The raceconfigs are about a 50/50 chance, because of the new tech trees. The pictures themselves, however work. Just copy them to /MyDocuments/MyGames/GC2DarkAvatar/GFX/ and then /portraits and /logos respectively.

Not even the full strength of missile would get through - offtype defense should subtract about 3 points of damage, IINM.
1) As far as I know, the boxed version doesn't offer any extra goodies. 2) I got the collectors edition, it only adds some ship jewelry. Nothing functional or essential. Nice to have, but you're not really missing out on anything. 3) The digital download comes with zero installations. :P You register the games to your email address (important!) then install Stardock Central or Impulse. These tools allow you to automatically install all software you purchased from Stard
You should also clean out your 'My Documents/My Games/GC2TwilightArnor" folders. Some preferences get stored there, while they theoretically shouldn't interfere with a new install, it's best to delete them as well. Unfortunately, you'll only know when the install didn't work - and you're experiencing the bug again. dave: You can't possibly imagine that the entire tone of your posts may have had something to with it? Or the fact that you insisted that you're doing everything
Well, TA would be preferable, as it not only has custom tech trees (allowing you to basically have a tech tree with nothing BUT your custom techs) but a rather nifty Tech Tree editor as well. (And improvements, think about it: Transgenic studies enable a civilisation super project that gives a planet e.g. production bonus because of 'optimised' workforce). In DA, yes, you have little choice but modify the big tree. Also, ALL races will have access to the new technology.
CaptainYar: Don't forget 'bozo'! Hey, can I have 'Chief Bozo' as a custom access level? :P Actually, re-reading this thread, I'm amazed at how civil people stayed in face of all the insults and still tried to offer help...
I suspect not even Mumbles Gigantic games last that long. ;) You should zip up your savegame and mail it together with the description to gc2bugs. That way, the developers have a test game without having to wait fo 1024+ turns for this bug.
Let me put it this way... { Kryo.Age++; Congratulate(Kryo); } :P
The best bet would be to start a game and then take a screenshot of the tech-tree. I think someone's working on a project to display the tech-trees in a nicer overview, but I have no idea how far along the project is.
Are you playing a standard game or Metaverse? The custom maps and scenarios are disabled for Metaverse play.
And that, my friends, is how to introduce yourself properly to one of the most helpful gaming communities I know.
I found that one of the best colours to choose is a subdued green / olive. No other race has anything similar and it is quite easy on the eyes. However, a function to randomoise race colours on galaxy generation would be nice - that way, even with blind exploration off, there still would be an element of surprise.
Most of the time, you should be keeping an eye on those mines with the rebellion symbol anyway. Especially in late game, flipping of mines is such a common occurence, that centering the screen would be more annoying than helpful.
If it's really the case of installing the release over the beta, all I've got to say is RTFM.
Don't know about a hotkey. But aside from the TA feature of autolaunch, right-clicking on the news icon launches the ship in question.
It's not working as intended, although this behaviour dates back to Dark Avatar. The Peacekeeper event is the reason why I usually play with Mega Events off. However, if you keep regular autosaves, you can just go back to your last save before the event. Chances are, you won't be getting it again.
This has been around for as long as anomalies. The AI only builds scout ships, not survey ships. That means that usually a human player can dominate the galaxy in terms of anomalies. Unless the AI gets changed in a future update, of course. ;)
Very nice pictures and logos. Downloaded and assimilated into my ever growing collection. ;)
Population and tax rate. The economy boni of the various improvements and the racial abilities get added after that.
Hm. Interesting. With the new HP modules, the cargo hull certainly became a lot more attractive.
The Year Zero Club, in its continuing efforts to bridge all animosities between the various empires, hereby extends an invitation to the re-formed Geckodon Alliance. The first member to satisfy our criteria (Zero Year Win) will get a special treat: Kzinti-On-A-Stick. We feel that is only fair, as the Kzinti got a Lizard-On-A-Stick as their welcome gift.
If you've been updating the game weekly, then you've been playing the Beta. The new harder economy is by no means anything that got changed in the last patch. If you don't want computer players colonising extreme planets from the start, disable Super Abilities. Then again, I assume you knew that. I also assume you know how to set the tech research speed and that it scales with the mapsize. Of course, you know that the predesigned Star Furies aren't any help anyway, because any
I thought only the Kzinti ate their enemies?
I've never seen the AI put any value in the IPs during trade.
Nah, you see, every point of production is stored in an extra bit in computer RAM, so excess production, especially on huge maps, means an exponential increase in resource usage... Seriously, though, a change like that would naturally use no resources at all. Something similar is already in effect: When you conquer a planet, the build queue is cancelled. However, as soon as you start a new ship construction, the amount of production previously generated are used to build the new sh
