My machine is about the bottom end that you'll see out here now....K6III+ 450Mhz, 256Mb RAM. The GNN robot has always been smooth as glass and the movies were fine before beta 4z when they, all of a sudden, developed the clunky syndrome where the sound comes in bursts and the motion is a bit jerky. It's the sound, more than the motion that really breaks the illusion of smoothness, I think, though the doors definitely open in stages.... Played two games so far and had one crash to desk

Well, I downloaded it with DGM and played my usual first game in a tiny galaxy. The only flaw in the ointment was that the movies are still clunking (whatever you put in a thread behind them in 4Z is what started that happening). Both the picture and the sound are coming in chunks with pauses between while something else is updating. The game went well. No crashes or wild happenings of any kind except for those pesky Drengins getting a planet that came up to a 31 with habitat improve

And I still want the "make peace with..." option. The consequences don't have to be automatic, and they can reply in the negative immediately or not, but you shoud have some way of knowing what the outcome of a peace offer was, too.

I don't think so. But they WERE going through bouts of bankruptcy or something where all their production would halt. Still, they ended with a higher social score than me, and that's not easy! :-) Also, I note that the start screen said they were "tough" opponents, but the metaverse submission had them as "normal."

The game before this, the little pie chart in the lower left split itself between two extinct races. My current game just bailed out to desktop abruptly when, in the middel of negotiating some funds and influence for trade goods, I tried to select the Arcean's influence points to suggest an amount..... We are allies, if that helps....

In my last game I had a late-game non-fatal bug where the science screen kept coming up at every turn. Nothing bad happened, just close the screen and carry on, but a bit of a nuisance.

Hmmmm.....the only real bug I've noticed is that the movies are now choppy. The game play has been pretty smooth and mostly the AI's are resistant to tech blandishments when I put their star systems on the table. They ought to BE on the table, though, I think, because once your tech superiority creates a really LARGE gap, that should be a sign to them to switch.... I haven't seen alliances on the table, though, so haven't been able to propose them. Usually I win by lots of tr

Possibly it might. I don't have any other ships in my present game that are sitting on starbases. And my navy and tech are mean enough that I expect a cultural win in the near future. My opponent has more population than me, but his star systems are starting to defect under pressure from my bases.... (I just got his biggest one surrounded and in the process its neighbour defected. It won't be long now). The game is otherwise quite stable and I can live with the update thing

The latest beta looks pretty good but I have noticed two small bugs in it. 1. There seems to be some sort of memory leak that affects the ship controls, locking me out of them after a good deal of play. Saving the game and restarting the program clears the condition. 2. Whenever there is a small freighter on a star base, an arriving constructer moves right onto the starbase and I don't get the "do you want to update this starbase" menu. Hitting the build button brings up th

Heh-heh, I run my economy at full spending for years.... But there is a CTD in the Details screen if you try to change planets. Also the text displayed for the button that toggles from planets to star systems on the planet screen has a missing text string. And I've had a couple of lockups when two of my survey vessels hit the same spot on autosurvey. And occasionally a constructor won't improve a station automatically--have to tell it to.

Beta 4 seems to lock out the TURN button for some silly reason. The whole game appears to be functioning with my starbases rotating and all things happening like they should insofar as accessing my ships and planets and stuff, but if I try to put a ship on autopilot, it just stores the destination and doesn't actually move and the TURN button says the AI's are still taking turns--but forever? In a tiny galaxy?
