I got a good game of GalCiv in as well. Really enjoyed it. I'd agree with what you put there Brad, thats a pretty good list of tweaks that wouldn't go astray.
Isn't Spore supposed to suck? Or rather it didn't turn out like it was promised to. ~Zoo
I'd say both heh. Once you get over the creators, you realise the actual game part of it is very lacking.
Yay, congratulations on the THQ agreement. There's some good games in that list, and its heart-warming to know we will most likely see Dawn of War 2 on Impulse.
It is annoiying, its like im talking to a bunch of children who are trying to act like animals... Fortunatly I ain't playing that game anymore. What a load of hype.
I stopped playing after I reached the space stage twice. I mean honestly the game has absolutely no qualities for the regular gamer (let alone the hardcore). Its way too casual.
Fully agree with this list. Every good PC game functionally has most of these features mentioned above. Some of the stuff mentioned in the list is covered by the Games For Windows initiative isn't it? I know widescreen support is one of them, but I'm unsure of what else are requirements.
I've decided not to get Warhead (not the retail one anyway) because of its DRM implementation, which is the now-infamous 3 installs and you're out drudgery apparently. Maybe I'll pick up the Steam version sometime if the game is really that good. For now I've got lots of other non-overly protected DRM infested titles to look forward to. I don't think I'll ever purchase another EA game again thats loaded with DRM, Spore was the last straw after I got not only sma
The only thing I've got beef with is GCII's handling of espionage (and the AI's annoying sudden love for it since the expansion), I'm really looking forward to seeing the espionage tweaks because it was the only thing that made me stop playing the game. The rest of the features look great, can't wait for the patch. :D
I'll be getting it, I enjoyed Crysis (until the alien parts) and Crytek have openly admitted that they made some mistakes in that regard that have been learnt from for Warhead. The redesigned multiplayer sounds good too, I enjoyed the original's multiplayer even though it was still an after-thought. It'll be good to see what it'll be like now.
I say serves EA right, I think Spore will be the last game I will ever purchase from them, the main reason I got it was because the gf likes the creature creator and figured there'd be a decent game behind it all (boy was I wrong there [e digicons]>_>[/e] ) .
Arguing about balance at this stage is pointless. What we are working towards from what I can gather is: 1- Getting Demigod in a technically solid and stable state. This is probably the most important thing to do first, because it makes it easier to test non-technical related parts of the game later on. 2- Finalising the game design elements not related to actual Demigod balance (ie- how to differeniate each Demigod to be different from one another, how the items will work and
Microsoft obviously wanted to try and meld their talent for the good of the 360, since they simply do not care about PC gaming anymore.
Yeah I've heard about this alot, getting stuck is also another variation.
They look so cool. [e digicons][/e]
The game has also been extremely stable for me also. Well done GPG. :D Bring on Beta1-A.
Looking foward to it!
Or its the computer literate that know when something is wrong.
Yeah I kinda don't put drinks ontop of my PC, thats just asking for something to happen. [e digicons][/e]
As of today, all "non-essential" employees at Ensemble Studios were laid off. Those still remaining are finishing work on the Halo Wars RTS for the 360. Ensemble Studios is probably best known for the Age of *insert name here* line of RTS games, indeed its the only range of titles the company has made during its lifetime. Its funny to see when the company decides (or forced) to do something remotely different, they end up being axed by their parent company. I supposed the Micr
As I realised from a poster on the Spore forums, one of the big downsides of the Space phase (apart from many ignored obvious features that will probably be used as expansion material) is the fact the AI does not play with the same rules as you do. The AI are given capabilities that the player does not have access to, namely the ability to command multiple fleets. Everytime I start playing the Space phase, I quickly get bored/annoyed and just get the desires to play Gal Civ II i
If there is one skill I have that I take for granted, it is the level of computer literacy I have. I was exposed to computers at an early age, and quickly learnt as much as I could at that age. Having to type various commands in DOS at to get a game booted up was probably one of the encouraging factors back then. Nowadays I find my computer skills indispensable. While most people's knowledge just extend to the extent of being able to use a word processor or send a email, mine goes fur
Oh god not you. Move on already, or do you have no life?
quoting post Edit: An idea, throw in a splash screen telling people where to buy the game when they exit. . Everybody in the beta already bought the game, no ?
I lol'd. [e digicons][/e]
While we're on this topic, do not resort to using fugly team colouring pasted all over everything. Its not in use yet, and I hope it never does get used.
Great interview. Looking forward to part 2. I think its great what Brad is doing. You guys have got my wallet behind you all the way. [e digicons]XD[/e]
Yes I thought you guys had a hand in it. :) Can't wait to see what else you guys have worked on when we get to try out newer builds.
