Hmmm.... is it Ferral cat or Ferrel cat? Well, the full name is Ferrel Mewler. It's a play on word that I made up when Ferris Bueller's Day Off was in the theaters. I was playing AD&D and need a character name. Ferrel is a play on the word feral, meaning wild. A mewler is a type of cat. Put them together and you get wild cat. I know, I know, but it sounded clever back then. I've heard a lot

Torians. Spanish Fly? Is that wrong? Old VHS tapes of the 6th grade classic "Miracle of Life". If you've seen it, you'll get the joke
When I was a kid we used to make functioning Lego Guns. Built a reinforced gun frame with a slot near the front to hold one end of those industrial strength rubber bands, looped the other end around a 2x4 block that was half attached to the top rear of the gun. The longer your "barrel", the more powerful they were, but you had to seriously reinforce your structure to keep the gun from exploding in your hands, the longer it got. Flicked the lego piece off with your thumb to fire it, and th
I've always thought that the developers intentionally included game elements that would allow you to make mistakes, thus penalizing lazy players and rewarding those willing to do a little research. I think it makes the game more interesting. It keeps it from being an environment where all you try to do is more and more of the "right" thing and forces the player to think critically. I completely agree. The game would be very boring if I always had the same building

After you invade and conquer a planet with your troops, they just start multiplying the very next turn. Amazing! Instant baby making machines, those Marines can do it all! I wonder if its still "Don't ask Don't tell" in the 23rd century.

Another inconsistancy is the fact that ALL planets start at a cap of 6B people. So that little rock you colonize that is toxic and has a PQ of 2 can hold just as many people as that massive utopia you find with a PQ of 28. In all seriousness I kinda wish Stardock would tweak that, where starting population cap was dependent on the size of, or at LEAST the PQ of the planet.
However I remember one of my suicidal testbeds about a half a year ago, where I tried the Super Diplomat trait. There I could buy small planets from the AI, but abandoned the game after about one game-year. There was waaaaaaay too much MM involved in the constant trading with ~15 AIs, but without it I couldn't "fuel" development of my planets. A death trap.
That micromanagement is exactly why I just ended it on a diplomatic victory. And the ships I purchased, although "

How about the fact that the Yor, who are supposedly tireless robots, are in fact NOT the most industrious when compared to the Thalans. I mean, seriously, robots or insects?? I would think robots would build factories faster

Spreadsheets and formulas! We are getting fancy and high tech now. Firebender would get mad and say that cold, hard calculations from an unthinking computer would ruin the suspense of it all. Not to mention it would remove the drama of questioning the scoring that was tallied by a human. Or even appealing the results after they were posted!

There were no losses submitted and no nonsubmittals, so they "base" score would be equal when it comes to earning points for your wins, but since we were using the averages for some bonus scores, the individual scores are definitely not irrelevent.
