I played WoW mostly (closing in on lvl 70), need to catch up to the girlfriend! :P I also played a bit of Europa Universalis III: In Nomine, but I'm finding it hard to get into the game compared to Hearts of Iron II for some reason. To top if off I've started a new Diablo II character in celebration of Diablo III. :D

Also, be sure to click the button at the top of the empire tree that stacks frigates into a single tile (by default it stacks frigates in groups of 10). This helps reduce the overall size. Additionally, if you are able, increasing the screen resolution will allow you to fit more of the empire tree onto the screen and it helps avoid the "jumping".
I agree, the soundtrack for Sins is pretty good. Battle 12 (the filename of the song in the Sins directory) is my favourite.
Windows XP made have needed to go, but Vista sure as hell isn't a suitable replacement (from a gamer's point of view).
Yes I'll agree in that they did push the release out before the drivers were completely ready but you can you blame ATI for wanting to put the heat on Nvidia? Nvidia does exactly the same thing so you can't blame ATI for not wanting to delay the card's release. That said the new 8.7 release will be a substantial release for almost all Radeon cards (its providing support way back to the 9500).
Sony already lost the F1 rights from what I know. Codemasters has them now. :)
You may need to run dxdiag and turn your "hardware acceleration" down to a level that makes the "popping" stop. This seems to be an issue with x-fi cards in many games these days...the x-fi cards are a huge waste of money.....in my opinion
Its worth it to get true hardware accelerated sound and to give the CPU one less task to do. They aren't even as expensive anymore.
Doesn't the Attack Move command do this job already?
Welcome to today's world Jixra. The world of the lazy user. :P
That graphics card is (to put it bluntly) is hideously old. I wouldn't really recommend running the game with it as you would struggle to get the game going in a playable form.
I've got an X-fi XtremeGamer card and I've noticed no problems. What driver are you using?
It was fixed in the latest patch as of writing (as far as I know - I haven't had it occur to me since the latest patch). Have you updated to the latest version of Sins and tried seeing if the problem still exists?
You're all wasting your time theorycrafting. Wait until we've actually played the damn thing. :)
I honestly don't know what you're talking about. There is NO DRM in Sins at all. The only thing involved is registering your serial and thats not a form of DRM, thats called providing a proof of purchase to Stardock so you can use their (quite generous) services such as downloading the game whenever you want and getting all the free updates you could ever possibly need. Please clarify your argument because it looks like you didn't link to the thread you wished to reference to. :)
The best RTS I played is Blitzkrieg, and it has no unit production at all. No production means no capping and no bullshit economies. Solves lots of problems.
Yes I remember that game. Probably one of the best games that gives you the type of challenges where you have to do with what you got. This is probably considered a complete hard-cap (as you're stuck with what the level designer gives you) but I'd say it gives y
For XP: Go to Control Panel > Network Connections There should be an entry under LAN or High-Speed Internet (usually labelled Local Area Connection or something similar). You can tell which one because it will also sport the name of your network card / device. Simply left-click it, and the information should be displayed in the information bar on the left of the Network Connections window. :)
There is a difference between strategy and tactics. Strategy is a plan implemented over a long period of time, while tactics is the opposite and involves decisions made on the spot. Sins should really consist of a mix of both (mainly because of the importance fleet battles serve within the game). Sins has a great array of strategy and thats all fine and good. There's alot to consider in regards to one's strategy that people have bought up in this thread (almost all examples mentioned in
All I can say is: Majority rules. If all businesses catered today to every minority in regards to their customer's needs they wouldn't last for very long. Sometimes you have to just build a bridge, get over it, and go with the flow. :)
[EDIT]Starcraft is a "no-cap"??!! O_o Seriously???!! Where does Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander fall??
Well considering the fact that almost all strategy games have some mechanic that controls the amount of total units being able to produce, I consider games that have no limit on the amount of any one unit you can build (apart from the convential and neccessary population cap) to be a no-cap. Starcraft goe
Gradiated soft-caps. Each player then can decide for themselves the point of no return. This leads to the greatest diversity as eventually any unit will become worthless because it's cost will be so high as to be a virtual hard cap. But that hard cap will be different for every player.
This sounds kind of like the system used in Rise of Nations (where the resource cost of a unit increas
Cool stuff (although I think some may not like to hear themselves analysed like this ). I can really relate to the first paragraph of your DISC profile especially.
Other than that I've had no issues personally (the only thing that annoys me in WoW is the Alliance to Horde ratio - they should force it to be as close to 1:1 as possible to keep things fair). Why? I can see that being a good thing on PvP servers but on everything else its kinda dumb...
Because it completely defeats the point of any of the outdoor PvP areas Blizzard tried to introduce to the game. That and it just makes it hard to do dungeons as Horde when every second pe

Here's the [link="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en"]WWW Link[/link] to the latest version of the Microsoft .Net framework. There are older versions too but I see no reason for anyone not to use the latest version.
The guy makes a point. Combat in Sins is largely based on your economic prowess and unit combination. There is little room for actual tactics during a battle and for the player to make any real difference to the outcome.
