I would point out psychoravin that Beta 2 coming up is the multi-player beta so while as Brad said multi and single player don't have to be the same it will have an effect on the way people play test the beta. Anyway I realise that the game is not supposed to be balanced yet and that just about ever

Yes I know that's how it works for soldiers but it seems to be the same when you design your sovereign, the difference being that you need to research arms and armour for your soldiers and they take more resources to produce. My point is when customising the sovereign before the game you can give them a really big combat advantage at zero cost by choosing armour and a broadsword for them. This will mean that especially in multiplayer everyone will do so. That's really my point
Lets talk Sovereign customisation and equipment. I've noticed that in the beta your sovereigns attack and defence stats depend mostly not on what Strength, dexterity points you spend but on what equipment you give them. Now it's all very well and realistic that a man carrying a broadsword has a
The polygamy trait would only have an advantage if your Sov is male, marrying multiple me won't improve a female Sovs birthrate
Partly true, a female soverign might have more children that way because of varying fertility of her partners, but it would be more of an advantage to males certainly.
Although Channelers have long life spans we know normal mortals don't, so I suggest wives become infertile, and that wives and husbands should both die at random ages. Interestingly from the beta although your grown children do become champions you can't currently equip or pose them as far as I can tell. Hopefully this will be added. Interested seriously if Stardock will add polyigimy as an advantage, e.g. you can have multiple spuses and hence a higher number of children in a
Basicly some of us got into the beta by pre-ordering before the first beta came out. There was a deadline to get in, soon they will let more prople in.
Ok, so will your partner die in elemental or loose fertility if female. I was just playing a beta game and my wife had our third child at 69 years old. I know I'm immortal but she isn't. Also can we have an option to have anumber of wives / Husbands at once. also would it be possible to have the option to equip our grown children? I realise this may be intended for later.
Myself, I would go for treating any population not assigned to a military unit and not including heros as a general labour force.
It is hard to apply classic genetics when you are in a world of magic and magical manipulation. Genetics imply in evolution and evolution imply in the complete logical destruction of all pre-made creatures and whatnot. That aside, you also incur in the problem of turning magic into some sort of deus ex machina for medieval biotechnology - "Hey, lemme use this spell to grow a steel skin in this lineage of Skorgs" - and in the backgroun
If fallen are magicly twisted humans in essence, there is no reason they shouldn't be able to cross-breed with men, geneticly they could be rather close. Morphological differences don't necassarily denote genetic incompatability. Look at the variety of dog phenotypes that can be interbreed.
I have the occulus reg key now but where do I get it do I register that as a new key against demi god? I already have one. Instructions are very unclear.
I was wondering the same it's not in the games list for download or registration.
I've seen this too but only with various types of houses that turn automaticly into inns. Also noticed that you can build houses on a square that had an inn you just destroyed, very odd bug.
No crashes at all, actually none with the last Beta either after I rebuilt my machine with windows 7 last week Elemental seems more stable.
On the Subject of Soverign creation I would like to see a flaws system included So we can define weaknesses as well as strengths for the Soverign. I would also like to see cosmetic customisation options and a pose system so that the zoomed out minature version for the cloth map would be posed in a position you like. This sytem could also be used for custom units. I agree picking a faction should not fix any aspect of your soverign other than deciding if they are Fallen or Huma
Yes so you can span a certain number of cities but the more cities you create the weaker your soverign becomes as an individual. If they get it right things should balance so a large empire with a weak caster and a small kingdom who's soverign has horded essence are fairly well matched overall.
Frogboy, is there any intention to have flaws you can select which give you more points to spend on other advantages and to help better define your soverign as an individual.
Yes I believe I've read that as well, I fully agree also that they should be special units rather than run of the mill cannon fodder.
Similar to an idea I posted before I read this on soverign handling in the developers journal though not exactly the same idea.
To expand upon the idea I posted on this thread this morning; Ideas on Sovereign vulnerability – IMO the Sovereign should be like a cross between the King & Queen in chess e.g. the most powerful piece you have at least potentially, but a piece
On Sovereign Handling - When a Sovereign establishes a city you should give them the option of spending an extra point of Essence to place a Relique there. This will act as a sort of home for their soul should their body be destroyed. So if they are killed in battle they are transported to the nearest Relique instead of dying. They should then have to spend 5 essence to reincarnate themselves before they can move around or cast other spells again When capturing a city you woul
The memory leak bain of programmers everywhere... pretty much whenever something runs well for a while and then gradually gets laggier & laggier it's a memory leak, I'm sure Stardock are interested in finding and squashing these ASAP.
I would like to see all units fully customisable, it's one of the big features that attracted me to the game. For me it's not just about their stats in the game it's about letting my imagination run wild, to units with very similar stats may have very different equipment names and descriptions. I want to be able to create my own world as I play so this is essential. For me in GC2 designing ships never got old and was always fun. I'd like to be able to make cosmetic customisations as w
I love the idea of info cards in Elemental and the idea of creating my own card description for units I design. Make it so Frogboy.
