Ok, had another thought on this one after examining the UI some more. There are three context-sensitive values to the left-hand side of the central image at the bottom. When a ship is selected, it shows things to do with that ship etc. However, when nothing is selected, it shows how many ships and planets you have. Planets Cap Ships Support Ships (frigates/cruisers) An easier way of doing something along these lines would be to make those into clickabl
Valdore
you mean there are ships that can give you 500 bounty? Havn't seen one of them yet . . .
Which is a capital ship more likely to do though, keep its main guns locked on target even though it will take more damage due to the, lets say, 2 or 3 capital ships firing at it. Or would it sacrifice its main firepower for turreted weapons and being able to move, thus breaking off from the enemies main weapon lock and getting the advantage on their presumably weaker armour? The second option is likely to keep them alive longer, therefore, even though their heavier firepower can't hit
hmm, oh well. someone can delete this if appropriate then
lol, never did use that one . . . or figure out where it was
Ok, the forum seems to have partially eaten one of my topics, it shows up on the main page, and it showed up when it had the last post on the forum main page, but it doesn't show up in the list. So here's a link https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=157833
There are two buttons to the left of the improvement and ability pane. The bottom one is the ping button, the top is auto-placement. Check to see if the top button is depressed or not
Sorry if I rant a little here, but hey. I have been coming up against the good old colonies instantly switching back to their previous owner due to influence. So I fathomed a tactic against it. Steadily wipe out each of their planets, removing the race from the game. This then gets rid of their influence as well, leaving their planets free for the taking . . . Worked a treat against the first faction. Did this against the second faction, slightly harder as they had two routes t
a) smaller amounts of zoom per mouse-wheel roll -- a user defined option -- allow for an in between zoom state, that has a happy medium between seeing the whole battle and seeing the great graphics? Hold down shift whilst scrolling. It scrolls in much smaller steps that way . . . found that one out by accident.
Just checked through the other recent bounty raises, and I also had one that raised by 2000 to 1730. Is it possible for the bounties to go negative??
First, let me state clearly that this is not to do with the AI spamming bounty. It is annoying, but I'm resigned to that fact for the moment However, one thing I have found is that sometimes I get an alert about the bounty being raised on faction X The message goes something like this: The bounty on faction X has been raised by 500 to 0. I've only ever seen it with the
I agree with you in the most part, but there was one thing in the above game, where the two left hand stars were pretty much in a straight line from the starting star. It just wouldn't make sense for the second star to be connected to the starting one, as you'd have to go through the first star to get to it, which wouldn't happen due to gravity etc. I doubt there is any way to code that though . . .
I spy a galciv type comment there. Again, I wouldn't mind a tax rate type thing as well. My biggest issue at the moment is getting enough money in (before that, it was crystal . . . then I found a few ice planets)
ok, for those with a similar conundrum, one method I am now using, is grouping all my planets in one group (usually zero for me) this then makes it easy to select all the planets, and tab through them. If you select the planet improvements pane and tab through the planets, it stays open, meaning it is easy to check things like this.
well, the autosaving is good, and it doesn't seem to take too long on my machine, shorter than some other games I've played in fact. However, one thing that gets on my nerves is the sheer number of saves. Any chance of adding a limit saved games option somewhere rather than having to go through manually deleting them?
One thing that has struck me when playing this game (particularly in my current large game) is the annoyance of having to go around each planet individually to find which ones you havn't yet upgraded the fleet capacity, or the population capacity on etc. I for one, found the galciv 2 colonies window very useful for managing my planet, and I think some sort of similar system allowing you to view one window listing all your planets and say numbers of the different structures, but I think, most imp
That is really wierd Validore, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it. We tested that substantially before the last patch and made sure they were distributed according to various rules (none of which is to put them all in the same system). Besides 10 planets , 9 artifacts and 100 planets did you do anything else? No marauders, we were set to no-break alliances, 2v2v2 uhm, flagships, medium AI, no starti
lol, fair enough. The files have been sent anyway, so you can ignore those ones
Marauders: Maurauders are pirates who enter your systems and attack you, rather than just attacking you when you pass through where they are. Marauding as it were Capital ship: The different abilities can usually have different numbers of ability points assigned to them, so at the start, you could assign 2 to the shield one, and one to the cannon one, or 2 to the shield, one to t
cheers, I'll send them now
ok, similar problem, but on a bigger scale. I just started a custom map, everything up to maximum bar players. I have 5 AI opponents: Galaxy Overview: Closer Star System Overview: Even Closer: <img src="http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d139/J
Ok, I just updated to .018, and went to play my current game, and, lo and behold, it crashed on me. I have two minidumps and the save game file available if someone can tell me where to send them
On the point of specs, I checked the stardock central minimum specs out, and it says a 128 MB graphics card, yet my laptop (onboard intel chipset) ran it perfectly well at high textures. It's important to note that the beta only contains the TEC. Once the other two races are added, you will almost certainly need to run at lower texture quality to get good results (since the required video memor
fair enough, as long as I know they're coming
I just downloaded the beta the other day, and have been very impressed so far, takes me back to the days of Imperium Galactica . . . anyhows. I zoomed into the capital shipyard last night whilst I was building my first capital ship, expecting to see a hive of activity as they went about constructing this monstrosity, but I saw nothing . . . That, I must say, is the only dissapointing thing I can think of about the game at the moment. Just wondering whether this was being planned for or
