Yeah, the zoom is so damn useful. Sins' camera is just like it, and I can't do without it. Sins would be quite literally unplayable without that level of zoom use.

Both sound really good, that should help the experts on the team help the newbies from being too much of a detriment, and should keep it from getting overwhelming to them as they learn. Good move, I like it, and it should add a bit more upgrade strategy to the mix.

Here edit button, edit button... I have candy... No use, it's gone. Anyway, my card is an nvidia quadro FX 570M. It's pretty good, based off a midrange 8 series card, and can handle most things with aplomb, but in hl2, textures turn blue at distance. Very odd. I think I'll test it on the supcom demo to see if the engine might have any difficulty.

Love the smilies [e digicons][/e] . Bloody emoticons. Please do us all a favor and include the full skill trees for the demigods or at least reveal them so that the people wrapped up in how few the demigods are can relax because they're all going to be awesome and not feel like their suspicions are confirmed. It'd be kind of bad if they thought that a third of the tree was the entire tree and left when they would've loved the game. I'm cur

The game he mentions is excellent, but unfortunately expansion sized. I managed to suffer through the interview, and it was good. Just annoying when there were two people talking about demigod at once.
But I have to tell you, it really pains me, as a gamer and game developer, to see people obsess over quantity of "stuff" instead of caring much about quality. I think people should reserve their opinions until they've made it to beta 2.
I'm sorry to hear that. I think that the reason that a lot of people are on your case about the quantity is that it's the only part of the game they have all the information on, and it's easy to go from being disappointed by a lack of q

Especially type of processor. Most modern AMD processors are 64 bit, but if you have a Core or earlier intel, it's quite likely not 64 bit.

It really does. I think that the mines may turn out to be one of my favorite abilities. Just imagine the mayhem they could cause... [e digicons][/e]

That sounds... awesome. Reminds me of the singleplayer campaign on BF1942, only with the singleplayer game to make it good. Love the idea [e digicons][/e] .

TEA! And the taste of good tea is way better than the taste of mere soda. If I want that much sweetness I'll just suck a sugarcane. Or antifreeze, I hear that's the preferred sweetener of chinese toothpaste. [e digicons]8(|[/e]

This is true. However, there should still be enough features to tell what the basic progression of the game is like and it, unlike the PAX version will not be deliberately unbalanced. At least the sins one had most of the framework (mostly). The beta will have the entire run of the game. It may have a small selection of items, or a small selection of demigods, but the main elements are there, which for demigod, should include leveling.

I think that the mines will be incredibly useful, especially for a sniper style character. He could whittle a wave down quite nicely with damage mines or plant a bunch of stun mines so that the enemy creeps are helpless for the first few seconds of a fight. If mines are done well, I think they could definitely be awesome. They don't particularly sound it, but if the effect is good enough, they could be quite enjoyable. Also, there's something to be said for stun mining the enemy column, and t

I don't care, I've already bought this game, but I understand why people are complaining. 8 demigods are 8 individuals, and traditionally heroes only get a selection of abilities. From the perspective of somebody used to, say, sins, heroes (IE caps) are a big fancy unit with a set of abilities. I think that what the devs are getting at is that the demigods entail way way more than that. A bunch more abilities, items, potions and all in all depth more analgous to a race than to a single hero.
Well then, if that's the case, the damage mine is going to be used much more than the stun mine, and I'll make sure you get to know all the uses for it as soon as beta2 is out muhahah. (should've paid more attention the abilities section of your report thread mOoEy)
Huh? They both seem to have their uses. If regulus is as fragile as he seems, he'll need some defense from the more agressive demigods who'll undoubtedly be trying to knock him out of the fight

It's a better solution to make unique demigods only available until you hit 9 players than to artificially cap the number of players. Give people the option to play 5v5 with duplicates. I'll agree it was kind of stupid waiting this long to say that there'll be only 8 demigods on release, but I'm hoping that they'll add some new ones relatively quickly, and it's better in my opinion for them to get a release than to postpone (again), and I think that if people know there'll be two more demigod

That sounds cool, give a guy something to help him get out of the fight he's stuck in the middle of after a hard fight. It may be slippery slope if the items are too good, but that's what beta balancing is for.

The setup of the torchbearer's abilities makes me think that 'relive the immolation' is a really original way of doing what is essentially a magic turbocharge. I like that, even if it makes the fire spells look like copouts because it's a really nifty way of boosting magical firepower. However, I suspect that I won't like regulas' abilities as much, but the beta shall tell. I bet the damage mines are there to defend against creeps though, because stunning them isn't as good as just plain kill

Because tea is better [e digicons][/e] . Oh, and coffee has always smelled like skunk to me. Plus, strong tea has way more taste than mere soda.

The video would be great if it were longer than 21 seconds. As it is, it only contributes to the puddle of drool around my ankles.

I think that the beta will give a better impression of the course of an entire game than the PAX version, though, because it's not designed to be played in 10 minutes. Also, the generals will probably get their minions.
