Works well on Vista RC2!

Greg2, Thanks a million! I can't believe I missed the default background. Messenger Live is now restored to it's original state (those dynamic backgrounds can be quite distracting after a while).
Not helpful clearing the cache or cookies. I can't figure this out - nothing in the registry either that would hold the configuration.
And the cache would be located where?
Thanks - I'm almost ready to reformat my Vista partition and reinstall everything just get it back to default (which is a bit extreme - why do they make it so difficult).
Not that I can find.....
Anyone know a solution?
I have installed Windows Live Messenger on VistaRC1. I started playing around with the different customization settings (background, themepacks, etc) and am left with a fairly ugly looking thing. Does anyone know how to revert back so that what I see is the default setup? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and have the same problem. Thanks in advance.

I can definitely relate. Way too time consuming in my estimation. I actually thought that using Windows Movie Maker might work well - what a joke. I tried a few other programs and am now fairly competent using Pinnacle Studio 8. Anything after version 8 was too bloated for me. I still hate the amount of time it takes to put it all together, though. I recently have been experimenting moving video off my DVR (a Motorola DCT6412 III) and am quite happy with the first few DVD's that I put t
Definitely broke here...................
Neil, I have no idea what button you are talking about. Could you elaborate? Also - is it safe to just remove the entry from the registry at this point? I have it disabled and am not experiencing any problems? Thanks for your assistance.
I haven't clicked any button. It is a registry entry in hkey current user microsoft windows current version run. I was assuming it was leftover from some installation problem. Like I said, I have not seen this entry in the registry before. I disabled the entry and all seems "normal". I'll probably delete it in the morning.
The above file is running during startup. I haven't seen this before when monitoring startup items. Should it be there?
In windowblind options, basic settings, you can uncheck the box that indicates "apply the skins colour scheme".
Very Nice........................
ok, Woke up this morning and again no problem. Rebooted computer and logged back on - no problem. Hopefully resolved at this point.
ok, So far, so good - today. I logged on this evening and was again greeted by my favorite windowblind. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
yraq, Logged on this morning and windowblinds loaded without problem. Will try upon return from work this evening and see if I get the classic look - then report back.
Windowblinds loads properly 100% of the time on 3 other user accounts (my family). It now loads sporadically on my user account only - i.e. this morning I logged on and saw the classic windows theme, tonight I log on and see the classic windows theme but log off then back on later and am greeted by my favorite windowblind skin. Troublesome.
Neil - glad you showed up - perhaps you can save me from pulling all of my hair out! No Panda, I am using Windows OneCare Live.
This is getting old - greeted once again by the windows classic theme this morning.
I went in and deleted the current user wb5.ini folder from the registry - I just figured that since I was the only user account that was having the problem I might as well try it. I logged off, then back on, then loaded windowblinds. It rewrote the regitry settings that I deleted. I logged off, then back on, and now windowblinds is showing properly at log-on with my user account. I logged off and on multiple times with success. I will post here if the
The prior version that I was running was 5.01.006 dated 3/22/06.
