I bought the universe metal suite some time ago and don't recall it being wrapped up in an *.exe file. As a matter of fact, I am looking at the zip file on my hard drive now and it is just that - a zip file with all the individual skins contained within. Certainly less complicated than the scenario you are painting.

Try unzipping the .SDtheme file. I am only guessing here as I do not use Winstyles. Do a search on your computer and see where the universe metal files were placed. In windowblinds, it should've gone to C:\Program Files\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds\universemetal

You can unzip the .exe file instead of running it and I think you can find the individual files you need in there (i.e. *.wba=windowblinds skin, etc). Hope this helps.

There are a lot of other prizes - Stardock is contributing several OD subscriptions. I haven't seen any windowblind submissions as of yet. Some of the wonderfully talented skinners that hang out here would have a great chance at winning.

Just found this while browsing some of the other community sites! Hardware Geeks is having a skinning contest and one of the programs that is included is windowblinds. Check it out - there is still time to enter. http://www.hardwaregeeks.com

I like Norton AV - I'm using the 2003 Professional Edition and have no complaints. Prior to that I was using Trend PC-Cillin. I switched when Trend started piling "extra features" into PC-Cillin.

I am using XP Pro now and loving it. Prior to that I was running Windows 2000 Professional. I have also used Win 3.1, Win 95, Win 98, Win 98SE, and (I am almost ashamed to say this) Win ME. I ran Win ME for about a day and quickly uninstalled it. What a piece of crap that was (for me).

I have been using windowblinds for years now and can safely say that any of the version(s) 3.* have been extremely stable and have not slowed my computer down noticeably. I can't say that for many other programs I use. If there is any performance hit that is "not noticeable" then it really isn't a performance hit in my opinion.

I use System Mechanic bi iolo @ www.iolo.com . It works great for me - cleans the registry, deletes abandoned shortcuts, deletes temporary files, allows you quick access to startup items (registry based or start-menu), lets you customize some windows options, remove invalid uninstaller information, privacy options for internet and email, optimize internet and network speed, and securely delete files and folders. I won a copy of the industrial version years ago by entering a contest and get free

I downloaded the iconpackager version at DeskMod and they were posted by someone named bangbang023 who indicated full permission from FOOOD. Don't know if XP2000 and bangbang023 are the same person.

I downloaded the iconpackager version - not sure if it was from this site or not, but I thought there was an indication that FOOOD had given permission to someone to put it in icon packager format.

I don't think the site is poorly designed. I think it was meant to have that XP default look. Doesn't it say something in the upload agreement about permission to use? If so, it may indeed cover this topic.
