I thought that you had a 7 series card. Is that a different computer? If you have a PCIe motherboard with the right CPU socket buy a Core 2 quad. You will not regret it.

I'll try it on my current laptop, which has a Core 2 Duo running at 2.6 GHz and an nvidia quadro FX 570M, which is a pretty oddball card, so that's good. I'll also get my desktop back soon, and that has a Core 2 Duo at 3.0 GHz and an 8800GT. Also have a laptop with an ATI processor running at 1.9 GHz (it's the newest laptop athlon variant) and a 6 series laptop card that may or may not play demigod. Time will tell for that one.

Your old system was so processor capped it wasn't funny. Well, actually it is now [e digicons]:D[/e] . The problem with his is that there's pretty good odds it's an AGP motherboard, so he may need to change the motherboard and video card as well as the processor.

The problem is that it's an import, and Stardock lost a ton of money shipping the sins collectors edition to Europe last time round, so they want to make sure that they don't lose money with sales, because its a rather backwards way to run a business if you lose money.

Until the fat la-- um, no, until kryo says so, there still are, so you should be fine. His last comment on the subject was that there were still slots. Folks wiht paypal only may have a hard time, but some of them should get in (correct me if I'm wrong)
Again, if 5v5 Unique Demigods is possible, then I think at least 12 should eventually be reached through dlc/an expansion pack. This way the last person to join a 5v5 unique game won't be stuck with the final Demigod, but will be able to choose between a couple free Demigods. Any more than 12 Demigods would be pointless, imho, and that number could be reached post-release.
To steal Brad's likely answer: "Then don't play unique 5v5s. Nobody's forcing you." Sorr

Get a new mobo, processor and video card (bet that's an AGP one). Other than that, just resign yourself to having 3 gigs of RAM. It's not like Schrodinger's cat rules apply and your computer just got slower.

Looking at the inside doesn't tell you anything. The cores are in the silicon under the metal cover. If you checked the model number and it says it only has 1 core, then you're right. Also, 64 bit is enough of a crapshoot as it is without a dubious processor. I bet it's one of the non 64 bit ones if its clock speed is 3 GHz or lower.

That's technically right from the computer's point of view. You don't have a 64-bit OS, so it can only address (and use) 4 GB of ram total. Add in your video card's ram and the phantom memory adresses that the computer uses for basic I/O, and you've only got 3 GB adressed (and if it's not adressed, it doesn't exist to the computer). That's where that comes from. Don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.

Pentium 4? Is it a pentium multi-core or one with hyper-threading? If it's a Pentium 4 with a base clock of 3 GHz (that's what I got from 3.64 Ghz / 3.00 Ghz, correct me if I'm wrong) It's quite likely to be this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116027 (sorry, forgot how to link and the button's broken). This doesn't support 64-bit, and Pentium 4s are kind of a crapshoot for 64 bit support.

Fine, then, just tell us how little of a slice of the ability/item/skill pie we're getting. Now that my attempt to get more stuff in beta 1 has failed (shoulda known considering the last stress test beta I've done (sins) had NO COMBAT FRIGATES in it, but at least I'll get a 10 for effort =P), I can just ask the question you really should answer, because that's got a good chance of quieting down this discussion so I don't have to refresh five times a minute.
