The contest rules state specifically: Employees of Stardock, Dell, Alienware, Microsoft, their friends and immediate families are not eligible to enter.
I can understand why Stardock, Alienware, and possibly Microsoft employees would not be eligible but how was Dell involved in this contest? Also, why would the friends be excluded? :NOTSURE: I am just curious, so it's not a big deal if this goes unanswerd.
CarGuy, did you refresh the XML data in SDC (under tools/settings/internet)?
That did it. Thanks :) Prickly Pear, that skin is called Elegance and can be found here... [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=6354&libid=1"]WWW Link[/link]

There has been great strides in modern medicine in the past few years. I hope that the type of cancer your wife has been diagnosed with is one that is treatable so you both can have many more years together. I wish you both the very best and her a speedy recovery. God Bless, Mike (CarGuy1) Bought the dream as I am sure money will be tight, hope it helps in some small way.

I see Fuzzy logic and Zubaz submitting questions for the mods and since they are mods themselves, I assume this post is directed to the ones that moderate submissions. But wait a minute, doesn't Zubaz moderate Object Dock subs? :NOTSURE: So, since I am probably not the only one that is confused, here are my questions... How many levels of moderators are there? Will each of the mods introduce themselves and give us an idea as to what their assigned duties are? Are all

Currently playing... Crysis Portal Games I got for Christmas but haven't found the time to play... Unreal Tournament 3 Call of Duty 4 Halo 2 Blacksite: Area51 Timeshift Funny, the kids buy me PC games for Christmas gifts so they can play them first knowing I have little time to spend playing them myself. I figure I have enough to play and keep me busy until next Christmas. ;)

Years ago the program "Windowblinds" came out for Windows 3.1 and it did the coolest thing; it allowed you to roll up your open window like a set of Venetian blinds. I have been hooked ever since. Since I have been lurking around for a quite a while, I decided to come out of hiding and join the community. ;)
I wouldn't' say that Vista sidebar gadgets qualify. They are not SD Products.
Since DesktopX allows you to export as a Vista side bar gadget I cannot fully agree with your statement. Once more DesktopX users migrate to Vista, I feel certain more will be converted to Vista gadgets. To give an example, here's one you created as a Vista sidebar gadget...
The wording needs to be changed from screenshot of the day to FEATURED SCREENSHOT.
I find this to be the most sensible solution to this issue. The title "Screenshot of the day" instantly makes one think that it should change daily. If the title is changed to Featured Screenshot, no one would complain if it's up for a month or more.

Not only should you back up, you should also mirror the back up drive if possible. This is dependant upon how important your data is to you. Remember there are 2 kinds of drives, ones that have gone bad and ones that are going to go bad. All hard drives eventually die.

I know this sounds strange but you have to turn UAC on for DesktopX to work. You can use TweakVista to change UAC to remove all prompts for elevation and that will stop the constant nagging. Be aware that even running UAC in this mode, UAC will not allow some thing like printing to a PDF to take place. That in it's self caused me to dump SP1.

Wonder what happened to this? The current "Screen Shot Of The Day" has been up for a month. If this is the norm, the title should be changed to "Screen Shot Of the Month".

If you have your taskbar to "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows", the watermark is always visable. If you uncheck that option in the taskbar properties, it will be behind the taskbar and not visable. Note: After you uncheck the "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" check box in the taskbar properties, make sure to refresh your wallpaper to hide the watermark.

The quality of GIF's makes them not suitable for wallpaper usage. From Wikipedia, The format uses a palette of up to 256 distinct colors from the 24-bit RGB color space. It also supports animations and allows a separate palette of 256 colors for each frame. The color limitation makes the GIF format unsuitable for reproducing color photographs and other images with continuous color, but it is well-suited for more simple images such as graphics or logos with solid areas of color.<
50 is a sign that there is something slowing it down
Ya think? ;) That does explain it though, since that's about what I got on my Vista system with a 320mg 8800gts video card. It also took about 50% of both cores on my AMDx2 5000 CPU. I bought the Winter Snow dream and it ran perfect so I gave up on Snowflakes. :NOTSURE:

LogonStudio Vista worked fine for me with SP1/RC. I did have issues with DesktopX gadgets. The fix for those was to turn UAC on and use Tweat Vista to make it stop prompting. Then I had an issue of UAC not allowing me to print to a PDF. SP1 has too many problems for me so I restored the complete system backup I created prior to the SP1 install. Funny thing, I could not tell if SP1 was any faster, even the benchmarks I ran were close to the same results. Dump SP1 is my suggestio

I find that the hand curser starts out as the default Windows curser for a few seconds and then displays the correct curser for the theme that is loaded. This happens for all curser theme sets. It bothered me enough to uninstall and reload CurserXP. (:(
