Thanks everyone. Like I said, it's never been as slow for me as it has been tonight. Guess it could be worse - I could be on a dial-up!!
bmetelsky
Is it just me, or does the site seem pretty slow to load today? I really have not experienced such slowness on this site before.
Nice article.
Vekruul, Do you have an email address I can send the wallpaper to? It's not mine, so I can't post it. I can't recall where I got the wall, but I saved it.
I didn't know that Serenade was still in development - there was nothing new for a very long time. I've tried many of the alternative shells - always end up going back to explorer. With WindowsXP and Windowblinds I don't really need anything else.
goodmorphing, I use MyIE2 and it really only approaches 100% of the CPU when first starting the program (like many other programs). It then uses minimal CPU power.
I understand Dark Mist. I have been part of the skinning community for some time. It has been brought to the attention of the admins - my suggestion was to simply wait for a period of time to allow them to check it out (i.e. Koasati sending an email and hopefully getting a reply). <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles
The message board is really fast! Keep up the great work.
Let's give it a rest and allow the admins to check it out.
and it is bmetelsky - or, if you prefer, you can call me Bill.
Thanks - guilty of skimming instead of reading thoroughly.
How about checking with the person who uploaded the wall?
All of this hugging reminds me of an NA meeting.
I see now - maybe a touch of ADD? Just checked out your cursorxp titled "x-box". Very nice set.
How did you go from talikng about wallpapers to talking about cursorxp?
Thanks Jafo, You can call me Bill. No more on this subject by me. Thanks for being patient. Again, sorry for offending you.
DavidK, Nice desktop you have. I am not flogging this issue. I am not interested in making a crusade out of the whole thing, either. I'm really just waiting on a response from Jafo on #95 and I'll be through with it. Thanks for your input.
And, for the record, I was not the only individual here thinking that a double standard was being applied. I accept responsibility for "talking crap" with the whole b.s. note I posted above. I need to tone it down at times.
'Recently' meaning as of the initial date for this thread? Also, no question at all about you, Jafo, applying the policy consistently - are all wizops on the same page?
I apologize if my statement was offensive. It was not meant to be. I am not disagreeing with the idea that policy might need to change in re. to submissions carrying the apple logo, name, or copied look. I do think that there should be some standard and that the standard should be applied across the board.
Wow Jafo, "Enough is enough" is really great policy for moderation. I don't feel the need to check the dates of submissions or approvals. How about this policy is spelled out for all to see? Also, I am offended by your suggestion "or just return to lurk mode".
That's just a bunch of b.s. There is definitely at least a double standard here. Seems to me that somebody moderated Adam Solley's skin, threw out the excuse that it had the apple logo on it, and then sh-t hit the fan when the practice was questioned. I usually don't do much more than lurk, but I have to put in my two cents here. I gave an example earlier in the thread of a perfect example of an apple copy - why not the same treatment? I think it is time to examine some of the policies. Fair is
Nevermind, I guess I should really read the newsletter instead of skimming through it.
