The forum link works perfectly, it also displays the registrations. US-1 in SDC gives me a failed validation, US-2 seems to work (give me an hour and I'll try submitting). Just found out: The error page goes away when I logout and then login using the gc2 page instead of the forum. Registrations are still blank, though. I would try reinstalling, but I'm a bit cautious lest my serials end up in Nirvana for good... EDIT Here's a screen of what the galciv2.com accoun
man your still playing with the games races alot of us have moved on by now and stoped playing with the games races unless your still playing DL if so upgrade to DA or TA which will be comming out very soon.playing with your own custom races is more fun.trust me youll be glad you did.
I doubt you could play modded races in Metaverse. Also, the TA beta (and this IS a beta report) doesn't have custom races enabled.
Well, I can't really comment on the new planet textures (95% of the time I spent in zoomed out view), but the new ship textures are simply amazing! The new planetary invasion screen is also something I'm looking forward to. It was really a shame that the old one was too loud and ugly, most of the time I just double-clicked to attack and skip the animation. Any teaser what we'll be getting?
1) Did you research any propulsion techs? Some of them give a base bonus to movement. 2) A farm raises the maximum population per planet. Beware of overpopulation though, if the planet gets too crowded, approval goes down and you have to lower taxes. Market centres give the exact bonus to income on that planet. 3) Anything economy related. There are quite a few techs that give a bonus to income, without having to build anything.
Bump. I now actually get ASP errorpages (compile error) when trying to access the account page from galciv2.com
So if we only intend to play TotA after release (or at least after MV is enabled) we can basically remove the old heightmap installation and still get more performance?
1) Probably goes along with the racial history that each race has. 2) Techtree editor has already been announced. 3) Super abilities naturally will be in TotA, but you won't be able to create your own.
Ruled out, as far as I know.
No, not yet. Thanks for reminding me.
I already have. However, switching to US-2 as server seems to solve the SDC problem. I'll try submitting to Metaverse later. And of course, my registration page still is blank.
Am I the only one with the problem? I have the sound volume sliders at their default value (like I had in DA), which gives me a nice and pleasant interface feedback. However, as soon as I enter combat, my eardrums get busted. The sound effects are loud enough that I can FEEL my subwoofer. If I turn the effect volume down so that I can listen to battles without going deaf, I can't hear any other sound effect (clicks etc.). This problem is the same that some people (me included)
Update to the Update: Nope, got home, checked SDC: "failed to validate". Curiously, when I go to galciv2.com and then on account information -> registration, I get a blank page where my serial should be. If I click on My Account -> registration here in the forums, it shows all serials?
I also bought the game in German. There are some tricks like copying / renaming the language subfolders. However, what REALLY works like a charm: Uninstall. Don't use the CDs you got, you only need the serial number. Install using SDC. You'll get the English version.
I'd really like to see some of the changes proposed. Currently I'm not even bothering researching and building food improvements, but if farm bonus tiles also provide a morale bonus, they'd be much more useful. Also, the idea that a world could export their excess food to other worlds, maybe with a special building required. Alternatively, you could use freighters to manually establish such export routes. You would have to give up a foreign trade-route, but you could then distr
Update: Registrations are back. You really could warn us when doing maintenance, I nearly had a heart attack yesterday. On the bright side, due to the lack of the next Beta, I could get an early start today and will have the whole weekend for gaming.
I'm already on US-1. However, since themoose gets the same symptom (blank registration on myaccount tab), after using 1.8f and then 1.8e, maybe the update really has something to do with this.
I just fired up SDC to check for the next Beta (yes, I'm impatient), and I got the message 'unable to validate registration'. Of course, I go and look at my registration info on the GC2 website, and... all of my registrations are gone?!? So I go to my mail account and get the last 'lookup serials' mail to enter the registration again. SDC tells me, 'registration successful'. Because I'm somehow doubt that, I close and restart SDC. And again, 'unable to validate registration'. I
There IS the "archive on update" option. However, I'd also really like the possibility to download patches for archiving from SDC. Or for comparing different versions.
Actually, as soon as you get about 30 - 40 people in a room, you can safely place a bet on two of them having the same birthday. But yes, Terror Stars to light the candles on the cake, now THAT would be sweet. Out of curiosity, what year is yours? If that's the same as well ('79 here), then Stardock simply HAS to move the schedule, democracy and all that.
...I'm peaceful and prospering... I dunno about prospering , what with the Depression and all.
I dunno about peaceful , but let's not go there...
Yay! Any chance you'd release Beta 3 on the 27th? That way I'd have Terror Stars for my birthday! Pretty please?
Could not initialize Direct3D device
Looks like some problem with Direct3D or your video settings. However, TA will feature a full blown, officially supported and SD developed editor, so I'd just wait until then.
I found that especially trading is effective when preparing a race for an alliance offer. Usually if I really want an alliance I use all my trade routes exclusively for that race. It takes only a few turns until they agree to an alliance.
Quite frankly, I do not know what might cause this at every pc game I play.
In that case, it's sounds definitely like a driver issue. Since it is a laptop, are you sure you installed all the special drivers it might need? Especially video and sound are often different to the ones for normal desktop computers - or you could check for some advanced power management options that are different now.
Lord Solar Macharius checking in as a new member of the Tyranny. With the Betas coming along nicely, I'll soon be submitting more games again. Let's crush the universe and its puny civilisations beneath our steel boots! (Or applicable foot- / tentacle- / pseudopod-wear of choice)
