in the tech tree you can strive to reach, but if it's too strong then it becomes a bit pointless to research past that step in the tree. At least there should be 2-3 such points along the entire branch. This sounds even much worse than the plasma cannons in MOO2... if you almost never use the other weapons in t

It's garbage start positions like this that SCREAMS the need for a SID MEYERS Civ Conquests style map editor that lets YOU dictate starting positions. i disagree, its the random / unknown nature of the galaxy thats one of the best features of the game. not knowing what lies beyond makes the beginning of the game so addicting. Not to say that a map editor is wrong by any means, but if this player wanted a random map, as I would, the editor wouldnt have helpe

BTW, besides all that, NEVER get this game from EBAY, or any other used-game place. well unless the seller has said that the game was never registered and you believe him. You won't be able to update the game from anywhere if the serial number is alreay taken by the previous owner.

First, are there suppose to be screen shots of TA somewhere? I didn' t see any but the prteview screen says "screenshots". thers only the box shown there. Are there going to be any changes to Diplomacy / race relations? i didnt see it listed but i wasnt sure iuf that meant there definietly wasnt going to be any. Just wondering since i posted a bunch of ideas way back for new ways to wroks relations with opponents.

Actually the spy on a farm only needs to be there for a single turn. You will see the planet's population drop down immediately. You can plant the spy the turn before your transport gets there. Not only does this drop the AI's income but it makes it easier to take in an invasion, just think about a maximum of 6000 enemy tropps (except on capital planets). Your spys only get nullified if the AI alreday has one waiting. As much as it costs you to get more spys it costs the AI the same. S

I guess a change would be nice. But i generally just hoit "skip" anyway. I'm not that into the suspence to wait it out. And i think even with new animations, peopel will start to do the same after the first few invasions. Its like when you start sweeping away all those Drengin fleets that are all identical, after you watch it unfold once or twice it becomes the same battle over and over.

Well guys, with the addition of those ship modules we've heard about, we pretty much DO have carries, at least in principle. I mean you have a ship with a component, that when its in a fleet, all other ships in the fleet will have more speed, and other for fire power. I think its use is obvious. You have a cargo hull with these componets and you fleet it with a ton of fighters. Or one capital ship with fighters. so they can move at the same speed or close to it, which was the primamy

I don't ususally have anything going on in the backgraound. I get too busy with the game to pay attention. On the other hand if I try to snaek in a few turns while the kids are still up, i'll get a bunch of "Daaaaaaad"'s every few seconds.

CaptainYar.....I have one thing to say to this. Nice subtlety if you are referring to The Guide, and if not then it was funny nonetheless! Kudos to you! Thank You GalenEvil. Yes it was definitely a reference to The Hitchickers Guide to the Galaxy. Haven't read it in over 15 years but that part always stuck with me. Thought the "end of the universe" was a dead give away. Good catch btw. Ok so buck Rodgers won't be here yet then, gotta wait

i cant see a Stargate costing less than 1 trillion dollars per gate. you need two of these to work so each pair would cost 2 trillion dollars and then you don't get to use them for 50,000 years. Ok well you see theres your problem. You dont pay for the stargates until they're functional. SO you deposit like 1 BC in your account now. and in 50,000 years when the gates are up and running you're sure to have enough in your account to pay for it AND ma
