The first would be cool, the others, I'm not sure about. 2 and 3 would be more liable to piss people off than to make them go "omg that was awesome when we randomly got sacked by a monster that was supposed to be on our side", and if it's weak enough to be killed easily by the towers, what's the point other than a bit of visual confusion? 4 I like, that's cool, but keep the rewards relatively small so that tacticians who spend more time flanking and stuff can still fight effectively,

That would be awesome. Behold the pimptastic rook and his massive bling [e digicons][/e] ! I like the idea of being able to customize the demigod to a small extent, maybe change his color scheme and a few other things depending on who it is. I also like the idea of having upgrades represented somehow.

I love the idea of being able to pick up a variety of status effects to apply to your specials with each upgrade. I think that if you made it so that you select an effect to apply with each level so that you can completely customize the attack to have the blend of effects you want, it'd make the abilities much more interesting and able to be used in interesting synergistic ways.
Go to the shop, hit an upgrade button next to the item where it shows what you're wearing, and for a cost of gold it gets increased and/or more effects.
I like this idea the best. I'd like to see the upgrades bring the cheapest item to the cost of the most expensive, so there isn't a defrinitive 'absolutely tooled' build, but instead a bunch of options that all give different effects. I do think the most expensive should be slightly better at what they do

Not having physical stores on the map appeals to me, but I do like having to get off the defensive to buy artifacts, it makes them feel extra special. Still, shopping and choosing skill while dead would be a huge improvement. It gives the player something to do, like in BF2 you can watch the map and fuss with your spawn till you spawn again, which is a very good way to do things.
I would like for holding middle mouse button to allow rotation and tilt, which is a standard amongst many RTS games and works very well in my opinion.
I like this much more than the WiC style camera, which I always found turning to the worst angles at the worst times, and lets you move with your mouse while using hotkeys.

I'm not sure, but I think it may change, because buildings are a very easy art asset to just give a dyejob for the other side while you work on more permanent effects. I kind of like the idea of different effects for control, but that's something I think should be kept subtle and not distracting, so a dark aura on the ground would be good, but not anything with high brightness and movement or that obscures the view.

Wow, you have even eviller taste in music than I do. Once I get back to my fleet and get some of it painted, I'll take some pics. The imperials are black with red and gold trim and white prows, while the chaos is this lovely deep blue enamel with gold highlights (thousand sons anyone?) and some serious bridge conversions. Towers and spikes and stuff for the gothic castle look. Fun stuff.
I find it difficult to tell whether a demigod is friend or foe, and also to target one. I think demigods should have an icon (player-customizable logo?) floating above their head that indicates friend or foe somehow (coloured circle around the edge?). This could be used for selection and for targetting attacks on.
Yeah, I've proposed this idea elsewhere, and I think it would solve most of the
I mean, if they buffed mines on Regulas, there would be two ways to play him like you said there should be. Mines and wings, or snipe and points boosting skills with cooldown items and more damage/attack speed. This would still be dumb..
Three. Mines and snipe would be pretty doable, because then he'd be able to pick off anybody who gets through the mines and the tactical synergy would be good enough to make it possible, especially if the stun (or a more inventi

Wow, that's really good. Did you check your framerate? It looks way smoother than the numbers say, which is really good and shows that the animators really know their stuff (I have always found that a bad framerate with smooth animations looks less jerky than a mediocre one with bad animations).

I'm not sure he had a choice back when it was new, and until the Cores came out, AMD was much better than intel. I think I have that problem too, and I'm on a 2.6 GHz C2D. Changing the theme didn't seem to fix things, though. Odd. It only went that high after it froze when I ALT-TABed back in.

That too. I don't mind debugging my own half-assed passes at code. It's looking in vain as a 'finished' game crashes around my ears that isn't fun, because I can't reasonably expect to find that bug. Text compilers, sure, they're fun, and so is demigod's lack of bugs. [e digicons][/e] BTW, is occasional freeezing on ALT-TAB a bad enough glitch to warrant reporting?

Oh, there's a game in there, just play a bit longer and you should know what's up and be able to have a good time, it just takes a bit of getting used to. The units that look almost black aren't yours, the units that are almost white are, and that's a distinction you'll quckly find yourself making without thought. The UI is still clumsy though, it's my biggest complaint. The onscreen half is really well done, but the player ergonomics half is rather mediocre.

And they're surprisingly decent. The AI rook players have that near instapwn boulder stun to hammer slam combo down pat, it's really hard to beat. You can actually learn a few tricks from them, which is impressive to say the least for this early,
And it's hard to say just what the unclean beast's gender is
Let's leave that one as an 'it', thank you very much. Also, the first half wins so many points for vagueness it's unbelievable.

That is made of win! If you can get a cel-shaded looking cartoon character demigod ingame, that would be the awesomest thing ever. [e digicons][/e]

Ouch. The main point is to kill things. Who were you trying to play as? Try the rook, he's got a big enough reservoir of HP that you can get away with mistakes. Also, PLAY WITH A MOUSE for now, you can't seem to zoom without one, and that's essential right now. Just play some games and it should start making sense relatively quickly. The interface... bring a mouse. Seriously, it's that important. About the computer. What level of settings are you trying to play on? I've

Another issue is whether there's a way to do it at all on laptops. Laptops have screen edges. Middle buttons, not so much. It's only moderately playable without key zoom, something else I really want to see, but without screen edge move, it really is borderline unplayable.
