From reading this and the other thread here discussing IP and copyright it can clearly be seen that some people have an enormous sense of entitlement to use other peoples work without paying them anything. They would like there to be no laws governing IP. That would mean an end to the video game, music, book and film industries, these things take a lot of time and resources to make and people need to make a living so making these things needs to be profitable anyone who doesn’t understa

Personally I haven’t got a problem with people using DRM to try and protect their IP, provided that it doesn’t interfere with my legitimate use of my own computer, open it to security problems or cause damage to hardware like my DVD drive, (that noise my drive makes with the Crysis DVD in can not be good I don’t care what EA say).. I agree Piracy is bad for everyone in the long run and would not pirate software, people have a right to expect to be paid for their work, if you won’t pay,
Yes Inertia means that the mass of an object will affect its manoeuvrability. In a vacuum it’s shape that doesn’t matter because of lack of friction with the air.
It is a little mean I would have given it about 70%, it's really not a great game but it's not 4 out of 10 bad.
Piracy has nothing to do with Crysis not selling more; Crysis was a game which essentially was aimed at very, very high performance PCs. I have such a PC and at least the first half of the game is great and it truly does look amazing on a top end rig like mine…but even on my machine which is cutting edge I get about 20 – 30 FPS at 1024 x 768 on Very High settings. So Crytek essentially produced a game which was too demanding for 90% of PC gamers, it will sell more as people upgrade and
Really, cool I'll have to check when I get home. I normally only check on a Thursday evening since they normal release between 10 and 11.30 pm on a Thursday (UK Time). P.S. In that case I can't help.

I’m very excited about Spore, I should add the cartoon graphics don’t bother me at all and fit the game very well for a number of reasons; 1. It is not possible to simulate a realistically sized planet with a realistic population in any detail on any PC today. For this reason they’ve had to go for tiny “Little Prince” type planets if they had a realistic art style it would clash with these caricatured scaled down planets. 2. 3. As has been indicated making realistic looking cre
Sovereign of sorcery LOL
Actually I like that one.
I'm inclined to believe it does affect the roll to determine how good an Anomaly is, I do seem to notice a marked increase in good out comes with it. Also I have to say I think it helps the roll to see if you discover something with the Creative ability too. I had no idea about the weapons damage thing, though it does explain the affectiveness of some of my ships. I wonder if we could get official clarification?
The new fantasy strategy game sounds really interesting can’t wait to hear more about it and the idea of GC3 using the same engine is also very intriguing. Beta 5 of TA also sounds good. Anyway thanks for giving us the update.
How about for the once yearly vote the race with most influence get's to choose the proposal regardless of if that is the player or another race?
I can’t help but agree the Iconians have massive economic problems; partly because of high building maintenance, partly because they lack advanced forms of government. Although there tech tree is interesting, the Iconians are the weakest race in the game hands down because of this problem. I struggle so much more with them than any other race.
In TA it depends more on the race, some races can stand higher populations than others because of better morale technology, and disposition. Generally though with the exception of the Thalian home world I try never to go above about 20bil.
Actually I noticed the way resources had changed too, rather liked it though it did make them hard to see. Didn't consider if it was a bug.
So basicly that was a no then....
Let me be the first to ask can we expect another Beta update today or if not today this week?
superluminal communication
So how does non-point to point superluminal communication work in any case? The humans had contact with an automated probe from the Acreans didn't they? No Superluminal communication involved.
Ok can someone explain to me how Humans manage to share the secret of hyerdrive with all the other races. The same way they shared Beatles music with space
Radio waves travel at sub-light sp
Ok your somewhat odd resentment of Blizzard aside have you actually played Starcraft?
True about the gameplay, but bad graphics can scare casual gamers off. Also, It is lame that some people essentially worship the game. C&C 3 has good gameplay, and great graphics too, though, and thats why its my favorite RTS
I like C & C 3 just fine, but in terms of uniqueness of forces, fine balance, and enabling strategic play Starcraft beats it and most every other RTS out there hands down. That's why it has such an e-sports following that no other
I agree being able to mine gas giants like you do asteroids would be good, it would also give them some purpose in the game. As for plasma life forms on the surface of suns, etc. The real problem is they have little or no incentive to compete with carbon based life on the surface of planets that to them are hostile environments. True you could bring them in as special event “space monsters”, but their a little too Alien to be incorporated into the games mechanics.
Ok can someone explain to me how Humans manage to share the secret of hyerdrive with all the other races. Do they create thousands of hyper drive enabled probes and send them out across the galaxy. Clearly if they sent any sort of slower than light broadcast of the data it would take hundreds or thousands of years to reach the other civilizations by which point the humans will have probably already colonized most the galaxy using Hyper drive. That part of the back story has never made s
not have access to without tech trading or tech stealing. Will they soon have a way to add this effectively essential component to their bases soon?
Just move the mouse wheel there is no special mode.
The suspense is killing me....post the Beta already!!! ;)
