My first real introduction to the Warhammer 40k universe was with the Dawn of War series of real-time strategy games by Relic Entertainment. From that moment I really enjoyed the 40k universe, and the variety of races that populated it. I enjoyed their representation in Dawn of War so much I couldn't resist getting some of the W40k minatures. In particular I really got attached to the Orks, a brutish civilisation (if you can even call it that) that loves nothing but to fight and wage

If this had dark black borders instead of grey I'd use it.
The expansions are being developed to prevent fracturing of the multiplayer community. If both players have a given expansion pack installed, the features are available, but if one does not, the expansion pack features are disabled for that particular game.
This does not sound like a complete solution in my opinion, as while yes we can still play with others without the expansion packs, if the expansion packs add so much to the original game (such as the
Provided the quality is up to the standard of the rest of the game (which I'm sure it will be) count me in for Entrenchment. :D
Good to see Stardock expanding! The world needs more games from Stardock, GPG and Ironclad. ;)
I really wish both of these titles on the Wii waited until they could get their hands on the new peripheral. I'm not interested in waggle duels.
I'd say about 40 (especially since I've left uni and I'm looking for work - too bad no-one wants to give me a go :( ). Mainly PC games, sometimes its on the Wii but I get bored of that pretty easily.
I laughed at the last book there (only because everyone knows your position at Stardock and all ). "Why Employees Don't Do What They're Supposed To Do and What To Do About It"
This is a really cool idea.
Man I'd love to attend all 3 of those. :(
After seeing the recent trailer (and recently getting back into SupCom) I'm pretty much sold on Demigod. Stardock and GPG have got themselves one more pre-order. :)
I can't wait to see more in regards to not just what Demigods will be available but how we are able to personalise each Demigod to our playstyle (within reason of the core design of the Demigod itself). I can't wait to see to what extent the item system will play, and what other sorts of systems are implemented (I'm hoping for a talent tree system of sorts that lets our Demigod excel in certain areas we desire).
Aww what, no pics? :P I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some Necrons myself as they look awesome, but my first goal with my recent entrance into 40k was to build a servicable army of orks (the battleforce set helped out well in that regard, and I've bought more kits since). I've got the majority assembled except for a few models, and have already done the undercoats and started to paint some. I really need to put some time aside to finish the job as they'd look awesome once do
With the recent release of the Radeon 4800 series of graphics cards, AMD appears to be continuing following its new strategy of putting its main focus on the mid-range market (which is the one most gamers aim for), with a big focus on creating cards with great cost-to-performance ratios. How effective has this strategy been working for AMD? In addition, is it more efficient overall to create a killer mid-range card that can be slightly tweaked to also cater to the other markets (eg- the GDDR5
Twilight of the Arnor is a 400MB download. I don't see why people are so insistant on wanting it from retail stores. :P
Which sort of brings the question of why static defences are offered in the first place? This IS an issue, if they aren't worth their cost don't just leave them there for suckers to buy. :P
What is wrong with buying it online from Stardock? I did it and got it months before it came to Aussie shores.
Hardware is one thing, but if developers aren't going to quit making outright shovel-ware for the Wii I doubt we'll see any real innovative use from it (apart from Nintendo of course).
I don't know want to mimimize the problems others have had with Impulse, but I have had zero problems. If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to check it out yourself.
Same here. Not one issue with Impulse since the beta release and I use it everyday.
Please don't forget that the Impulse forum is the Support forum. It is filled with everyone who has problems with it (which compared to the whole is not that many). What its not filled with is the legions of other gamers who are having no troubles with it. ;)
So long Scathis, good luck on your next adventure! Congratulations to TyoArk! I (along with alot of the other SupCom players) were pretty big fans with the higher level of gameplay you brought SupCom to with the Forged Alliance expansion so I'm confident you will do nothing but justice for Demigod as well. :)
For those who haven't had a chance to try the Space Siege demo yet, I've done the hard work for you. :) Video walkthrough / review of the demo by me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3ws1bPYfWg First time I've done something like this, I normally type these things but figured I'd have a crack at using my voice for once. :P
I wouldn't really call this a review folks (looks like more of a rant to me). I've got the full demo recorded and I'm uploading a video of it on YouTube now. I will be posting a proper write-up on it soon. Pro tip: don't try and play cutting edge games on a laptop, and then class that as having played the game as it was intended. :P
While we'd be honored to work with Massive, any deal would pretty much depend on their cash position, as we're not in a position to fund them. Stardock really only works with self-funded developers, which are a very rare breed in this industry.
Yes I figured as much but in this day and age of PC gaming I can't help but excercise some wishful thinking. ;)
This is sad news. Activision is trimming the so called fat with its newly acquired studios that came with the Vivendi merger. If you read the article some of these studios are responsible for the upcoming Ghostbusters game as well as World in Conflict (by Massive Entertainment). Activision has stated it will not be publishing these games, leaving the studios in limbo as Activision plans to sell them off. I've specifically singled out Massive Entertainment because I know that the
