It was definitely caused by the 1/2 production. I just thought of something else that will be a benifit to the tactic of having enemy ships at speed 1. CORRECT ME PLEASE IF I'M WRONG. each attack by a ship / fleet on a planet takes one move. right? No matter how big the enemy fleet or what its normal speed is, with a reduced speed of 1 it can only attack a planet once per turn. So, if you don't have an orbital fleet manager and have 2 ships in orbit, the AI will have to ta

I'm playing DA 1.5 as the Yor, so that means i have that +100 loyalty bonus. For most of the game its been great because i can colonize a planet anywhere and not really worry too much about the planet flipping away. Now heres something I don't get, I have colonized 3 PQ1 worlds and each of them is giving me messages that the people are looking to an AI who seem better. (or whatever the message says) I get the skull and crossbones but the planets approval is like 90-100%. One of these wo

Let's see. Eight years under Clinton brought sustained prosperity and budget surpluses year after year, and there were no international incidents to speak of. The rest of the world thought favourably of the US for the most part and the American administration had no problems getting along with other foreign agencies. Yes, that all indicates something going wrong to me all right. Is that first part sarcasm? seriously is it? No international incidents?

When playing DL i was goinf neutral. i liked the extra trade routes and the instant usable tiles was awesome. Didn't even have to research the techs. Half price on quick built ships was good too. Im playing DA for the first time now, as the Yor so i decided to keep them as intended and went evil. I got the first bonus weapon and it made my medimum hulled ship a true fighting maching. i only pout on one since it cost 150bc but with it i put a bunch of smaller ones so i have 12 beam attac

it is not a lie or liberal bias, it is the truth (of course I admit that it may be an exaggerated version of the truth) calling the media biased isnt the same as saying they.re lying. Just that they skew the facts, yea they are facts, but they present them in a way as to further their own opionion. Lets look at this: in general, the war in Afganistan is not as unpopular as in iraq. in the news they will mention the number of dead enemies in afganistan

Do I believe that our country 'allowed' Pearl Harbor to happen? Hell yes. Couldnt we have accomplished this without losing most of our Paciffic Battleships? why were they left in port? And dont tell me thats why out carriers were out on maneuvers. Beacuse, at that time, before the war, The abattle ship was still seen as the main offensive weapon. It was only after the war was underway and we started island hoping that the carrier was view differently.

The only thing that has to do with our elections in 2008 is the timetable that the democrats want. All troops out near septemeber of 2008. Just close enough for them to say how they brougt our troops home but not enough time to see the devestaion that will bring. Well, anything to win an election i guess. The devestaion they will blame on bush, and not their continued tactic of run when it doent look good. the same mess but on a larger scale that Somalia was in ever since Clinton had us run

StormBringer.... I just can not believe this about the World Trade Center. I don't think you're gullibkle I think you distrust and therefore fiond it easy to belive what you want when you read it. In the 80's there was asbestos, the 80's. the PA WAS paying to clean it up. How muh of that was still there in 2001? I worked in that building and i KNOW they were doing clean up. They were vacating a whole floor at a time. Or are you going to now say they cleaned it up so that when the knock

No i dont have the latest, i just have what came with the gold edition. But for now Im happy im getting 25%. But so are the AI players if they build one. I have one AI player that was building one on a PQ5 planets that had no factories. hmmmm.

Thanks guys, im sticking with neutral. 100% ecomomy isnt worth having to fight for each planet. Besides I have a PQ1 world thant is already slated to be a 10 and i only have the first terraforming tech. But at this rate my game will end before all the tiles are even useful. Its like having to build on each tile twice for the entire planet. So going neyurtarl will instantly transform the tiles once i get the tech. On the other hand ive seen something about an orbital terraforme

Sorry but i just can't go into all the conspiracy theories. Can i assume that you also belive that the US LET pearl harbor happen just so we could enter the war? I just can't get over the idea that we lost the worrl trade center on purpose. I'd laugh if it wasnt so off target. Of course the south would have had SOME industry, the point is that the war didnt happen just for the sake of northern bankers, as was said. It was about bringing the counrty back together, even if by force. the s

Without doing a big huge quote, I'll just say that i agree with you EvilStormbringer. Wars are not romatic. But i will add that some participants in some wars are nobel in their intentions. I don't believe its ALL about money and power. Sometimes when a friend is threatened you come to their aid. I won't say that wars are just, but entering one to fight an aggressor can be. World War 2 was strated over greed, Hitler's, the US going there was about stopping him, not about the US bankers gaining

Seriously, you're killing me. You believe more deeply than the neoconservatives who concocted this whole charade. At least they KNEW they were lying! Now don't be just blaming conservatives, wasn't it Mr. John Edwards himself who SPONSORED the bill to invade Iraq? Did he believe there were WMD's? If not, then he's even lower that I already think he is for going along with something just to look good. If so, how can you blame conservatives and how can yo

Ohhh i hadn't even though about the effects from asteroids. And thanks for the math, once i understand it, it'll help. So what you're saying is, with the inital colony (which they all have) and three factories (advanced, enhanced, +++) it IS better to get a fusion generatior and then of course upgrade with each new tech? And having mined asteroids just adds to the benefits of the fusion generator. Side question, more of an opinion, When mining a group of asteroids where you ha

So what war that happened 3 centuries ago was more just than ANY after that? So it's not ok for mulsims to persecute other people, but it is ok for "christians" to persecute people with a different sexual orientation? I'm sorry, couln't tell if this was directed to what I had said. if it was, i never said it was ok for anyone to condemn another, for sexual orientation or any reason. i DID say "who are they to judge", refering to any C

I don't really read the text with the new technologies, I'm usually to anxious to put it to use. I do like the humor in the dialogs, though. After the Drengin declared an unprovoked war and i beat them back, the dialog was more like "i think we made a mistake, can't you take a joke". i liked the groveling My current game the Kryyn (spell check) declared war on me by stated that it was "for the good of all that i be exterminated" or something like that. About the topic.

Ok i need advise on the difference between a Fussion Generator and The Advanced facory. Knowingthat they can both be updated later... I know someone here has done the calculation to find the break-even point for when to build one more factory type or one generator. I can see that with the generator, a 25% boost is great, but you need to have enough factories, you need that have 25% OF something. So when do you build one or the other? Do yopu do like one per planet? And how does

I have posted before in defence of the muslim faith! I even stated that the muslim faith will likely be the only force to stand against the antichrist - due to it's high degree of uncompramising and uncorruptable nature. Have you read the Book of Revelation? One example is the christian churches movement towards acceptance of homosexuality. If the christian church can accept that, then it is pretty much open

At least in Babylon5 Earth was smart enough to beg for mercy, (occasionally the AI will do this too). In my last game the Drengin declared war on me pretty early on, had just gotten medium hulls. But i had the tech to make a ship to counter their's. After a few tuns the dialog with them got pretty funny. "maybe we made a mistake in attacking you" and "can't you take a joke?" were two good ones.

Regarding the original thread, i wouldnt worry at all about an AI economy starbase near you, it doesnt hurt you. And if the UP vote for shared starbase benifits or even a tribute for starbases in someone else's territory as mentioned before, you might get something nive out of them. Now i agree about the influence and military starbases. but i really havent seen too many for myself.

Doesn't that work out in the long run? If you attack and capture the capital of the enemy civ, they surrender immediately to someone. You can get alot of worlds real quick if you just take out the civ's capital, especially on a large or greater map. Is this true for DA? I've played DL and when i take an enemy's capital, they just move the capital, no automatic surrender. I've only played nuetral until now, I though the automatic use of all til
