In all honesty multiplayer doesn't interest me at all so I don't care when they release it I got elemental for modding and the single player game.

I have to admit I do think the spy is over powered, he can slay whole armies of weaker creatures by himself in one turn. Actually one issue with combat rating is it often isn't a good reflection of the real units power. Archers for instance are more powerful than they are credited as is the spy, in his case much more powerful. As for the imp I didn't even bother in the last game currently he is next to useless to be honest.
One thing I would like to see is a more complex to hit roll and a % chance of hitting when you hover over a target like in X-Com. For bows at least range / Cover should count. I also have to agree I think to hit chance and damage should be seperate. One particular gripe I found when playing today and otherwise enjoying myself; Obsidian Golems have low attack but such high defense and hits that fight with them can get dull and be very long too. e.g. MISS,
Internet rage is a bit like road rage, people tend to forget all standards of civilized behaviour on the internet and loose all sense of perspective. I mean wishing someone dead because your disapointed in a game you bought from them, not sure I'd want to stay on a forum where that sort of behaviour was tolerated. I perfer a somewhat more mature level of discussion. Just to say I'm really not to bothered by initial problems with Elemental, that's because I know it will be fixed and wi
The improvements sound good to me, and I have to say that I am having fun with the current version of elemental even though it has a few issues. It only crashes ocasionally on my system too (less than starcraft2 for example). All the improvements outlined here sound good at least in principle. and I can confirm that Stardock expansions are normally radical extensions of their games so very much appriciate the substantial jesture of offering the first update free. I for
I too support them, I wouldn't say the game is unplayable, I mean it crashes less than Starcraft2 on my system anyway. But I think they did underestimate the system specific issues that all PC games have now because of the diverse software and hardware environments. As for , balance, system bugs and broken functionality, yes there where more than expected. But since I've been in the beta since the start and since I know how stardock constantly look to improve there games I'm not reall
I have to say it's been buggier than I expected mostly minor data bugs and a few crashes, but still a bit weaker than I thought it would be. Still very enjoyable and they are as always giving it plenty of support.....to be honest I think of this as the fully featured beta. As far as crash bugs are concerned I've had a lot less of those from Elemental than for example starcraft2 although it does ocasionally crash or atleast did before the last update. To be honest I thi
It appears that if you create a custom faction they have no tech trees. I thought maybe I just forgot to assign one but there is no option in the faction creator.
First let me start by saying elemental is a cool game and great fun. However I find the following are either bugs or odd decisions. 1. All my off spring regenerate 4 mana and life a turn during combat, but my channeler doesn't. 2. I built a Dragon Roost but still can't recruit dragons (does this work in a special way e.g. you don't just train them. 3. As Empire I can get a tech that exposes darkling towns but can't build on them be
I have no strong wish to put in flying units but it wouldn't be to difficult I imagine so we may see it in a future update. Not sure it really adds that much to the game though. As for see going units I believe they are in already.
Wouldn't it be good if GC3 had a more realistic model of space combat, this would also create the opportunity for meaningful technology development beyond lasers 1,2,3, etc. The best rendition of semi-realistic space combat I've read in print is in the Nights Dawn Trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton. It takes account of facts of movement in space such as once you have accelerated to a c
I've seen a bug where mana doesn't regenerate.
Yes I've had that bug a few times, generally after casting the familiar spell when playing the fallen.
I'm curious about this too, with the lighting effects not working in your build, and not all the spells in yet? Plus you've made some gameplay changes that seem to need testing. Best regards, Steven.
fixing the particle engine is probably pretty trivial actually, after all it has been working fine for some time, someone must have checked in a change too that build that inactivated it
This seems to happen at random times, but always when the games been running a while http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8889140/Elemental0_805-2010-07-08T21-23-56-104.zip
I would have thought all the text will get a proof reading before the release.
Yes I see what you mean it works a bit but is far from perfect, I think it will be rated as compatable by nvidia but with some issues and it's hardly the best show case because of the extreme zoom you are normally at.
Actually I could try myself with the beta at least in red / green 3D :-)
Actually in the 3A beta there are a reasonable variety of creatures, certainly more than in previous betas, of course many are variations on a theme of course e.g. various types of spider, a variety of ogres, wolves of a couple of different types, trolls, darklings, various types of strange crab spider type things and darklings, also skith, various types of creature related to dragons, even a couple of dragons. No undead yet that I've seen. But I think there is already a fair
I don't think they've given a specific comment on this, it's still a bit of a nich market. However like most games with a 3D engine it will mostly work, though it might have depth issues with particles and the mouse pointer as many games do.
So, unique not-direct-damage spells, eh? What I have been thinking about for the past week, but not really fleshed out, is a new book. We have summoning spells already, though I have not really been able to explore what is in the game at this point (CTD, bug, CTD, ad nauseum). What I have been thinking about is a Book of Transformations. Rather than (probably) costing a lot of mana and potentially essence, transformations instead cost you re
