I need to correct myself as AMD/ATi have changed their release dates. The 4850 and 4870 will now both be released on June 25th. I failed to mention in my last post that the Nvidia cards are being released on June 17th. Also, AMD/ATi have been planting information that was undervaluing the specifications and speed of their new GPU's to throw off Nvidia(I'm guessing Nvidia is probably doing the same thing). This means the cards could be more capable than what was being anticip
Does this work online?
I've never tried it but, it should as long as everyone you're playing with is running the same exact mod. PS. Thanks for everyone's interest in this mod.
When's the next version tho?
When it's done. I want this version to make the original look utterly craptacular. :d It takes time though. :NOTSURE:
I have no clue. My only advice would be to re-download the files and install them again. Also make sure your version is actually 1.04. If you updated to 1.05 unknowingly you should just need to replace the old Malice files with the changed Malice gameinfo files from 1.05. :)
did this mod die?
Not quite. I'm just busy working on my other mod atm. My goal is to get my visual mod nailed down and then work on my gameplay mod. My development team consists of one sleep deprived person modding 38-56 hours a week. :p On top of that I'm not even paying him.
I'm planning on using the muzzle effect to make the Marza look like its generating a magnetic field of some sort. I might also be able to move the weapon point on the mesh file to somewhere inside the planet so the asteroids don't have to go through the Marza. Glad everyone is liking the concept so far though. I'll try to polish it up. :)
Hi guys. I wanted to show you all the new concept for the Marza siege animation. I haven't tried to polish it too much yet because I wanted some feedback first. The hit effect on the other hand is near final. I'll be seeing it in my sleep for awhile... X-( Anywho, the basic concept is to have the Marza capture a loose asteroid and then slam it into the planet at high speed. Nice work :d How many polygons is that using?
I wouldn't dismiss the 4x00 series. It's the first chip in AMD/ATi's new strategy of making powerful and very cost effective GPU's targeted at the mainstream. For the high end they're now going to jam together multiple chips onto a single PCB. AMD/ATi have streamlined their chip production methods and can create more chips, while doing it for less cost, than Nvidia. The 4850 is rumored to be at least 10% faster than the 9800 GTX at a 200$ launch price. The 4870 is supposed to b
btw, got an ETA on the new version?????
I haven't made a single release date I've given yet so, at the risk of owing Blizzard Entertainment a royalty fee... When it's done. Just know I'm putting all my free time into modding. :) *Edit
btw, got an ETA on the new version?????he said by the end of this week, he should have about 2/3(?) of it done.
Hopefully. :p
everything's working great so far! I love all the effects! The only minor complaint I would have is for the Vasari Marauder: The green beam doesn't seem to have any kind of impact effect on the ship it is fired upon. Besides this... great work!
All the impact effects have been fixed in the new version. :) I'm working hard between shifts at work to finish it. I truly hope the old version looks like utter crap when I release the new one.
I LOVE this effect. DANMAN
I'm still on the fence about it. :/ I'll to put together another version to see if it turns out better while using less particles. I'll keep the current one on the back-burner though. I'm hoping to at least get the TEC finished and most of the Vasari effects conceptualized this week, but we'll see what happens.
Are Advent all finished then?
Nope. I still have to redo all their weapon effects with the Particle Forge to reduce the number of particles in their animations. They were using way too many resulting in a noticeable slowdown. Once again though, I have a few days off from work this week and should get a lot done. :D
/drools that's epic. keep it up!

Epic indeed... realease soon?
:d It'll still be a little bit. I'm just fine tuning all the TEC effects right now to make sure they're not using too many particles. The next race on the to do list is the Vasari. :)
/bump.still can't wait for the kol beam of death 7.0!!!
Psh, Its on v 9.0 atm. ;) TEC is almost done. I just need to finish the muzzle/hit/travel graphics for the new lasers and the new Marza Animation. It's going a little slow right now due to the fact I'm in the middle of a six day stretch of work. I should have more days off next week though. I expect to get a lot done then.
It may run slow at times, as the merge with WLD mod added tons of particle weapon effects. This can be hard on some computers. So make sure you turn off all your other programs before playing Sins.DANMAN
heh, sorry bout that. The next version will look and run better. :d
Nice work, Lost_WLd. Keep it up!
:D You too. :d
Looks great! But ... This mod requires V 1.04. That's pity, because I think most of us are running V 1.05I'm sure you have already noticed this , by the way... I am downloading the mod now, I will give feedback when I am able to. spacemuppet
The current version should work fine with 1.05. You just need to replace the Malice game info files.
Yeah I saw your YouTube Marza siege video. It kinda looked like a machinegun, sorry. Didn't look that cool.[
Any plans to change Vasari Plasma waves? Because they're probably my least favorite looking projectile in the game.
Yes actually. I'm trying to make them look like a green Tron disc :p Here was my first attempt and what is currently in It starts as the green ring, then the outer part winds up and keeps spinning. Dunno if I like it though. :/ Think I'm going to try again.
Ohhh, move the files from the PF folder :P Thanks, ManShooter. Fixed both problems :D
Is anyone else having problems getting texture animations to work? :/ Each time I've tried to use one it has resulted in the white bars of "no texture found!" ;p I've also tried all the particle pipelines to no avail. I'm pointing the Particle Forge to the texanims in the game default install folder. Any advice or tips? I'm really curious to see what they all do... :d
I found it is most expedient just to make a copy of the PF in your mod fold
Oh man just rewatched video. A few Krosovs doing that would be nothing short of Annihilation (that capital letter is meant to be there). Will definitely download your updated mod when it is released. Oh, have you updated the Marza Dreadnought's Raze ability? Now that would be EPIC!
Ha, It's normal siege is already more epic :D. All three of the siege capital ships have a unique sieging animation.
WOW, the explosions look's way better then in version 1
Lost_WLD:Glad your listening. Can you check your mod for those explosion errors that keep saying "Cruiser O explosion effect not found"?See above for Arakcheev's error report.Thank you.DANMAN
I actually didn't mess with any explosions in the last release, but my guess would be something went awry in the Explosions.explosiondata Gameinfo file. (:( I'm going to give the file looksy. *Edit Yeah, the Explosions.explosiondata files are different. I
I believe it is from WLd's mod and Uzii's mod DANMAN
D'oh!
