Depth and breadth, when taken to similar extents have analgous effects. If you can make it so that my queen of thorns and the other guy's queen of thorns play radically differently if we make different choices, then I'm completely fine with that. I start getting pissy if you don't have either, and I'm confident that the demigods will be deep. We shall see.
And on the same topic, DoE and AotZ, are made by one guy. He skins and codes the entire maps (ok the skins are also done by other people), but they're doing it as a hobby, for a couple of hours a day. You guys have a full fleged game company, doing it as a job (and therefore working on it a lot more), with money to back it!
He has premade art and effects. That is so unbelievably helpful it can't be believed. I'm making a TC for sins, and I could be done with nine races

If those heros each have multiple ways to play them, then they'll have a lot more longevity than 8 demigods would indicate. I'm currently hopeful, gpg and stardock have done well enough that they could pull this off. Can't say that I don't want 10 at release, though.

I'm looking forward to thurs too. I think that if the heroes are made distinctive and deep enough, then they should be different enough by late game that the repetition won't be that bad.

Yeah. I just don't want to subject my ears to the torture and want to hear the interview. I guess I'll suck it up. It just lost me when there were two people talking at the same volume.

That's an interesting question. I think that it'd go over better if they promised they'd be part of the free updates and released on time rather than postponing, but that's just my 2 cents.

Nah, I understand completely. It's just that there's such good lore that I think it'll really feel alive, and two repeated demigods would kind of break immersion. I don't much care, but I do understand where the objections come from. In all honesty, I much prefer depth to breadth, and if the demigods ooze the lore the way they could, then that'd be worth the slight immersion break. Plus, with that much magic, who's to say the elder gods aren't playing with space and time to play out their per

In a game with 5 v 5 games and such distinctive characters, 8 doesn't feel like that many, especially compared with something like DotA. I understand the amount of work that goes in, but these make it feel chintzy,

Well, I didn't get in trouble for modding the sins beta, so that's a good sign [e digicons][/e] . Bet people would get pissy if you tried to play multiplayer with modded files they can see, though. In sins it was mostly entity and file tweaking, but the model converter was a very advanced programming project.

One of the abilities is passive, so that's working there, I'm trying to figure out whether he really needs another passive ability. Probably not, his is pretty good as is, but i'd love a good idea for it. Torchbearer seems to be an exception, so I'm probably pretty safe not emulating him. I can't seem to come up with a good effect for the passive now... maybe just give him an extra long stylized motion blur so you get some really neat motion trails?

I must say I like the speed/dodge and high damage combo. I think I like my proposal's focus on creep pwning, but that's just my taste, and I do really like the idea from a gameplay pwerspective, I just want some visual hook to make him visibly divine.

Oh, only 4? I think I've got that just right then [e digicons][/e] I'll try to come up with a way of showing the passive. Maybe motion blurs when he's in combat? Also, what do you think?

Doing the one thing Bethesda did right with their microtransactions would be a good idea. This is of course, bundling them all into an 'expansion pack' at the end and selling that in stores. What would you guys who're opposed now say to that? Then as long as it's balanced, the internet orderers just get an advance on the content as they make it and help them test gradually.
