In a game with the main focus on sandbox play, 'cheesy storyline' isn't really a con. So, indeed, 5 out of 5 were the minimum to be expected. Outstanding success for one of the last true single players games, which was a majour seling point for me. I even stopped playing Sins because all the patches seem to focus on multiplayer balance...

I (and several others) noticed this during the release of Twilight: After choosing an installation path*, Impulse adds 'Stardock/Totalgaming.net/' to the path. That is clearly wrong, if I choose a specific path, I want the software to be installed exactly there. (*) Expansions shouldn't ask for a path anyway, as they need to be installed in the correct subfolder of the main game.
Impulse is, sadly, always going to add the "Stardock\TotalGaming..." etc. to your path, so when installing, you have to be sure to tell Impulse to point a few levels higher than where you THINK the expansions need to be installed.
Not helpful. I don't want any Stardock or Totalgaming folders on that drive. ;)

Editors for DA won't be released, if you're talking about the 2.0 version, I think the latest dev journal said something about Q3 this year.

I also found the rangers far from indestructible. Usually my opponents find one - it's just a matter of a concentrated effort to avoid and later destroy that ship. The AI may not be able to deal with that situation properly, though.

1) Zoom-To-Cursor instead of Zoom-To-Centre 2) Fix the MCC description 3) A third tech trading option: Allow trades except for the racially unique techs ('No tech brokering') 4) Allow espionage on Minor Races 5) Allow more AI players - on Immense maps, 9 opponents aren't enough

Too bad this game is probably of non-interest to us European players. But I guess a dose of reality between the sci-fi of GalCiv and the fantasy title is a welcome change for you guys. ;)

Sounds great! Especially the Metaverse updates, a lot of people have been waiting for that. Any information about the 'enhanced espionage system'? Will it be as different as the current system is from the original DL?

Magnumaniac just posted a new legit record of 40600 points on a ZYW. That should be enough to see that these scores can't be achieved without cheating.
your supposed to need 5 of them i thought to even start that
Each crystal gives one Ascension point per turn. There is no lower or upper limit on the countdown.

[quoteBut truthfully, as cool as it is to watch an entire system go Ka-BLOOIE, I really don't use them. Too much effort to build them, and then to fragile when they are done.
I think the only purpose of Terrorstars is simply 'being cool'. By the time you can afford them (and build / escort them) you most likely already have one. They MIGHT be useful to blow up a system of the Dread Lords, if they have more than one planet. But it's unlikely that you'd be able to guard

I think you can use a custom race with a chosen tech tree, but no completely new tech trees. That would make the most sense, anyway.

Based on your analysis (that no amount of planetary boni can achieve that score) I'd say that either the scores themselves are edited or, to put a new idea out there, the turn-counter for the calculation was somehow changed. Depending on what IDEs those two have access to, it may have been even at runtime and then GalCiv itself would do the writing of the necessary checksums.

These messages are perfectly normal. The game looks for any possible additional files and reports there aren't any. I'd say it's actually helpful - if you place a file there and it still reports 'nothing found', you know that you've done something wrong.
